Margarita Pizza Vegetarian
Chris S.

It's a really nice bistro in W Seattle; the staff is polite and accommodating. My partner had the Margherita pizza, which was really good. I had the bone-in lamb chops, which were extremely delicious. This place is great for date night or going fancy dinner out. Not particularly sure if I would bring my kids. The deserts were great; try the Phoenician drink, it was really delicious.

Sept 2024 Beet and arugula salad

We celebrated my sister's belated birthday here on Thursday Sept 26th and it was the perfect choice! Being 50 years in the business, this family run spot was very lively on a weekday. We had a wonderful time perusing over the Lebanese inspired menu. Our server Joe, and sommelier helped us navigate through the 17 bottles of red on the imported menu. During the entire evening, he was entertaining with his friendly banter. He hadn't sampled this bottle so we shared a small glass with him, which he gratefully accepted. The beet and arugula salad $14 was tasty as it was colorful! My sister loved their "Taste of Beirut" $9. Moist seasoned rice wrapped in grape leaves, Mm,mm good. The star of the night for me was the garlic buttered grilled lamb chops $44. Tender, succulent and seasoned just right! While the lamb was awesome, the green beans and whipped potatoes were underwhelming in comparison. For dessert Joe even presented my sister with Turkish Affogato. The ice cream slowly melted as we poured the hot coffee over the sweet scoop of dairy. It was a rich, creamy way to end a birthday dinner! I would definitely visit again when in West Seattle!

Terrific experience. The waitstaff was engaging and knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant is lovely with many little nooks for a quiet conversation . We ordered a slew of starters and really enjoyed everything. The server was very accommodating and brought us a side table to hold the excess which didn't fit on our table! It was a definite highlight to sop up the sauce of the 38 spices with crusts of the flatbread!

Amazing flavors and great service. The cocktails are always great and I recommend the lamb lollipops, saffron chicken, and mushroom gnocchi.

Came here for the first time as the food on the menu looked amazing. It did not disappoint. What added to the wonderful experience were the two sisters, Nadia and Sonya, and our waiter, Jeffrey. First, the highlights of the meal. The cocktails that we imbibed were Pretty in Pink and Take Me to the Beach. The visuals were amazing only to be followed by the taste of our cocktails. The trio of spreads and the cauliflower appetizer were to die for. Now for the great but some hmmms. For dinner we ordered the butternut squash risotto with goat cheese and the roasted mushroom risotto. While we loved both, the squash risotto really should have been named, goat cheese risotto topped with butternut squash. My own perception but I picture chunks or slivers of roasted butternut squash within the risotto, not simply a few pieces put on top. While this risotto was good, it was rather overpowered by the goat cheese. Followed by, wouldn't order again. The baklava. The flavor was okay, but it was dry. While one doesn't want their baklava swimming in honey, this definitely needed more of something. Also, while the ice cream had a lovely color, I felt like I was eating rose petals right from the garden. I don't know what was used, rose oil? Way too overpowering. Would I go again? Absolutely, not only for more of the same and different appetizers, but the ambiance and the genuine friendliness and caring about Phoenicia.

Jewel of the sea

Such amazing food we've been here now three times. You can't go wrong with anything on this menu I especially love jewel of the sea and the saffron chicken. The service can be a bit on the slower side, but everyone who works. There is so kind and helpful. The ambience is great for a date night because it's a bit of a dimmer or intimate space. I've seen kids at this restaurant, but they don't have a kids menu.

Baklava with rose ice cream

We arrived without a reservation, and were seated at the bar right away. Our server was attentive and resourceful. The food was fantastic, filling, and reasonably healthy. The baklava was a little bit dry but it paired well with the rose ice cream.

Ask to sit in Joe L.'s section! (He's in the center)

Absolutely delicious cuisine here, and the flavor combinations are so satisfying! And the chandeliers! Excellent service from friendly, adorable Joe L., whether he's waiting tables or bartending. We always sit in his section. Owner/operator Lisa must be a descendant of Cher; it's uncanny the resemblance!

My wife and I went tonight for Valentines Day. It was so good. It was only our second time there. We will be back. Everything was incredible. The lamb shank was fall off the bone. So good. My wife had the wild mushroom gnocchi with lamb sausage. It was incredible as well. The owners are so nice. They really make you feel welcome. We will be back soon

Lamb Chop Lollipop

The moment I walked in I was greeted welcoming by one of the owners. The ambiance is gorgeous and so calm. This is a long standing family owned business, I believe 50 years running now. Two sisters (Nadia and Sonia) own the business and have made sure to create such a great experience and continue the family legacy of their father and mother. My brother and I came in because we were on our way to a friend's food establishment but they were closed so I searched online to find something close. I was sold after seeing the picture of lollipop lamb chops; yummy. My brother was sold after hearing me say there is saffron chicken; mouth watering! The bartender Sonya (I apologize if I mixed the Soni/ya's up due to the I and the y; both awesome ladies) was great as well. We had a great conversation with a regular and we ate so much good food and shared everything. We got the green beans (don't pass them up), the lamb lollipops, saffron chicken linguini, pitta bread (to soak up all the sauces and savor the flavors), kale caesar salad, the fiery lamb pizza, the fig and pancetta pizza, and to top it off we got Mom's baklava. I also got a signature cocktail; of course I had to try The Phoenecia; which did not disappoint. Every drink I tasted was delicious and I will definitely be back to try more drinks, enjoy a convo with Nadia, Sonya, and Sonia, and set my tummy right with another great flavorful meal! If I lived in the west, I would be eating here at the least 2-3x's a week. The food and family were just that delicious!

