Top notch repair company. We have a high end Kitchenaid refrigerator that stopped working on a house we just bought. The fridge and freezer weren't cooling properly, and the icemaker stopped working. We had a home warranty (Hello Super Warranty hellosuper.com), and the home warranty sent a repair technician that said that the unit was not repairable. He said that he couldn't perform a leak test because of the type of refrigerator. The tech Phoenix Appliance Repair sent immediately diagnosed the issue - the refrigerator wasn't defrosting. (Vlad is the best!) The coils were completely frozen over where the freezer drawer is located. This is something the earlier technician never checked. After Vlad from Phoenix Appliance defrosted the unit, he found the root cause to be a faulty thermistor which he replaced pretty quickly. Well a day later we have ice again and a fully working fridge again. We can't be any happier. As we mentioned, the unit is high end and the home warranty was claiming we had a "pre-existing" condition and was not planning on doing anything. Typical. Vlad also quickly fixed a small issue we have with a built in Kitchenaid microwave/oven combo. This is a unit we purchased from a neighbor a few months ago that we were saving for our new house. Again this is a high end unit that costs $4K brand new. The oven door was not closing. It looked like it needed new hinges or something, and we think it was damaged during the move. I'm a new homeowner. The previous owner completely customized his kitchen by hand, but the dingbat installed the new custom flagstone flooring around the refrigerator, but not underneath it. Combine that with the custom cabinetry he built around the fridge, it is next to impossible to move. So when it started leaking from the back, Houston- we have a problem. I called my home warranty company, and after a few weeks of back and forth, they sent out a guy. He looked at it for 30 seconds and said "I can't fix this." After a few more weeks of back-and-forth arguing with the home warranty company, I got fed up and quoted Thanos: "Fine. I'll do it myself," completely aware of the irony that I would be calling a pro, because I'm as handy as a worm. So I called these guys, and my only gripe is that they had to delay my appointment by a few hours because of an emergency call. Overall, I had a decent experience. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that my dryer was making funny noises. Turns out, the drum was super loose. I reached out to Phoenix Appliance Repair, and they were pretty responsive. Vladimir is the person who performed my repair and he was very polite and professional. Although, I feel that the repair was a little pricey, $300 for a bearing and glide clips, but I needed a working dryer. Our Samsung dryer has been repaired 4 times now. Thermostat twice, heating coil twice. This is the only repair service that not only repaired the problems with the dryer but cleaned out the exhaust vent to the roof (slightly extra charge, but was the real culprit to all the mechanical failures). I rated a 3 since they were more expensive than the other 2 quotes I received for my built in refrigerator so I wouldn't use them again because of the higher pricing. Their diagnosis was correct but the markup on the labor/parts was excessive. The part was $200 online and came in 2 days and my husband repaired it with no knowledge of how to do it within 1 hour thanks to YouTube. PHX appliance repair quoted me $650 for the part and repair (seems like it was about $450 for less than 1 hour of work)... Other repair services charged about $450 for the repair so they were higher than competitors by $200 for the inverter board and even more if I would have had to fix other parts. Their communications and updates about arrival times were good and they were available when I needed them so that part was great. I had to ask for a written quote and the tech said they typically only give verbal quotes so that was different than I've experienced with other companies, esp when I paid the $75 diagnosis fee. read more

11/2/18 After numerous text and verbal conversations with the owner, my $75 service fee that I never asked for or demanded was returned to me so I would consider this matter closed. 10/30/18 I would not recommend using Phoenix Appliance Services to do any repair work. They took weeks to unsuccessfully try and find a part for my broken microwave door and I only got a response when I initiated the call. They never diagnosed the actual problem and rather than providing a formal quote speculated at what needed to be fixed. Our 16-year-old KitchenAid built-in broke down and we were worried that it was going to be time to replace it, which can be 8-10K. We called Phoenix Appliance Repair and literally within minutes, Vladimir returned our call. He was at the house at around 9am the same day to take a look at it. He ran tests to find the problem, and each time he encountered something, he took the time to explain it to me and show me the testing. It was one of those "creeping" issues where you fix one issue, only to find another. A job that was supposed to take a few hours turned into three visits of 2-3 hours each. Vladimir came out ASAP to repair our LG refrigerator with a bad compressor. LG has a class action suit against them for bad compressors. He was fast, efficient, and meticulous. I got a call from one of his technicians shortly after. We set up an appointment for Monday.
