I ordered the beef and beef ball noodle soup. The noodle and the broth tasted fine but the beef balls smelled really bad!

wow I was amazed at the sub here. So I was looking on Yelp and this place has a pretty 4.5 stars. Yes I had to come here and check it out. This is a takeout place only. There are three seats in front of the window but i don't recommend sitting there. Its very crowded with people coming in and out during lunch time. So came here at 11:35am and took about 20 mins to get our food. The chicken Bahn-mi was about $5 which was a really good price. Plus it was delicious. Bread was fresh and you just know that they made it in-house. The chicken was nice and warm and had a really good grilled lemongrass flavor to it. The owner was super friendly. I highly recommend this place. Definitely coming back. read more

Being unfamiliar with the menu offerings they were very helpful. Had the chicken vermicelli and egg rolls and chicken pho and vegetable salad roll. They were all delicious. The Vietnamese iced coffee was unique and flavorful. read more

Very friendly service but this was a big miss. Pho broth was lacking, meatballs were cold in the middle, Bun noodles were cut into little tiny pieces, egg rolls were made with potato or something other than meet, and overall it just not the level I was expecting with such a high rating. read more

Great pho and reasonable prices, the staff were all very friendly. The space is on the smaller side, so perhaps keep that in mind if you go at busy times. read more

Stop what you are doing and go get the Pork Sub and thank me later! For someone whose favorite sandwich is the bahn mi, no notes. This was one of the best experiences and the staff was so incredibly kind.I will make it a point to go out of my way to visit Pholicious anytime I find myself in Vancouver! read more

Pretty hands down amazing Pho! I actually walked by... looked in.... kept walking and the amazing smell was in my head and it pulled me back after I walked a whole block. I looked like an idiot because I was walking fast and furiously l... stopped, drooled at the thought of Pho, turned around and walked back. Worth it! I was so lucky to grab a spot at the three person counter. From the moment I ordered to the moment I left, it kept getting busier and busier. What a cool shop! Huge selection of phos, sandwiches, fresh juices and shakes. Plan to crave this! I just finished about 30 minutes ago and now I want more. I might have to move here just to eat this weekly. the pho was amazing!!! we got the beef pho with peanut broth spicy. Very happy to hear that the broth was not pork and we could eat it! The service was amazing and the lady at the front was sooooo nice :) read more

Best rate steak pho!!! Let's start with this is the first literal hole in the wall pho place that I have ever visited. I love the fact that the menu is outside on the wall and that they are moderately priced. With a place called pholicious I had to try the pho!!! The cook preparing my food was very sweet and even made the broth spicy for me. The broth was great chicken/beef broth which made it sweet and not too beefy. There was just enough rare steak and plenty veggies. This was the best pho that I have tasted ever and I eat it frequently at different places. Atmosphere: You walk in the door and bam there you are at the food counter and cashier area. Their is a small dining table right out front and like 3 bar type chairs at the window but it is very tight. They get plenty business and most people take their food to go. read more

With piles of snow on the ground and below freezing temperatures, pho sounded like the perfect warm lunch. Pholicious came highly rated on yelp and was a few blocks away, so it seemed like a no brainer. This place is super tiny and is basically a slightly larger version of a walk-up window. There's a few stools inside and a table outside, but there's no way to eat comfortably in there, so it's basically a take-out joint. I had really high hopes for the pho after reading some reviews, but I was totally disappointed with my steak and meatball pho. Portion size was quite small for the price, there was literally only one meatball cut into quarters and a few slices of beef. The broth was incredibly bland and the only redeeming quality was the temperature of the broth. I'll skip Pholicious the next time I'm looking for pho in the downtown area. read more

3.5 stars. This is a hole in the wall place that serve pho, banh mi, etc. It's not a sit down restaurant because there are literally 2 counter seats... so it's best to get take-out and grab a seat across the street at the Harbour Centre food court! The place is really cramped but they make the best of the space with 4 people behind the counter. Super friendly lady that made a point to get to know me. Ordered the house special pho and it was ready in 3 minutes. Tons of noodles but there was a very small portion of meat. Broth was a bit saltier than expected and tasted kinda MSG-y. Was kind of disappointed and would've appreciated a little more beef/pork to go with the noodles. Note: Pholicious is conveniently located below/beside Delta hotel and across the street from SFU Harbour Centre. Perfect for students and visitors from out of town. I would recommend this place for a quick, no frills bite to eat but Vancouver has so much more to offer when it comes to Vietnamese food. read more

One of the best cheap lunches downtown. It's a tiny hole in the wall but they're super friendly and do a great job. The mega sub (bahn mi) has it all including avocado for $5.50. Pho soup is also quite tasty. Generally a takeout place but they have a few seats and some outside in summer. The owner somehow remembers everyone's name, seriously. And knows who my coworkers are... impressive! read more

A decent Pho place downtown. I used to eat here a lot until i moved to a new office and now I rarely get the chance to go in this area of town. I wnet here just recently and the the service and food as still remained the same except for the serving portions that may look to me has gone smaller. Still a good place to eat easy no fuss, cheap meals for lunch or even dinner.. read more

Quick service, delicious food. We had: Spring rolls - great flavor Pork vermicelli - pork mince at a whole new level Hot and sour shrimp noodle soup - PERFECT level of sour, piping hot broth Not much seating here, but honestly this place is so freaking delicious that they don't need a single chair to be considered a serious restaurant. read more

