I'm absolutely astounded that a person was allowed to have their non-service dog at a table inside this restaurant. I saw the dog with his paws on the table. He was not on the floor. This is clearly a health violation. I'm done with one of my favorite places in Kyle to eat. I've been a customer of Pho Taison even before they opened in Kyle but no longer. Cons: The greeter/server was "mid" as the youth say...not especially nice (just takes order and brings food). However, if you're white, the owner will tell you "thank you, come again"... otherwise there's a "buy and leave" ambience. The meat was not high quality for the price point. This is a really good local spot and they have a very extensive menu of not just pho but sushi, Vietnamese food, appetizers and more. All of their ingredients are really fresh and they will make what you want to order as well. I really enjoy the beef pho. The customer service is really good and they have a great beer list. I went here two nights in a row for dinner and it never disappointed! The fried dumplings are a fantastic appetizer I could probably eat two orders by myself. read more

Each time I come here I get more and more disappointed. I hate doing this kind of thing, but as a vietnamese woman and a vietnamese food lover, I feel like I should! I've ordered Pho to-go 3 times during COVID and am less satisfied each time I order. This time, I got pho with fatty brisket and rare steak. I received 2 pieces of brisket and like 5 thin slices of steak. For an entire bowl of pho? That costs ~$13.50? That's kind of (if not absolutely) ridiculous to me. The flavor here is pretty decent, but I ultimately don't think it's worth the price. I'd recommend pho 99 just right across the highway. Their pho is cheaper and they give you HUGE portions! My wife and I, having lived in Asia and traveled as well as sampled cuisines from various Asian countries, loved our visit to Vietnam almost a decade ago. So one evening, while contemplating what to have for dinner, we thought we'd try the Asian restaurant by the HEB in Kyle. Pho Thaison...is it Vietnamese? Or is it Thai? Well, after stepping inside and looking at their menu, it looks like both...and then some more. They also serve sushi, of all things. Whenever I see "fusion" or a menu that can't seem to decide what the specialty is and just hoped to take a scattergun approach to see what they hit, I get a bit guarded and skeptical of the quality of their offerings. I think, this establishment knows it can't pull off an authentic dish so they'll try to mask it under the banner of "fusion cuisine". So, it is with this trepidation that we placed our order. The menu looked pretty extensive. We opted for the steamed buns with spicy braised brisket as an appetizer. For our main dish, I ordered the beef loc lac (aka Angus shaken beef) and my wife tried the Vietnamese crepes. The steamed buns were decent, with the pickled vegetables pairing well with the tender beef, although the spicy sauce didn't cover all the ingredients and was left only for the last bite. The shaken beef had decent flavors but paled in comparison to similar dishes I've had in SoCal and even in a Vietnamese restaurant in Paris' Latin Quarter. I also didn't care for my leafy vegetables drowning and wilting in the warm juices of the beef. My wife thought her crepes were decent but she too was left wanting more flavor. She did say the portions were pretty big. Service was a bit spotty. For our appetizer, we would've preferred to each have a saucer or small plate to catch drippings from the steamed buns. Additionally, the plastic glasses our drinks were served in must've taken quite a beating as my wife's drink seeped through a crack which almost flooded our table and the server was slow to react. All in all, a so so experience...but not enough to preclude a return visit. Dinner for 2 came out to just under $38 with tip. read more

Love their pho here as this is the best place to get an authentic big full bowl of goodness in Kyle, TX USA. I recommend the veggie pho as I love the broth, but the chicken always smells and looks good when I see others order it. I have also had their bahn mi's here as well and it was delicious. This place is vegetarian friendly for sure but unsure about vegan. Service is prompt, especially at lunch, and if you don't mind sitting/sharing a long table with someone else who is lunching solo then you should be good on time during your lunch. Safe bet for you if you are in the mood for pho or a bahn mi sandwich which is hard to come by in these Kyle parts. read more

So, they have one of my favorite vietnamese dishes, Bahn Xeo, Vietnamese Crepe. I have been eating this dish for over 30 years and have eaten it in many restaurants. It is always crispy and delicious. You wrap it up in lettuce with veggies, dip it in fish sauce and enjoy. The crepe here is not crispy, it's like they saw pictures of the crepe and were told what the ingredients were and they made a crepe the traditional way. It is soggy, like a french crepe with too much liquid in it. They only give you 1 piece of lettuce for 2 crepes, which isn't even close to enough. There are no shredded carrots or cucumbers to eat with it and it's a bit more spicy than normal, but I actually like the flavor. They just need to get it crispy. I also had an egg roll, which was tasty and very crispy. Luckily it had lettuce on the plate, which I saved to eat with my crepe. The staff here has always been friendly and the restaurant is always clean and welcoming. Overall, it's a good restaurant, except for the crepe right now. read more

