Their vegan pho comes with tofu and tons of veggies, and yes, the broth is truly vegan (and worth having even on a warm day!). I've been waiting for more than 30 minutes for ordering Togo. I think they forgot my order because they came out to ask what I was waiting for. Keep in mind a group of 9 people were being served while I ordered. I ordered pho with egg noodle. They came out later to tell me they don't have that...30 minutes later. This is the place where I tried pho for the first time and I recommend that you try it too. This food is extremely delicious and the service is great. The ambience is sort of an Asian vibe and the decoration adds a nice touch to the place. She mentioned how she just took ownership and re-designing and decorating the cute little shop that has more than enough seating with the extension outside The Lemon Grass Tofu Bahn Mi Sandwich was so yummy! Everyone loved their Pho and i really liked my Vermicelli Noodles and my Garlic Beef Spring Rolls. I really loved the red sweet and spicy bottled sauce on the table . Used to live in Cypress so we had a place we'd go to all the time. Finally decided it was time to find a place closer to where we live now. Walked in to Pho99 and could not of been more happy that we did!! Small place, pho is amazing!! Really hit the spot! Owner came out and showed us all the sauces to add. Wife loved that their chili paste didn't have her needing to call a fire truck. Portion size was bigger than our old place, so I get 2 meals out of it. I called the order in and the gentleman that took the call knew about the replacement -even if it was awhile back when I made that first order. He said he was going to get my order done straight away. I arrived and my order was ready -and still hot. Also, the man who took my order said he threw in a more pieces of chicken to make up for last time. Super appreciated that! We sat inside for the cool a/c, but they also have a very nice patio area. Both my wife and I had the Combo Pho and a Thai Iced Coffee. It is rare we order the same items, but we are both pleased we did. Everything was delightful. The portions are more than ample. Like other reviews have said, the pho broth IS bland. I got the $13 regular Beef Pho which came with 5 slices of beef and bland broth. This restaurant probably tries to cater to their location so some flavors are omitted, I'm not sure. I will stick to getting pho in Garden Grove/Bolsa. I love that there is a legit pho restaurant in Los Alamitos. The owner and chef was in while my family of four dined here. Unfortunately, they don't offer high chairs but my kids were fine sitting at the booth. The owner was so kind and gracious, she made a point to talk to us and see if we were good and enjoyed our food. It's very much a mom and pop place which adds character to the place. The dining room is very small so large parties are better off getting take out. Parking was easy. The restroom was a bit of a trek (you have to go outside and walk to the back). The mom and pop feel, and the way the woman (owner) shows kindness and care has a total mom vibe to it. The place has plenty of parking and is almost hidden tucked in the corner. Quite spacious for a small place about 5 tables. Overall, the chicken and flavors were good. My son loved the noodles he ate the whole bowl! Only thing that was truly missing was the garnishes I was very surprised that I DIDN'T get any bean sprouts, basil, lime wedges, jalapeños, or even onions. I don't think I've ever been to a Pho place that didn't serve this. At first I thought this place didn't serve them but after looking at some photos I just didn't get them for whatever reason. Amazing beef pho! The lady working there (owner maybe?) came over to make sure I knew what I was doing and kindly showed me how to make a little side dip for my beef. The broth was rich and delicious, and it was a nice amount of noodles, meat, and broth for being a size regular. I don't know why this is so highly rated. The staff were friendly and attentive but I will not be returning to this establishment, the food is not worth it. The pho broth has no flavor and was more oil than flavor, it was very bland. There's nothing rich about the broth, it was disappointing. Their Thai tea is not strong, it tastes like milk and not like Thai tea at all. They filled my cup less than halfway with Thai tea when I asked for no ice. I asked for ice afterwards and then my drink was filled. Paying $4.75 for Thai tea and more than half of it is ice is a scam. The beef pho was $10.95 and the brisket pho was $13.95. In total paid $33.28 for a mediocre meal. read more