The squash pizza was surprisingly good. I Googled everywhere not finding any similar recipe. Must be their chef's invention!

It's the kind of place where you settle in, sip something cold, and feel like the night's off to a solid start before a concert at the Moore. The salad came out looking vibrant, but the flavors didn't land. The olives took over the whole bowl, and the seasoning felt off and I couldn't pinpoint it. Fresh ingredients, such as the peas were the best by far but the balance just wasn't there. The pizza was fine, not bad, not memorable. It didn't leave you thinking about it later. The employee who eventually helped me was nice, but the overall experience still didn't feel welcoming or attentive. Over several visits, the service has just not matched the quality of the food. In this economy, it's truly a blessing for businesses to still have loyal customers coming through the door and wanting to support local spots. At the very least, customers should feel welcomed, appreciated, and taken care of when they walk in. I genuinely hope they improve the service side of things because the food has potential, the bar vibes they've created are pretty cool as well and I'd love to be able to give this place a better review in the future.

Upon arrival after 9:00 pm on a Tuesday, we asked to set in one of the booth but they said no because of their strict policy for the booth the used x 3 or more people. Meanwhile, all 4 booth were empty. The kind waitress then offered to move us to the bar booth if something opened up, we kindly agreed and simple went on with our night at different table. While on the table my friend picked up 3 small little flowers from the base and said happy birthday to me, and I put the little flowers on my hair, then I told the waitress I hope you don't mind, my friend gave this little flowers from the table it is my birthday, to which the waitress replied happy birthday, I have no problem with that!. Then comes the manager, and tells me sarcastically, that is a cute flower but it is not yours to take, you should have asked permission anyways, I told him with a smile, but is my birthday and it a tiny flower may I keep it? He stated no, because other costumers will come in and there are no flowers in the table. I told him to replace it with another from another table and he said No give it back now please. It is not yours to take!!! Me, already feeling unwelcome and missed treated, yet still stayed but couldn't even finish my pizza because of how upset I was. I told my friend I wanted to leave. After closing the tab, I walked upfront and waited for my friend. Upon walking outside, the managers comes after us screaming "hey give me back the flower" you took it, at this point I was still walking ahead on my friend and I can hear the manager yelling "she stole it" give it back now, she is a thief, you come here to steal is that it? I repeatedly, told him I didn't take it and even open my purse and told him to come search it, but he stormed back in while insulting and yelling to me IN PUBLIC! - I was deeply humiliated in front of absolute strangers. I didn't see my friend taking the flower either, and if he did, he never gave it to me otherwise, I would have throw it at his face. The luck of hospitality, professionalism, and simply compassion and dignity from this person is Absolutely Unacceptable. I was treated with far more respect and the Four Seasons (and they did give me flowers), than this ridiculous place. It is a shame that the owner would allow someone like this to be the front of the business. And I feel deeply sorry for their employees to have to endure this person as I saw on their eyes the embarrassment they felt. I deserve nothing else but an apology for the way I was treated. I too work in hospitality, I know what is like to provide costumer service providing healthcare and never in my wildest days would I ever treat anyone with such disrespect and unprofessionalism. I recommend this person to be replace or re train. Otherwise it will only affect the business.

They are the nicest people ever! So friendly and accommodating and always smiling. Their pride in their restaurant really shows in their care of the food and customers. I had the infamous meatball sandwich and my wife had the chicken carbonara. They gave us each a slice of their pizza for free as they had a bit extra from one that just came out of the oven. The food was prepared in front of you which is always interesting to watch and the charming brick pizza oven was directly in front of us so we could watch that process as well. Pretty cool. There are a wide variety of pizzas and pastas, desserts and drinks (alcohol too!) available on the menu. We ate at at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the owners as they bustled about in the open cooking area. I enjoyed my meatball sandwich which had great crunchy crusty bread that held in the contents of melted cheese, red sauce and meatballs. A great choice to get when there. My wife liked her chicken carbonara and as the portion was pretty large, we were able to take some home for later. Extra yummy for me (ha ha)! The complimentary pizza slices were a hit for us as well. Napoli style with thin crust and flavorful toppings. We found out that Goli created the restaurant's design with the face of a woman that looks a lot like Venus in "The Birth of Venus" painting by Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence Italy (just sayin'). Except that this logo has hair made of pasta! Good enough to eat! Give this place a try. You'll leave with a big smile on your faces!

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. They need to work on their timing. Need at least 10 minutes in between the beer and apps. The food overall is admittedly top notch. Fish and chips FRESH! The fish was juicy and the fried crust was perfection. Pieces were large. They will ask if you want 3 or 4. 3 is enough. Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot.
