Tiny itty bitty storefront attached to the Delta Hotel and Suites Vancouver Downtown has 3 stools and counter inside and 2 tables outside (weather permitting) that is family owned and operated. My kind of Mom & Pop! Hard to move if more than two customers inside but these folk are so nice and accommodating the tightness is almost comforting. The service is great and they care! Give them notice of food allergies and you're good to go. The beef pho was absolutely wonderful. Nice broth, fresh cilantro and scallions. Easily prepared to go for my room (I had work, nothing to do with the size of the place). Also had the pork spring roll, which was served with not only the spring roll, but a hunk of sliced pork topped with sriracha (I asked for spicy), rice noodles and cucumber salad! Huge meal for $18CD!! Yum! I'm stuffed! read more

Solid 3.75 stars, as I'm willing to try their pho and salad rolls next time. Tried their banh mi which I've had better at One Saigon and Thai's Saigon Bistro. First big thing is the bread -- nowhere as crunchy yet soft like the forementioned. Yet the House Special toppings were plentiful & tasty, lots of cilantro. Great location for an easy drive-by. read more

Pholicious - House special - Vietnamese Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

First Impression: Visited on a Wednesday, dinner. This is a hole-in-the-wall grab-a-quick-bite-to-eat kind of place. I like Vietnamese food, and this place is right below the hotel that I was staying at so I had to try it out. Service: I wasn't aware that they were about to close, but I ordered my food and requested to "eat-in". As soon as I realized that they were about to close and were politely allowing me to sit in and eat I decided to get it to go. The people behind the counter were extremely polite and I really appreciated that. Atmosphere: It is a very small place, there is barely enough space to eat in there but for what it is, it is acceptable. Nothing amazing decor-wise. Food: I had the noodle soup special which was written up on a whiteboard, it was shrimp. It was just the right temperature, very hot so by the time I sat down in my room and started eating it it was edible but not even close to being lukewarm (I hate it when things get cold by the time you get home). I was asked if I liked it spicy (yes!) so I was also given some spicy chili sauce which I was able to add at my leisure (I added all of it and it was nothing short of amazing). The shrimp was very good and the portion size was ideal. Everything was proportionally correct, just enough shrimp, herbs, noodles and broth. Just great overall! All served to me in a bag with some chopsticks, a spoon and napkins. EVERYTHING YOU NEED. Drinks: Didn't order a drink. Restrooms: They do not have any. Overall: For under $8, this place serves up some awesome noodles with great service. I will be coming back here next time I'm in Vancouver, even if it's out of my way. Tip: Let the servers know if you like things spicy, they will hook you up! read more

Pholicious - Shrimp Noodle Soup. - Vietnamese Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I have not had pho for years after experiencing consistently weird sensation after eating phos from different Vietnamese restaurants. I concluded that it was from me being sensitive to artificial flavour enhancers they must have used. But I heard sooooo much about how awesome their pho is; how great Bethany is; how their phos may not have so much MSGs; and it was raining and cold; and it was right across the street from where I teach. So finally I gave in and ordered to pick up phos. And it was DA BEST ever! Bethany was such an awesome host and cook that she and her team made sure they serve me the freshest and best flavoured food and I was welcomed. I felt like I was truly being their customer and they care. The pho was soooooo goood. I usually have weird sensation on my tongue and feel like it is getting thicker and swollen when I have food with lots of MSGs but I didn't have any of those. The broth was sooooo comforting. And meat was delicious. The noodle was cooked perfectly. Thank you!! read more

