Pho Thy used to be my favorite pho place where I used to live. I had gone a few more times when visiting my parents, but it wasn't the same. I found out that Kelly is no longer the owner. I immediately confirmed that based on the quality of the food. The broth was bland, the rare steak is no longer the marinated filet with the flavor of lemongrass. It's just plain slices of rare eye of round beef like most typical pho places. The spring rolls were lower quality compared to Kelly's. It was the same for the Vietnamese Egg Rolls. It's unfortunate they didn't inherit the quality and flavors of the original Pho Thy. I think a better option would be Pho Vi-Vi. read more

Went to pho thy. Bf got a Pho Ga and I got the Special Pho. Both of us thought our broths were very flavorful and delicious. We both really enjoyed it. He said they have more chicken than some of the other places he been too and it tastes amazing. The viet coffee was pretty good as well, it was strong and more on the bitter side. The tables had lots of random cracks in it and the place definitely looked a little old. read more

Visited the restaurant with the new owners yesterday and even talked to one of them! Everyone was so kind and welcoming! I was hesitant when I saw the menu had been changed but I tried the special pho and it was sooooo good! I loved it! My favorite place for a combination pho and a Vietnamese iced coffee!! I normally place the order on the phone and it's ready in less than 10 minutes. Sometimes there's a little language barrier on the phone, but I have never been given the wrong order. On a side note; this restaurant seems to be a family owned restaurant. I love walking in to pick up my food and it's like walking into a family meeting. Staff is always so friendly. read more

Honestly my go to spot for pho near home. I absolutely love the broth. Something about it always makes me feel absolutely better. It helps that it's also so tasty. I'm rounding up the numbers but $12 bucks for a small bowl of pho, but I usually get the combo which comes with a drink and 2 delicious egg rolls or spring rolls for $15. Those egg rolls are big and extremely flavorful. It has a good crunch to it. And the sauce youdip it in? SPICY, If you love spicy it's fantastic. It's a pretty quiet restaurant. Never too noisy. Stop by for sure to enjoy their delicious food. read more

Been coming here more frequently since Pho Binh's closure. Pho Thy is located in the same strip mall with Ben Thanh Food Market and Family Dollar on the corner of Fuqua and Sabo. They have started serving pho with fresh rice noodle but today I wanted to try one of their less known dish on the recommendation of the waiter. Bun Bo Hue has a distinct flavor that's can probably be described as pho's sexy cousin. They executed the Bun Bo Hue very well here. Great balance of sweet and umami flavors that's created by the fermented shrimp paste. The restaurant do get crowded on the weekends but during the week you never have to wait for a table and the food will come to the table faster than a cheeseburger at McDonald's. read more

We've been here many times, and long story short: it's good quality pho for a decent price. Their portions are generous. $7 for small, $8 for large, and $9 for XL. They give a lot of vermicelli & meat for the cost. Broth is hearty. I always get the large pho tai. After going to mediocre pho places with small portions at an astronomical price, this was refreshing. Service is as expected, not super personable but gets the job done. Bathrooms smell really strange and this place really lacks cleanliness, as many other authentic Vietnamese restaurants do. If you're able to overlook this, you'll enjoy your dining experience. 1 star off for a disappointing experience we've had coming here during our last visit. The place closes at 8 PM on Sundays. We drove nearly an hour with my grandma, arriving at 7:30. When we came in, they refused to serve us and said the kitchen had been closed down for the evening. They couldn't make any exception. While we respect that the employees wanted to go home, it was very frustrating not knowing they'd close down so soon, and 30 minutes is really early to have closed the place down, leaving our elderly grandma hungry and confused. read more

Why did it take me this long to write a review for Phở Thy? This has been my family's go-to phở spot for years. We honestly don't get our phở elsewhere. We always order their phở and can I say, it's the hands-down best damn bowl in town! When they bring it out of the kitchen, it's visually stunning. The broth isn't covered with a floating layer of beef fat compared to other places, and the smell is so inviting. You can tell they've been cooking this broth for hours. Another plus is that the bowl comes out piping hot. I recommend tasting a sip of the broth before you add anything. It's so rich, pure, and hearty. Honestly, we usually eat without any additional condiments because it's that good on its own. But you can add hoisin sauce, sriracha, and lime to enhance the flavors. I usually order the đặc biệt or special combo, which has all of the beef cuts. My favorites are the flank and filet mignon. They're so tender that they almost melt in your mouth. For your vegetables, my mom always orders the bean sprouts steamed and the vinegared onions. Trust me. Overall, for the price and value, I highly recommend this place to anyone willing to make the drive to Phở Thy. read more

Yall should try tex pho 10 away, cheaper and waaaay better, & they dont charge for lemons and needed condiments, this place has their Sriracha in ketchup packets and charge for more than 1, ridiculous & i'm pretty sure they make up their prices depending on the customer read more

We've been to Pho Thy for many years. it is always good Pho here. But today, I have 'Com Tam' (the Broken Rice with Pork Chop); the grill pork is so tender enough and taste great. My son enjoys his 'Bo Ne' the Fajitas Beef and meat balls serve with french bread. My wife loves the pho serve with new fresh noodles. we have a good time and everyone enjoys the good. read more

