I'm shocked at the low reviews. Driving to Kyle yesterday was the highlight of our week, possibly our month. I've never had Saigon curry before, and it definitely hit the spot. My husband had the lemongrass chicken vermicelli, and my daughter had the kid's beef pho. The star of the evening was the salmon skin handroll, so crispy and delightful! I'm moving to Kyle in a couple weeks so I decided to see if this location lived up to the Pho Thaison location on Anderson lane. I think I've learned that they're two separate businesses however I was NOT disappointed :). I ordered the beef pho with meatballs and two types of brisket. My wife ordered the chicken pho. We also got a sushi roll because the other restaurant I'm used to didn't have sushi and I wanted to give it a try. The reason I love the north Austin Pho Thaison location is because the broth is so flavorful and the brisket is melt in your mouth delicious - the pho I got here was on par and possibly even slightly better. My wife enjoyed her bowl as well. Waiting staff was attentive and friendly. I can't wait to come back on my own and just enjoy a bunch of sushi and drinks in the evening. I've ordered delivery pho from this place before, so today we decided to visit the restaurant. Jeez. I don't think I've ever seen such filth and poor food safety practices in my life. The ceiling filters are so charred and filthy they look like they've been burned! The pendant lights are crawling with spiders and chunks of collected dust & dirt are falling off of them. The menus themselves are covered in rotting food and falling apart. Our waitress deliver food with her fake fingernail imbedded in our food. This was thee most disgusting food establishment I've ever entered. Absolutely disgusting. Oh and the employees were sitting in a booth playing a game when we arrived, so clearly they have time to clean up. So gross. Ordered the Pho and for whatever reason the broth was not doing it today. It had zero flavor and felt like it should have been simmering for another 24 hours before serving it. Tried the spicy chicken wings, not spicy, and they were hands down amazing. The reason for the 2 stars is because the pho was horrible everything was "meh, I've experienced better." I've actually experienced a lot better. There were 6 people in the restaurant with 3 people working and it STILL took them 15 minutes to a) bring our check and another 15 minutes to bring the check back. Wednesday afternoon, Feb 9th, I ordered and was served Vegetable Pho & Iced Tea. The environment was noble and clean; the staff professional; the tables were mostly full of happy chatty customers. The food arrived hot and promptly. How could I go wrong with vegetables & tofu? The bowl was hearty sized and there were more noodles than I expected. I consumed all veggies and the soup, leaving most of the noodles: I was a Happy Camper. As soon as I stepped outside, I had a SEVERE EMERGENCY potty need!!! Knowing that I'd had only my own home cooked meals for the last week, I was traumatized until I finished my shower at home. I will not return to this location ever again. Really disappointed. I ordered the Pad Thai, and it tasted charred and smelled cigarette like. I asked for chicken and they gave me beef, and it tasted not at all like peanut and didn't come with any peanut topping at all which is the best part. After eating a few bites trying to give it a chance I literally feel like my mouth tastes like charred food. Also the noodles used are different than all the pictures I see in the reviews (not the thick rice noodle as advertised). When in Kyle and hungry for some Pho, this is pretty much it. I've not had a problem with the service, but, find it amusing that everyone working here (that I have seen) are of the "round eye" type. Where are the Asians? This is a chain maybe that's the deal? Who knows. It's Kyle. I want Pho. Pho in Kyle. Pho King Kyle style. On my first visit I asked my very pleasant waiter if they made the broth fresh. He says yes. I then asked if it was made the traditional way. He said he didn't know but was sure it was. Well, it ain't. You'd be hard pressed to convince me that that broth comes from boiling bones. Nope. It is straight outta the box, can or bouillon cube. Nonetheless it is still a decent bowl of Pho and my meatball Pho was generously loaded with balls. That was impressive. I was still eating the balls after I had finished all my noodles and garnish! I was really disappointed with this place. First off it was somewhat crowded but there were only two servers, one which told us he was stressed out ( I felt sorta bad for him..) after taking over 25 minutes to get out our drinks. Although he was kind enough to give us water as well, which was nice... but I paid $3 dollars for this green tea with boba that didn't quite taste right AND had to wait over 25 minutes for it... I was so disappointed with that that I had to go to another boba place to get true boba and get that awful taste out of my mouth. All of us ordered Pho, I ordered the sea food pho, which I thought was alright although a little bland. However this was the first time I ever had pho, so I can't really compare it to anything else. My friend, who is an avid Pho fan, said, "[The Pho] was bland and the onions were gross. Not the consistency of what pho onions should taste like. I'd give this place a 2/10. The imitation crab even fell apart because it was so cheap. I'm very passionate about Pho." I need to also add that at one point she spat on us because, "something slimy [in the Pho] went down [her] throat". This, of course, topped off my experience. The only one that was somewhat satisfied was our other friend, who said, "I have nothing to complain. My water came on time and the Pho tasted good. The only thing I have to complain about is the onions and the girl who spat her food in my face. 8/10 would come again." However, this one hasn't ever had Pho so I don't know how authentic her review could be considered. Mark M. and I took my kiddos along for our second adventure to Pho Thaison and we were amazed at how fabulous the food was. We talked with the owner's son (who was our waiter) and he ws such a great waiter! Recommended food for the kids to try (total score with the chicken!), drinks for them to try (the lemonade was SUPER fresh and yummy) and chatted it up with us the entire time. It was great. We all swapped stories of family and food and culture... it felt like dinner at a friend's house. We re-sampled the sushi and it was fresh and yummy. I've been to Pho Thaison located in Austin many many times. Today was my first time visiting this specific location. I was extremely pleased with the amount of veggies and noodles they included in my pho. My tofu was a bit overcooked and cut way too thin, but that didn't keep me from eating it. My boyfriend ordered pad Thai. It was alright. I like my pad Thai noodles a little thinner. But that's my personal taste. I was pleased with the service. We knew to seat ourselves but I feel that someone who doesn't know their seating system might feel a bit lost if not immediately greeted. Our drinks were refilled promptly. I come here pretty often, at least once a month and every time i do I leave with a full stomach. I normally get the R1 chicken plate or just regular meatball pho and it seems like they do a little extra every time. For eight dollars you receive a heaping amount of chicken, rice, veggies, and an egg roll, you can't beat that. This 3 star reviewed place definitely does not do its justice. The workers are very polite and the food comes out acceptably fast. So come to Kyle and drop on in for some sushi, rice plates, or some delicious Pho. You won't be dissapointed. read more

I give them three stars for their food and one star for the service because they were busy and also understaffed. The spring rolls are a must have - a perennial favorite among my crew. The spicy shrimp appetizer (I forget what is called) gets kudos too because the sautéed onions and jalapeños that come with it are killer! Thai tea was way over sweet but I cut it with a little of my wife's unsweet tea and that made it perfect. Overall one of my top 3 places to eat! I am IN LOVE with their crab Rangoon's and spring rolls. The Rangoon's are fried to perfection, with such an amazing sauce to accompany it (a mixture with honey :D). The spring rolls are priced reasonably and are accompanied by a delicious peanut sauce :). All dishes that I have tried so far have been filling, scrumptious, and extremely well priced, including their starters. The standard of taste has been consistent and held at high quality in all visits here! They also work with you if there's something you can't or don't want to eat: don't like cucumbers, they'll leave them out. Not sure if you like fish oil, they'll put in on the side. Whenever I want some good sushi I come here. Been going here for like 6 years for a reason. I always stick to my usual because it's so good. 1 pork spring roll, 1 or 2 orders of sushi. (I forgot the name of the sushi it's like imitation crab, avocado, cucumber.) and a coconut smoothie thing.