Just checked into the Delta Hotel and was cold from the sleet that was falling. Pholicious was close and we felt like soup. First, the ladies there are super nice and very efficient, considering this is truly a hole in the wall (my hotel room is bigger than their establishment). As a visitor to Vancouver, I could tell this place had a following, because the ladies often greeted customers by first name and their preferred order. You can save some time by ordering ahead, but still, the food is quick. Just note that there's really no place to eat so you should order with "To Go" in mind. Now to the food. We got the special Pho that has chicken, beef, beef and chicken balls. No tendon or tripe. Broth was surprisingly light both on flavor and MSG. You can choose your level of spice. We're from San Francisco/San Jose so we may be a bit spoiled on our Pho, but this was satisfactory. The wonton soup was similar, not mind blowing but was awesome on a cold, wet day. We added rice noodles for an extra $.50 and she threw on bean sprouts for free. Mega banh mi was just ok. The picked veg could have been more sour, Pate could have been thicker and the meat was not generous for the almost $10 price tag. Also, we typically expect jalapeño slices, but there weren't any. We rounded out our order with a shrimp roll and spring rolls which were good. Normally, I would rate this a 3, but these ladies deserve a 4 for their customer service and friendly attitude. And I didn't get the MSG dry mouth. read more

This is the only place in Downtown Vancouver I get Vietnamese food from anymore, especially the sandwiches. Their prices are better, the service is friendlier, and the food is just tastier! While other places have swankier exteriors, the food here outshines every other option by a wide margin, especially for vegetarians. They offer specials I haven't seen at any other Vietnamese place, like the veggie special bahn mi, which has kim chi and avocado. For such a small place, the consistency is exceptional: I have never had a sub-par meal there. read more

Pholicious is super small. Ordering here is a hassle so don't expect to eat here. I made an online order and came to pick up and I had to squeeze in with the crowd that's in line to order and those waiting for their orders to be made. I rarely ever get disappointed by bahn mi's 'cause I simply love this viet sandwich too much that one or another of the ingredients would have already satisfied my tastebuds. I had the Pholicious Special Sub which was dry and the bread was soggy. Not sure how they made that possible. To be exact the fillings in the sandwich were dry and I couldn't find my avocado and the bread was soggy with no crunch at all. I also got a salad roll aka special roll, again no avocado.... and it was too underwhelming. I don't recommend coming here. read more

Super tiny place (only 3 barstools inside & more seating outside), but don't let that deter you. Amazing food & very friendly employees. I was impressed with the woman at the register. She knew many customers by name. That's a good sign. She was super fast. We got there at 11:30am. The lines got longer after that time. Between the 5 of us we ordered chicken pho, veggie pho, seafood pho, an avocado roll, & a grilled chicken banh mi sandwich. Everything was SO delicious! Wishes we lived in Vancouver so we could be regulars too. read more

Great for the price ! Portions are big too. It is take out only, no dine in. The Pho is good. read more

Purchased the $4.90 Veggie rolls for take out. It was around 5:00 PM on a weekday with a few customers seated. The two rolls were ready in less than 5 minutes and included a brown paper carry bag with two individually saran wrapped rolls. Basic napkins were included as well two peanut dipping sauces. The owner is known for remembering and she correctly knew I ordered the salad roll on my previous and only visit. She is approachable and friendly. The thick uncut veggie rolls were above average portion size and offering an excellent value for the money. Rolls were held back by lackluster flavors and thickly cut ingredients such as cucumber pieces. The peanut dipping sauce was unrefined, slightly sweet, and lacking savory peanut flavor. Overall these inexpensive veggie rolls bolstered big portions but lacked refinement and flavours. The friendly staff and unique setting makes this tiny eatery a destination to visit. Would Recommend 3.25 stars Unofficial Ingredients: rice wrapper paper, rice noodles, lettuce, carrots, daikon radish, cucumber, peanut sauce Rolls 349g read more