It took way longer to drive into Vancouver from Seattle than planned due to heavy traffic. We were tired and hungry by the time we checked into our hotel. Pho is perfect on a cold, rainy day and this place was right next to the hotel. We ordered 3 beef and 1 beef and meatball phos. The broth, noodles, meat and bean sprouts were packaged separately which is good. In the short walk to our room, everything stayed hot and was delicious. The broth was hot enough to cook the beef properly. I would come back for a simple hot Pho. read more

//OVERALL// Huge sized salad rolls where the house special or pork is the tastiest! Literally a hole in the wall so there's very limited seating area. //VENUE & SERVICE// Heard that this was a pretty great hole-in-the-wall place to get authentic Viet food...and boy was it really a hole in the wall! The service was nice but the seating was very limited, either inside on a small counter or outside next to the bustling streets were a few small foldout tables & chairs were. After you ordered to eat there, if you got a drink you can just grab it from their mini fridge beside the cash register, and once your food is ready they'll bring it to you. //THE FOOD// I only ordered their salad rolls which are quite large spring rolls that had vermicelli noodles, fresh veggies, and meat wrapped with rice paper and served with hoisin sauce. I wish they had some sort of variety in the sauces though...like fish or peanut sauce as well... House special salad roll 5/5- essentially pick 2 meats in your salad roll. I chose Pork and chicken and it was truly the best. Chicken Salad roll (4/5)- the chicken was seasoned well and everything tasted refreshing together. Shrimp salad roll (2.5/5)- Shrimp was underwhelming. My friend ordered the pho and it seemed to be a small portion but they are MSG free! read more

Best part of soups is broth. The chicken pieces were not great, soon, dark cuts.. Really SLOW. Maybe longest I ever waited for pho. read more

Tiny restaurant (5 people seating) with attentive service. It's a newly opened restaurant which offers 10% off on all items. Price overall it's expensive. Chicken banhmi costed $4.75 similar to Viet Sub and House special pho costed around $8. The portion for pho was so small and tasted pretty bad. Soup tasted very bland and beef slices tasted rubbery. Food didn't impress me much but Banhmi itself was alright. I'll just come back for Banhmi. It's best to get a take out. Last but not least they do take cash and credit card. read more

Great food at killer prices alongside a very friendly staff. Will be visiting whenever i'm back in Vancouver!

This is my favourite place to get my viet sub craving satisfied. Conveniently across from Harbour Centre, this petite restaurant serves Vietnamese cuisine like pho, spring rolls, and subs. I've been here a number of times and I absolutely recommend getting a sub. They always come loaded with ingredients and I also leave with a full stomach. They also ask you for your preferred spiciness level for it. So far, I tried the special and the mega, both of which were well seasoned. Overall, great service but expect some waiting, especially during lunch as they have a small number of staff. I did read that you can order online so that's something to try out as well. read more

Very good banh mi! I got the classic and ate it on my at Lynn Canyon. I also love the decor and how small and cute it was.

We had the classic sandwich and pho. Both were amazing, although my girlfriend said their bread used to be softer--but still it was awesome, we will be coming back every time we visit Vancouver. The lady who helped us out was very friendly, accommodating and helpful, she even recognized us the second time we went over. And I highly recommend their coffee too, iced or hot are both worth it. A tasty, inexpensive hole in the wall downtown. Lots of vegetarian and vegan items (clearly marked here). It's a tiny place, best frequented as a takeout place, but they also have three spots to eat in. They have pho, Vietnamese subs, and salad rolls, with vegan versions of everything. I ordered the veggie and tofu pho -- you can specify how spicy you want it (the highest level was moderately spicy). I also got a veggie salad roll. Very tasty pho, with plenty of veggies and tofu. Not the best in town, but excellent bang for buck. Total bill was just over $10 for everything. Very friendly staff. Good for a quick meal to-go. read more

Wonderful ladies working at my go-to work lunch spot! They learn names and quickly which adds something very special to what usually would be a quick exchange. I have had a little bit of everything on their menu and they've just recently expanded their variety with a list of specials. I usually go for the Chicken Noodle Pho but the last time I thought I'd try the special of Wontons with Veggies. Their broth is very flavourful and they always give me extra lime! Their salad rolls are really fresh made to order as well! The price is so right and you can find most items for under $10 - rare in VanCity. I will keep going back for the food and the friendly service! read more

This place is super duper small, so if the 2.5 tables they have outside are full, you'll probably have to get the food to go. We came here and tried the house special pho, which was a mix of chicken, beef balls, and beef. They also add spicy sauce to their pho, which you can have from 0 (none) to 3 (super spicy). I got the mild (1), but I was surprised that even the mild has a good deal of spice, which I wasn't that much of a fan of. Their pho is msg free, so it wasn't super salty. Normally I don't add hoisin sauce to my pho, but I think this time around I needed some extra flavor. The beef balls were meh and kinda rubbery, the beef was alright, but the CHICKEN OMG WAS DELICIOUS. I normally get the chicken pho elsewhere, but today I was really hungry and wanted the house special. Now I regret not getting chicken like I normally do because the chicken was amazing. It's roasted before-hand and added to the soup, so all the flavor retains in the meat. I would definitely come back just for the chicken. This place is also very reasonably price, and the food turnaround was fast even though there's only 3 ppl on staff, so a great place to stop for a cheap lunch. read more
