I'm so glad I finally stopped by this place! Ive walked past it a million times, always seeing people sitting in there sipping tea and eating delicious looking food. When I finally walked in and ordered I was not disappointed by what I brought home. The menu has so many amazing things on it and I chose a lamb and meat dish that was severed with the most wonderful garlic rice. It's came with onions and tomatoes, salad and fresh bread. I won't pretend I'm familiar with Turkish food so I'll describe the bread I ordered as Indian naan with peppers, inconsiderate and spices on it. For the love of God get this. It's so tasty. I look forward to coming back and trying more things because not only was it amazing, it was affordable and the people working there are great! read more

This is a hole in the wall place but serves up some great food. It's a small but pretty nice casual spot that mainly specializes in a few Turkish things that resemble pizza. They also serve up drinks like tea, coffee, salep, and ayran. I'm a huge fan of lahmacun and this place pretty much serves up the best I've had in town. Came here on a whim, and didn't regret a bite. Right off the Irving Park brown line, this restaurant has an extensive menu that I wish I could've explored more. I ordered a rice dish with beef and lamb and a side of yogurt, but I think next time I'll actually get what the restaurant is known for, which is their pizza. Even so, the dish I ordered was delicious, and the atmosphere was very casual. It seemed like a place that has regulars, and seeing the people who also dined there speak with the waitstaff in their native language and ordering without looking at the menu made me feel more confident that this place served authentic Turkish food. My only concern was that the service was a bit slow for the number of people on staff compared to the number of people in the restaurant. read more

It is a very very small cafe. However as we were told they make the best ever calzones which I totally agree. Mind you, once we travelled to Phoenix from Ca to eat some really good calzones. Finally tried this place today after months of walking by while they were still constructing. I had the beef and cheese (which also had lamb in it) Pide which was quite good. It's big enough for 2 people to share and at $11, that's not bad at all. All the meat is Halal. Right next to the Brown Irving Park stop making it oh-so convenient. The decor is very nice and bright, however it is very small, only 4 2-seater tables. I plan on returning to try the Lahmacun. read more

This place is kind of an extension to i-cafe next door. They share the kitchen and the menu. I asked the waiter and he said pide and lahmacoun is more family oriented. It is but it is kind of a small place. However, the food is excellent. They have great lahmacouns and pides. Nicely baked nicely prepared doughs. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in Turkish style pizza (pide). read more

I love this place. I wish it were closer to me, but I will drive my butt down to North Center for Pides and Lahmacuns. It's a small little joint with only a handful of tables (mainly two seaters). If you're getting the Pides, expect to wait about 15-20 minutes for them to make it. But the wait is oh so worth it. There are about 7 different pides to choose from. I got the traditional pide with ground beef and cheese. I wish I read one more line on the wall menu because I would have added an egg to mine! They have a lunch special with half pide and soup or salad. For the amount of food and price, getting lunch there is definitely worth it! But again, if you're expecting to walk in and walk out, be warned about that wait time. The owners are so accommodating and sweet, especially the wife! My friend and I told her we came just to try her restaurant, and she gave us free dessert! The description of the place on Yelp is kinda misleading. It's not pizza. At the restaurant , they say pide is kind of like a calzone, but they're just trying to make the food more accessible to people who've never had Turkish food. I was mostly excited to try the salep drink. I watch Shahs of Sunset and they drink that at family gatherings so I was interested to see what it tasted like. It was really good. I'm extremely picky when it comes to meat so I probably should've ordered the vegetarian Pide. But the ground beef one was pretty good, my dining partner enjoyed it. Excellent Turkish pizza? I had not known this exists. They describe pide as similar to a calzone. I suppose it does resemble calzone in ways but the ingredients are definitely Eurasian. If you order beef, rest assured it will contain lamb as well. This is a good thing in my book. I did not care for the thinner pizza as much, but the pide was very tasty and satisfying. read more

Excellent and authentic! Casual atmosphere with friendly staff. The pides and lahmacuns that are their namesake are perfectly prepared and come as close as a Turkish restaurant in the US can get to those you'd find in a Turkey. Wonderful when paired with ayran and shepherd's salad. Great selection of mezes. They also have incredible desserts, especially the kazandibi. read more

Almost universally great food. The pides and lahmacuns (if I recall correctly) are almost like an open-faced calzone and a flatbread pizza, respectively. There are a few variations on them, and I particularly like the ones with the ground beef. You can also add egg on the top of the pides, which... why wouldn't you. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I thought the lentil soup could have used more flavor. Otherwise, no complaints. read more

I absolutely Love this place!!!! I am so glad I came here! This little restaurant make everything fresh. It is super hot and super fresh. They surve your food hot and it smells delicious.Love it ! But wait until you try their coffee. Oh...I was sooo happy. The coffee here is good and NOT watery like in McDonalds. So this was it. The people who work in this place are very nice and friendly. I love this place, everything looks great and delicious, and they tend to you so lovingly, and bring your order so fast, yep-- not much waiting at all. I've only eaten the Milk Pudding, and rice pudding here. The milk pudding, OMG...I don't have much words to describe it, let's just say.....it was so So SO yummy, --if you are checking reviews try it, TRUST ME... you will love it, and might actually get hooked. It was a great recommendation of my friend who lives in this neighborhood. It kinda reminds you of Flan except a little lighter and seems less fattening too (since it seems to have no eggs--so I guess lol) I have plans to try other pastries, pizza drink etc, and if I like it, you will be reading my reviews again.