Yummy sushi lunch with the grand today! The sushi was fresh and my Vietnamese Noodle Bowl with grilled pork and an egg roll was enormous! Not a drive-out-of-your-way place, maybe, but pretty good. I want to thank the Pho Thaison Team. I had catering done through them and it was amazing. Our guest of over 30 people, who are mostly Vietnamese, enjoyed the variety of food they brought. The food delivered was hot, fresh, and most importantly delicious. The portion sizes were great and we had a great amount leftover. We ordered the grilled meats (chicken and beef), the pork banh mi, chicken banh mi, eggrolls, pad Thai noodles, large order of steam rice, and grilled marinated tofu. They also included all the sauces, catering utensils, serving tools, and were very thoughtful with the extra to-go containers. Their responsiveness to fulfill my order was exceptional. Their efforts to make me feel like a valued customer was beyond expectation. Again, I'm truly grateful for them to make this event a big hit. Went yesterday 10/4 (Friday) at 9:30, sat in a booth with my son already knowing what we were ordering. I was barely greeted by my server Johnathon who brought me water in a dirty glass (I didn't bring my phone inside for once), he made me feel absolutely rushed, and as if I was an inconvenience at that hour. The vibe through the whole restaurant was that everyone was ready to get out of work to party on a Friday night. I overheard another server tell his table that they close @9:45, which posted hours clearly list 10pm. I got beef pho, along with a kid portion for my son. The food came out rather quickly which was nice, but the all the vegetables on the side (basil, cilantro, sprouts) looked wilted and absolutely dry like they'd been sitting on the counter all day, not fresh at all. I rushed to finish my food as staff kept pacing by my table, then went to help my son finish his. He did not care for the beef, so I tried eating it - I couldn't help but noticed it tasted a little sour, so I did not finish the last 2 strips. I've been a couple of times prior to yesterday and had good experiences with food and service, but this was the worst experience thus far. We've been eating there since they opened up and the quality of their sauces has gone down hill. We had the roasted pork bowl yesterday and the sauce was very watered down. Not nearly as good as it was prior to the Covid Pandemic. I'm not sure if they are under new management, but their prices are up and their quality is down. Good for them but looks like I will be looking for another place to eat Bowls or Pho? The last time I had the Pho and the broth had no flavor? My daughter's family and I love this place. The steamed buns appetizer is great. The buns are so soft and light it's like eating a cloud. I usually get the lemongrass pork banh mi, which is delicious! My granddaughter (just turned 10), loves the L.A. Roll and the pearl drinks. The service is also good here. Especially the male server we had last time (I wish I remembered his name). He was great with my granddaughter. Far too expensive given the portion size and overall quality of the food. I've had the pho here several times, and each time I find their broth quite lacking and both meat quantity and quality disappointing. I've tried their pad thai, which is not at all an authentic presentation of the dish, as well as the lemongrass chicken and pork dishes, along with their banh mi. The service I've received here has been mediocre at best each time, with servers taking forever to even take my order. The overall consensus I unfortunately reach each time is that the food is far too overpriced for what you're paying. It's disappointing, as I want to support local businesses and Vietnamese food is one of my favorites, but I just cannot justify recommending this place to anyone. I was so disappointed. In 2020 I had terrible take-out, but hoped it was just pandemic related. Then I saw good reviews so i decided to go back for lunch, hoping it would be better so I could go in the evening with my husband or friends. I had the Chicken and Egg Roll Vermicelli. The egg roll was dry and tasteless. The great greens that usually accompany this dish were non-existent. No mint, basil and very little cilantro. Mainly bland head lettuce. Fish sauce was also bland, and no other condiments were provided...all the delights of the dish were missing. The waitress might have been having a bad day. Tried the beef Bánh Mi sandwich, the chicken pho, and a rainbow roll. Here's the breakdown: BÁNH MI - the sandwich was excellent. My expectations were low as this is like a chain type restaurant but this exceeded my expectations 100%. The roll on it had a nice char and there was a pleasant smokiness to the meat that left me wanting more. THE PHO - the pho was awesome. The chicken came on the side and was the only thing that was lackluster for the soup segment. It was tasted like rubbery boiled chicken with no love whatsoever. Once it was in the soup it was still rubberier than a ducky but it still went down the hatch. The broth was top notch though and tasted like the pho house I used to visit often in CA. THE RAINBOW ROLL - this tasted just like grocery store bought sushi. There's nothing here. Don't bother with the sushi. Summary: I'll be coming here again for my Bánh mi and pho fix 100% but I would not order the sushi for my worst enemy on their birthday. So far I've been here twice and since I'm spending the next three weeks in Kyle Texas, I know I'll be back. The first and most noticeable thing about this restaurant is the friendly staff. I'm not saying they love their jobs, but they Are always friendly and definitely appreciate their customers. The first day I went here everything was excellent. I tried a variety of dishes to get a feel for the place. One of my favorites was the tempura vegetable sushi roll. On my second visit I tried some other things and they were all very tasty except I wasn't a huge fan of the dynamite shrimp because the batter seemed to lack flavor. The veggie springrolls were awesome. If my opinion changes over my next few visits, I will be sure to update my review. read more

I frequently eat here and I'm sad to say that my pork belly and egg plate I ordered, only had two tinyyyyyyyyyy pieces of pork belly. The tiny black meat you see in the picture was the second piece of meat I received; the first one was even tinier! There's legitimately no more meat in that whole container of what's supposed to be pork broth or something. The meat was a bit hard, I'm assuming it was overcooked. The boiled egg was HARD, RUBBERY, and completely inedible. I think it might've been extremely overcooked or just old, idk. $13.50 went down the drain and I even had this ordered togo from UberEats so a waste of even more money oops lol. read more

Ordered during the COVID-19 pandemic as I'm preggo and was craving some of their delicious curry! I ordered online on their website through a third party site called Toasty and it was a breeze. They didn't tack on any extra fee for me to order online and I was able to provide a tip upon completion. We ordered California rolls, Curry with Chicken, Chicken Pho and Crab Rangoon. The online order said it would take 30 minutes and I called 20 minutes later as I had been parked in the parking lot since I placed the order. They said it was ready and to just walk in and pick it up from their designated online to-go order table. I wish they would've called as soon as it was ready, but anywho the food was still delicious as always and I'm grateful they were open as they greatly satisfied my pregnancy cravings that day!