Pholicious Cafe is a tiny Vietnamese cafe located adjacent to the Delta Hotel & Suites on Hastings Street, with limited cafe and street seating. I ordered online and walked down from my hotel room to pick up fresh lunch. I ordered the Bánh mì special sandwich, which is both chicken and pork, the chicken rice dish, and two shrimp salad rolls. All the food was wonderfully fresh and full of flavor. The Bánh mì baguette was soft and sweet, contrasting beautifully with the chili sauce, cucumber, savory meat, and the texture of the bean sprouts. I was very pleased and would certainly return for more Vietnamese comfort food. Most of the time restaurants try too hard to be clever. But Pholicious is probably forced to stay simple in their small space, which pairs perfectly with fresh ingredients. read more

We stayed at the hotel this business is attached to and every time we came into the lobby, we were overwhelmed with the smell of broth and beautiful flavors or Vietnamese goodness. We ordered the house special pho and it was loaded! The amount of stuff in the soup was amazing. Noodles were perfect, broth was spicy and savory, and the extra spring roll we got was so yummy and fresh. Small spot but great at carry out so do yourself a favor and hit this place up. read more

Pholicious - Chicken noodle pho - Vietnamese Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Ordered from Doordash. The bad: Took over 85 mins for PHO!!!!! It wasn't the drivers fault, and i was only 1kms away. The pho came with no chilis, no basil or anything you would except to come with and order of pho. The broth was clearly not home made (as it was so clear) and just tasted like a salt bomb. The Chicken vermicelli.... OMG the cucumber on the food were rancid. All gloopy and gross. The chicken was undercooked and the skin was all soft and rubbery when I got it so I had to toss that in the garbage can. The salad roll came in a brown paper bag which was super weird. There are other option for delivery and this one is not a good one! I would have been better lighting the $20 on fire. The good: I didn't eat it so I didn't get food poising? Thats the only good I can see. I don't mean to be a jerk but you CANNOT send ROTTEN FOOD TO PEOPLE. Especially when they are waiting over an hour and a half for pre-made food. It's too bad because I think the place has a really cute name. read more

The pho here was excellent! It's a bit of a hole in the wall, with extremely limited space (I think there were a few counter seats along the window but the number of people standing and waiting in there made those seats completely unusable). However, the food was great. I was able to place an online order through their website, which was quite convenient, but they did not provide an estimated pick-up time so I had no idea how long to wait before walking over. By the time I arrived, about 30 minutes later (I figured that was a reasonable time and even if my pho was a bit cold at least I wouldn't have to wait), it turned out that they had given my food to someone else because they got my order confused with someone else's identical order. (This was by their own admission; I'm not just guessing here - they actually said they got confused and genuinely apologized, which I give them credit for.) So, I had to stand along with the 4-5 other people squished in their shop waiting for their food. So, 5 stars for the pho, 4 stars for the issues with their online ordering, both the lack of estimated pick-up time and their confusing my order with someone else's. Considering their tiny space, it would definitely serve them well to get their process sorted out. read more

Absolutely delicious. Return customers frequent this small establishment in the heart of downtown. I loved the broth beef and noodles.

Delicious! Looking for cheap eats near Days Inn Hotel after arriving on a flight. Had the chicken pho, spring rolls, veggie salad rolls. Seven year old son and I gobbled it all up. Hit the spot and was very reasonably priced. Space is tight here though - Small counter space inside and a few tables outside. We carried it to the food court near the bay to meet our relatives. Highly recommended! read more

Small is powerful. This tiny, little nook has really made an impression on the neighbourhood. From that bright smile radiating from Bethany's face every time she sees her regulars, to the aroma of the delicious pho soup and fresh spring rolls, to the very reasonable prices for wholesome food, it's enough to attract people from all walks of life into this homely cafe. My personal favourite are the salad rolls. The chicken and spicy tofu rolls are my usuals. They make a mean lemongrass chicken! They also make a crisp, delicious spicy sauce in-house, which goes into the "spicy" variety of items. Give that a try. The peanut sauce is good; make sure you get some hoisin sauce with that! The pho soup is very hearty and well done. Each bowl comes with generous portions of meat. Try the spring rolls with your pho. The spring rolls are also made in-house and toasted in their little toaster oven to order. Crispy and tasty - yum! If you work in the area, try to get there early. Once you meet the rush, you are waiting up to 20 minutes for your order. Feel free also to call ahead and order for pick-up. They are good about answering their phone (even returning your call if they miss it!) and getting your order ready quickly. The option of dining in is available; however, space is very, very limited here and you'd probably want to take-out after seeing the seating arrangement. They offer a variety of smoothies as well, although I have not ventured into their drinks menu. Not yet. For now, I'm very happy with the relationship I have with this delightful cafe! read more