Omg what a hidden hole in the wall for pho! By far my favorite pho place now. Where have you been? I ordered the pho tai gan and it was delicious! The soup base did not need anything added to it. It was the perfect savory broth that warms your heart and soul. The meat omgggg! You can tell it was made with love; im guess it was crafted with salt and pepper and maybe lime was added. It was well beaten because the meat was soft and it breaks apart so easily. It goes great with the pho. One down side was I had a lot of noodles in my bowl though. I was too full to eat all the noodles. If they had added less noddles it would make me crave for more. But overall it was worth the drive for me. I live 45 mins away. The place does not smell great when you enter, but don't let that make you run. The pho is worth it!!! My husband and son also killed their pho. The service was quick too. We were surprised that the pho came out fast. We literally just placed an order too. read more

I have been going to Pho Thy for over 10 years or every since they opened. I have brought my grandkids here every since they were born. We usually eat Beef PhoSliced Rare Beef SteakSpring Rolls etc. They have never failed to give the best service and food you could get. I eat here at least once a week. I have tried many Pho shops. This one excels way above all the rest. I would highly recommend Pho Thy to anyone. read more

Customer of over 7 years. The food never fails to be excellent. The staff are all very kind and respectful. The restaurant's atmosphere is filled with family, love, and overall joy for food and socializing. I never get judged as well for the color of my skin, they way I look, etc. from going to other places compared to here. Came with my family for dinner since we were craving pho. The pho was very flavorful and actually had a good amount of meat in it. Let me start by saying I'm not a pho kinda guy. So I did not order the PHO. I had the grilled beef with steamed rice and a fries egg on the side. It was a tasty and well portioned dish. 8/10 for flavor. It's not the best I've had but it's seems authentic and very affordable. I went with a large group of co-workers, about 12 of us. Most of them had the pho, it's served in very large bowls. They seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed their meals. It's a very casual restaurant, not the cleanest, not the newest, but it has a steady stream of diners come through while we were there. The wait staff was friendly but did have a little problem taking our orders, good thing we had two Vietnamese speakers dining with us. If ever I'm in the mood for some Vietnamese style food I will consider stopping by there again. read more

Came here based on my date's recommendation. This is probably hands down my favorite pho place near my area. The broth is so rich and light, the meat was tender, the noodles cooked perfectly; it was just a sweet melody of flavors that graced my palate. It's a rather small place and I would not have expected to come in here if I had just seen it in passing. It's a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. I honestly didn't think that it would end up being as busy as it was, but it was. The only thing is the ratio of noodles to meat was a bit off. There was more meat than there were noodles, not that that bothered me too much, but I would have enjoyed more noodles with every bite of meat. Overall, I do have to say that this place has the best pho around. I would definitely recommend this place to any fellow pho lovers and I plan on coming back for sure. read more

This could possibly be the best pho I've ever had. It is a hole in the wall type of place but don't let it fool you! I've recommended many friends because it's that great! Their brother is so flavorful and savory that you really don't need to add much. They are also very generous with their meat portions. MUST TRY: Vietnamese iced coffee - I personally think it's the best that I have had! It is a little thick so take that in mind but I personally have no complaints. We visited Pho Thy after a recommendation from a friend. This is probably the best Pho I've had on this side of town. Everything tastes authentic and is prepared within moments. The portion sizes and prices are very reasonable. The restaurant itself is large and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and patient. We enjoyed the Vietnamese egg rolls, beef Pho in the baby and medium sizes. We will definitely be back and recommend that everyone stop by. read more

I have been contemplating the move to SE Houston. My fiancee and I have been house searching and this area seems to be the most affordable right now. As we are searching we have been getting hungry! One of the stops we have been able to visit is this Pho restaurant. Their broth is actually quite solid and their tai (raw beef) is seasoned well. Some places just give you unflavored beef here it is marinated and tenderized. The service can be spotty depending on when you come. It seems to be the best in the area. It's not on the same level as Bellaire, but I never knew there was a small pocket of Vietnamese restaurants in this area. read more

This is a good restaurant for pho if you live far away from Chinatown in Houston. I bought a small size for pho for $7 and received a good amount of meat and vermicelli. I recommend this place for it's good quality and amount of pho for a decent price. Service is average, but the pho is great based on the location (there's not that many good Vietnamese restaurants nearby) and its decent price. read more

The location is a bit unassuming, and parking is definitely tough (the spaces are very shallow), but the second we walked through the doors and smelled the Szechuan peppercorns, I knew we were in exactly the right place. I generally judge a Szechuan restaurant by their 夫妻肺片 (Fuqi Feipian)--which they cleverly name "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" on the menu. They completely nailed it. The beef, tripe, and tendon were incredibly cohesive together, yet you could tell each component was prepared and marinated in a slightly different way to perfectly highlight its specific texture. The chili oil was right on the spot. We went through a massive bowl of rice just eating this dish alone. Honestly, if I weren't feeding a family of four, I could have just ordered that and been perfectly happy. While the Fuqi Feipian proves their skill with dry dishes, the 水煮魚片 (Fish in Szechuan Hot Chili Oil) proves their skill with wet ones. It's another must-order. The execution was flawless--we didn't just finish the tender fish chunks, we ate every last piece of cabbage soaked in that incredible chili broth. For my two daughters who can't handle the heat, we ordered the fried rice, garlic pork ribs with onion, and the 紅燒獅子頭 (Giant Meatball with Cabbage). The giant meatball was spectacular.
