I went here on an early morning right at opening time, I wanted to take some hot pho and spring rolls to scarf them down at home. Well, I stepped inside 10 minutes after opening and the older gentleman immediately gave me a look that my business wasnt wanted. I was the first customer that day clearly, and I felt like I shouldn't have gone in so early? Since I made a drive, I asked for a menu for to-go order and he proceeded to give me menu and go about cleaning the floor. The whole restaurant had the smell of cleaning products plus some old food stench. I asked for pho and tofu spring roll to-go and he asked me if thats it. I said yes and he said ok come back in 10-15 min so I actually had to leave restaurant (I cant remember if I decided to walk back to my car or walk across the street to Hong Kong Market to browse little bit or both because I got a bit anxious by the service I received). Food was mediocre at best. Broth was a bit salty for me, noodle was not soft, Spring Roll was fine. I will not return to this business again solely from the experience I had. I know that this place is much loved, long standing local restaurant with lots of support and I know I cant judge a place from just one visit, but once was enough for me.

They were quick and friendly. No complaints. Food: love the food here. I had the quail fried rice thay came with salad and a side of the pho broth. Broth is flavorful, so Im sure the pho is good. The quail was also marinated nicely, with a tomato based fried rice which was not oily, and just the right amount of flavor. We also ordered two orders of spring rolls, which was more than we thought! One order is the one plate of 2 spring rolls cut in half - so four pieces. Pleasant surprise i suppose, more spring rolls!

Perfect spot for Vietnamese street food and late-night cravings, but a nightmare of a parking lot…read more My family was visiting from California last month, and naturally we needed to find somewhere to feed our party of 6 after our Seattle tourist trip. We arrived around 9 PM on a Thursday; I picked this restaurant because we were all craving Vietnamese food, and thankfully La Cà Bar is open late enough that we were still able to spend time eating together over a yummy meal. We sat downstairs since we were there primarily for the food and wanted to actually sit down and eat together. It was pretty empty when we arrived aside from one table, and we were able to seat ourselves wherever we wanted. They close at midnight, so arriving around 9 PM still gave us plenty of time to order, eat, and enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed. And then we proceeded to order an unreasonable amount of food. Everything we tried was delicious. The spring rolls were definitely superb (especially when dipped in the sauce), and I highly recommend getting a few for the table because apparently my family and I devoured them ASAP while waiting for our main course. I had to get the Bánh Xèo, because I have absolutely no self-control when I see it on a menu. The crepe was savory, filling, and delicious. Since it was cold that night, I also ordered Bún Bò Huế, because apparently being cold means I need to consume an entire bowl of spicy soup. I personally missed the classic cubes of pork blood that I usually expect in Bún Bò Huế, but it was still flavorful and satisfying without them. I also noticed the food here leans more toward Northern Vietnamese-style cuisine, but everything we had was still really tasty. I somehow managed to finish most of my food despite ordering enough to feed a second family. My family enjoyed their meals too. My son got a bánh mì without the garnish and was impressed by how huge and satisfying it was. Teenagers can be difficult to impress, so when the teenager says the bánh mì is huge and good, I listen. Our server was also really nice and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Now, parking... Oh, sweet Jesus. The parking lot is TIGHT. The surrounding streets aren't particularly spacious either. If you have an SUV like myself, or anything larger, prepare yourself. I was genuinely relieved when I got back into my car and discovered that my vehicle had survived the evening without acquiring any new battle scars. But honestly? Worth it. The best part for me was how nostalgic the food felt. Vietnam is the country where I was born, so getting to sit down with my family and eat Vietnamese street food that reminded me of home was really special. We live far from where I grew up, so finding food that brings back even a little bit of that familiarity means a lot. And after moving away, I really appreciate those little moments where a meal can transport you somewhere for a couple of hours. So yes, 5 stars. Great late-night option, delicious food, friendly service, generous portions, and a menu that scratched the Vietnamese food itch perfectly.

There was a small line outside and we waited patiently for a few minutes. Once inside, we were seated at the counter and it was packed, a little hot and everything smelled delicious. My friend and I both ordered the duck and pork noodle soup and it was maybe the best noodle soup I've ever had. The pork had crispy skin, the duck was soft and flavorful. It was all just so delicious. The iced coffee was strong and sweet. We also got the dessert. Make sure to add durian if they ask. It made it 1000x better if that's even possible. The dining area is quite small, so I usually order to go. The food itself is good. The barbecue duck is flavorful and reasonably priced around 35 dollars for a whole duck, and the roast pork at around 16 dollars per pound is also a good value. I really like their broken rice, and the pickled jalapeños with sauce makes the meal feel complete. However, the dining experience has some challenges. The space can get crowded, ventilation isn't great, and seating by the door can be uncomfortable. Service also feels stretched at times, since the same person may be cooking, handling chairs and serving. I'd give it four stars. The food is worth trying, but improvements in seating, airflow, and service would make it a better overall experience.

Wish I would have paid more attention to the lower ratings. This place was real bad. I have used Yelp to find places but never signed up to review until today due to my dissapointment. I am Vietnamese so I have stayed with more pho at home, but was out and wanting to try this place while shopping. I am now shocked at what all the good reviews are about. I am assuming its from people who do not know real Vietnamese cuisine. The spring rolls were fine but our soups were bad, it is obvious they do not make the broth the traditional way we are supposed to. It was very light in flavor and missing most of those great spices we use. One of our vegetarian dishes actually had 3 pieces of chicken, honest mistake? I am not sure but my friend cannot have anything with any animal part. We had asked previously is it was a vegan dish and we were assured it was, obviously not, even found out that the broth they use is not vegan?!?! It is best to just cook this at home, I know many of you do not know how to cook Pho so finding a place is important, soo good luck with this one. This place was like lord of the flies, either dead or dying.. YUCK, I do not want to eat in the company of flies, dead or alive. read more

I'm not a fine connoisseur when it comes to pho so I can't really compare it with other pho establishments. As long as it's not too salty or really bland I'm satisfied. The first time I ever had pho was here with my parents and they must be doing something right cause tnat's still my restaurant of choice when I desire some good old Vietnamese noodles. They also serve Korean and Chinese food if you have someone in your party who doesn't like pho but is being dragged in with a party. Their fresh spring rolls are indeed excellent! Service is somewhat mediocre to poor, don't drink all your water at once cause you don't know when you'll get a refill. Not sure if that's a poor service thing or a cultural thing. I go here all the time with my family because its fairly close to us than other Pho places. I have to say the food here is alright but what's really cool about this place is the magic tricks they perform. If you order pho here often you'll notice that pho bowls will slide across the tables by themselves. Other cool tricks is that if you ever order anything outside of the entree, it'll seem like they are writing it down but then it'll completely disappear off their notes and minds and you'll never get it. with jokes aside, 3 stars y'all. read more