I have been to many different Pho restaurants, but this one was by far the BEST I have ever tried! I had the Beef Pho and the broth was so fresh, the noodles were on point and the best part was, it neeed no extra hoison and/or siracha sauce! I recommend this little spot to everyone! It has changed the way I choose my pho restaurants forever! read more

This is a hole in the wall resturant. We walked by here (almost missed it) it is attached to the Delta Hotel. There are 3 bar seats and one table outside. It feels like you are in Vietnam. The prices are decent and the quality is amazing!!! Everything is made on the spot and very worth the wait. We got the shrimp rolls and the banh mi. Both amazing. The shrimp rolls came with 2 sauces and the peanut sauce was the best sauce Ive ever had. Banh Mi was a 6 min wait as they had to heat the bread but it was delish!! Customer service is like a family owned service, very friendly and very hearty. Love this place! read more

Working around the area, I was in search for a good bowl of pho for lunch. And this place did not disappoint. I ordered a house special pho and salad rolls online and 15 minutes later, I was greeted with a hot bowl of noodles and they were oh, so delicious. I love that you can customize the amount of spiciness added to the soup, which is a big bonus for someone who loves spicy food. The staff was very friendly and efficient. First time been there, and thought 3 stars was okay. I went pretty close to closing time, I was hungry after my night class and wanted a quick bite. I've always walked by Pholicious and was curious to try it. With all the construction going on around it, it really is a hole in the wall. You can walk by and not even notice it. Super tiny with limited seating. I guess they're still new and working out a few kinks. The cashier wasn't sure how much to charge me for my meal. I got their classic Sub, for $4.95 it was okay. I guess there's no 'real way' to make a banh mi. Every place I've been to makes it slightly different from the rest. Some add some kind of sauce to it or add some peppers. One thing that has always been consistent was the Pate. Their classic sub was missing the pate, I tasted the hams, and watched them assemble the sandwich with the hams. Over all, the banh mi wasn't bad. It was edible. For an extra dollar, you can add a can of pop and make it into a combo. Overall, it's decent for a meal under $10. I'm not very likely to return, simply because of the lack of space they have. It looks like everything is pre-made and re-heated upon ordering. I could be wrong, since I went half an hour before closing. For $4.95, you can definitely can get better Banh mi else where. They do take debit and credit now. read more

#celiac review & gluten free approved for some items. Lately I've enjoyed the veggie pho $7.25 without spicy. Delicious and always consistent. Good value for that price. One of the best pho in the city. Vermicelli was just ok. I really suggest this small place for sub and pho. Jedno z nejlepsich mist pro nudlove pho a hodne doporucuji house special. While this place had great deals (cheap eats) offering meals less than $10, it was not quite the same quality as other slightly expensive pho places (~$8-10/bowl). I ordered the seafood pho + a shrimp salad roll to-go. The broth was not very flavourful and the noodles were not the best. Usually pho noodles aren't exactly chewy, but less easy to bite through/starchy that the ones at pholicious. I'm not sure how to put it into words, but tldr: the noodles were subpar. The place is quite small - just enough for 2 bar stools and a single line of ~4-5 people standing quite tightly. The family running the store was very friendly. If you are quite sensitive to cleanliness, this is likely not the place for you. If I was really looking for a closeby pho place, I may consider stopping by again, but this would not be my go-to pho place. read more
