Good Vietnamese place, you get a decent meal for under $10. Fills up quickly at lunch time. Take out is ready within 10 minutes.

Just alright. Not special. If having food delivered be prepared to wait about an hour and a half. Not recommended.

I was having a real craving for Hunan Dumplings and they had it at Ting's Kitchen ($8.95). I also got an order of General Tao Chicken ($10.95) for my husband, as it's one of his favourite dishes. Both dishes had some spicy heat to them. The Hunan Dumplings were in a thin peanut sauce and chili oil. I would have liked a slightly thicker peanut sauce and less chili oil, but I still really enjoyed it, and it wasn't too greasy/oily. The General Tao Chicken had onions, carrots, mushrooms and green peppers in it. It wasn't crispy, but still tasted good. The batter was not excessive and the meat was not gristley, so I was happy with this. The food overall I would rate 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to 4 because service was good and I like supporting small local businesses. I called in my order and went to pick it up. I had requested no sesame seeds and they obliged. The lady on the phone was courteous and efficient. She said it would be ready in 30 minutes. I got there in 30 minutes and it was waiting for me. There's free parking in the plaza.

We went during the lunch rush so service was a bit slow, which is expected and not a big deal. Their spicy dish wasnt super hot but a slow spice that continuously build up in your mouth. I had been wanting to try Harbin for awhile now, after hearing they had authentic northern Chinese…read moreand Sichuan food. Naturally, gluttonous me couldn't decide what to order and ended up getting a little bit of everything. I ordered: - Grandma pork belly with eggs - Mapo tofu - Spicy blood tofu, beef food, beef tripe, pig intestine and vegetable in chili sauce - Tofu and stew pot meat (regular casserole) - Crispy fried beef tenderloin with peanuts in sweet sour spicy sauce - Egg roll - Rice (plain steamed) My husband ate the fried beef and tenderloin while basically the rest was mine lol .. to eat for the week. Portions are generous, so the price is a bit higher but I was satisfied, and then some. I was looking forward to the grandma's pork belly and mapo tofu the most. They did not disappoint! Anything from grandma or her recipe bank must be delicious, right? I actually tried to place my order the night before and they ran out of this dish, so I decided to postpone until it was available. The pork belly was a thicker, saltier and sweeter sauce than I expected, so I would recommend ordering or making more plain rice to offset. The fatty pork belly cubes were just what I was craving. The mapo tofu was probably my favourite. It was super flavourful, spicy but not overly, and I loved the silky texture. Also needed more rice for this one. I could easily eat this dish over and over. I'm not familiar enough with northern Chinese cuisine to know what "casserole" is, so the tofu and stew pot meat casserole surprised me. I thought they messed up the order because it was like boiled pork belly and soft tofu cubes in broth, more like soup than a baked casserole. It was good, just not what I expected. Love that it came piping hot. I ordered the spicy blood tofu dish because I saw on socials that it was someone's favourite authentic dish and I'm an adventurous eater. I have to admit I'm not entirely sure what "beef food" is/was, but I had eaten everything else before so I was up for it. I think there was Spam in it? Totally surprised by it, but into it. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce-drenched, soft baby bok choy, cabbage, and bean sprouts in it, but the dish wasn't bad, just not my favourite. The crispy fried beef wasn't crispy when it got to us after delivery because it was heavily sauced, so I would recommend eating this one in-house. The egg roll was closed and a bit thinner but longer than the standard kind you'd get at most Chinese restaurants. Overall, I think their food is very big on flavour, especially sweet and salty, and heavy on the sauce, so keep that in mind. Would definitely order from them again (I'm craving their mapo tofu now, as I write this!), and try one of their clay pot dishes next time.

Ok, no problem, I got the Dinner 2B instead. The menu price was $30.95 but the price went up as I was charged $32.95. I get it, the Pandemic has been hard for some businesses. It took about 20 minutes, so I left and drove to a nearby cafe to get a drink. When I came back about 25 minutes later the food was ready and waiting for me. It was in a paper bag and stapled at the top. I put it in my trunk and drove home. When I got home, I opened my trunk and the paper bag was wet and ripped. Some of the containers were rolling around in my trunk. The soup had leaked and the inside of my trunk was wet with broth. I was very thankful that I asked to have the Wonton soup instead of the Hot and Sour soup. I think the latter would have been a bigger mess. So I brought the food into the house and I saw that there was a small hole in the lid of the soups. Gah! I guess this is good for venting of the soup, but very bad for transport! If you get takeout from this place and get soup, make sure you secure the bag, so it stays completely upright. Anyway, the food itself was ok overall, some dishes were better than others. The Wonton soup was pretty good. You get 2 wontons per soup. There was a good amount of filling (ground pork), so they weren't mostly wrapper. The broth had green onions and Chinese cabbage in it. It was not too salty. The General Tao Chicken had a spicy kick to it, which I liked. It was all dark meat though, but not too gristley at least. The batter was a bit soggy. However, the flavour was good. This dish did not contain any vegetables. The Hunan Beef was a bit chewy. It too had a nice spicy kick to it. This dish had lots of vegetables in it: broccoli, onions, carrots, water chestnuts, celery, green peppers, and baby corn. It also had mushrooms. The chicken fried rice was mostly plain fried rice, with a few small pieces of chicken here and there. It was ok. The spring rolls were also ok, but nothing to write home about. It had ground pork and onions in it. Overall, not a bad meal, but I personally did not find it anything special that would make it stand out in a crowd. Although, it's not a bad choice if you live in the area. I noticed that they do sell dim sum, which is not that easy to find in Ottawa, let alone the suburbs of Ottawa, so they do have that going for them. The restaurant is in a strip mall with free parking.

A lot of the dishes tasted pretty similar to each other, and the noodles we ordered were quite salty. The soups were probably the highlight for us and the part we enjoyed the most. The chicken lollipop was a bit of a let down too, there wasn't much seasoning and it felt more like simple deep fried drumsticks with a dip on the side. Service was good, our server memorized the whole order without writing anything down which was impressive. It honestly felt like a one man show since he seemed to be cooking and serving too. It wasn't busy when we went so we didn't have to wait. We ordered a good amount of food and it came to around $150 plus tax and tip for five people, which is pretty reasonable. At the end of the day it just comes down to personal taste.

After a bit of craving from driving by Federicks's while in the GTA, I decided to give this place a try one night. I drove by and walked in to place an order at the counter. They mentioned it should be 15 minutes. The place was about half full and much more open and spacious if it's the place I'm thinking that it took over. About 15 minutes later I walked in and sat on the chairs. The person who took my order acknowledged me. After some significant time after I came in, I got my order and headed home as we wanted some take out. When I got home I checked on the order and it looked pretty decent. I will say, the portion sizes are much smaller than I recall from my favorite places in the GTA, however that was before the massive shrinkflation that has happened the last few years. I tried the chili chicken and honestly it wasn't to bad! Much better than anything else I've had in town. The noodles, I think there was some confusion about this order but I have to say that it tasted pretty decent and I did like that they put a ton of sauce on the side for us. All in all, if you have a craving, give this place a shot. I'll probably come by to try some other things in the future.

The place was very steady but we got one of the few remaining tables. The menu has a lot on it and there is another, separate menu for specials. The complimentary herbal tea was nice and hot for a very cold day. Ordered was a pho for me, extra spicy and my friend got a beef and veg dish and they subbed her noodles for rice upon her request and accommodated her peanut allergy. The food was good, also. I ordered us shrimp spring rolls to start, 2 to an order. Very good. $6. The entrees... My broth was nice, albeit mild. Not that clovey taste I've experienced at other places. My pho had shrimp, beef and chicken. It was a house specialty so it only came in a medium size. This was fine as I ordered extra noodles for $2.50 to go and had some at home for dinner tonight. And, it will feed me for lunch one more time tomorrow. The containers were leak proof and the liquid survived the drive home. The staff were unobtrusive yet attentive and kind. Said to be family owned and that everything is homemade. I'll return! I love Vietnamese food and love supporting these places. I will avoid weekends though as I was told people are lined up at the door for seating. Was it the best I have ever had?
