Very good food, good service, family friendly. Food comes out quickly. Our favorite is the Steak Pho #1. The teenagers like it with extra meat, I like it with extra steamed veggies. Shrimp summer rolls are good, pearl drinks are good, the non-pho dishes are good, too. They also have the best ice tea in a huge glass for $1. I never would have put pho and ice tea together, but really, their tea is good. We didn't like the bean pudding much. It might be our western tastes, but it wasn't something I would order again. Super surprised how good this was! Had the wide noodle pad thai w/ beef- it was excellent, not greasy and really flavorful. Also had the bao, pork belly wasn't as crunchy as I would have liked, but we had it delivered so that impacted it. Will absolutely order from here again. read more

The furthest thing from traditional phó I've ever had....in the worst way. I ordered grilled pork spring rolls to start and they bent over in half when I picked them up from how little ingredients were put inside the roll. They only had pork, noodles, and carrots. Worst spring rolls I've ever purchased. I ordered the eye of round Phó and received a half bowl of lukewarm noddle water and very thick cuts of beef that were already cooked (I guess due to the fact that the broth wouldn't have been hot enough to cook it.) I had to drown it in soy sauce and Siracha in order for the "phó" to taste like anything. Not to mention when you walk in it smells as if the place hasn't been cleaned in weeks and the tables+booths feel that way as well. If you think this place is yummy, please go elsewhere and you'll discover that this place has no idea what good Asian food is. Nothing is better then paying 10 bucks for 6 slices of sushi right? Have previously tried the soups and was disappointed with the lack of flavor and taste. Tried the sushi today and the 10$ sushi had shrimp that still had a shell on it and was expensive for such small proportions. Completely under staffed - they don't answer the phone for to go orders. I called at least 8 times before having to go in and place an order myself. As I sat waiting for my to go order I watched the two workers not even recognize the phone was ringing and it went to the answering machine at least ten times. I mean, wow. My family and I love a good local spot and because of the location in a busy area near HEB we had been avoiding this place like the plague. Purely based on the assumption that because it was a busy area people were eating out of convenience. I ended up there with my family (to include 2 kids) during a lunch rush hour and from beginning to end it was amazing. We were seated quickly, the waitress was on top of everything, the food was hands down some of the best I've had in years around the Austin area. Being an Austinite, that's hard to come by when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine. Bathrooms may not matter to some people but for me personally, I like a clean restroom in a place I'm eating at -- they were immaculate. I can't speak much on dinner time crowds and wait times, but I can only hope it's just as pleasant because this is my new local spot for sure. read more

My wife and I really liked the food and the setup of the restaurant. The decor is fresh and upbeat but the staff looked new and obviously lacked the experience to keep a restaurant sticky free. When I mentioned that the tables and chairs had a stickyness to them, the server replied that it was the cleaner they used. My husband and I walked in on a whim one day and it was very slow, which is kind of okay for us. We were greeted by a friendly face who was our server, I think her name was Mindy. Very personable! She suggested a delicious vegetarian dish for me, I think it was the tofu curry, but don't quote me on that. It was AMAZING!! My husband got a chicken and rice dish, which he really liked. I've been here several times and I have to say, while service is sometimes spotty, I've only ever had bad food once. Today was not that day. Service-wise, normally it does depend on how you go in and greet the employees. Go in with a smile, get service with a smile, though there are exceptions. It has always been clean when I went in though there were a couple times it seemed they'd just mopped with old water, but again it's always been clean. This place was not good! Ordered the seasoned chicken with stir fry veggies. The veggies were so soggy and too much onions. It was so spicy couldn't even enjoy it! My friend is a first responder and got paged out for a call as the food was served. She didnt even take one bite. The food was paid for and the restaurant closed before they finished their call. The next day when she returned they did not serve her what she paid for and basically said too bad because they had to throw the food away. Additionally: the soup was obviously simply warmed over and had been on a stove all day. I ordered the "Pho Ga" and the waiter asked me "which one is that" being 100% serious in his question. I have visited Pho Thaison a few times already and I got to say I'm a fan. Their menu has a lot of variety for everyone in the family. I like trying new things so I haven't been disappointed yet. They have a lot of sitting and the service is good. The one dish that caught my attention was the chicken curry with rice. The portion was good and the chicken curry was flavorful with a little kick. I wish it was a little bit spicier but I think it is just me because I like things on the hotter end. I think this will soon be my go to here after trying everything else on the menu. If you are new to the area and are interested in trying something new. Do not hesitate to give this place a shot. The quality of the food is inconsistent. Sometimes the pho is good and hefty. Most other times the pho broth is very diluted. They keep hiring and firing different staff. I can imagine they don't pay enough, but most of the wait staff is rude and probably hates their job. They have a sushi bar, the portions of the sushi have gotten smaller and smaller. Very friendly service! Buddha's delIght with vermicelli noodles was really nice on a cold day. Broth was steaming hot and vegetables were all cooked nicely. My husband got a beef pho with vermicelli noodles too and he as raving about how good the broth was in his too! I also had coconut bubble tea which was awesome; even offered the tapioca pearls as optional. My husband had Vietnamese coffee which looked delicious. Be sure to ask for a verbal kids menu because it's not printed - but it does exist! Our toddler enjoyed grilled chicken and vermicelli noodles. Tried the beef pho special which included all cuts of beef. Really flavorful and solid pho. The meat was excellent, very tender and tasty. Also had a fried egg roll. Taste was good but it wasn't very hot and the lettuce it was served with wasn't the best. That is why I didn't score them higher. Great service. We ordered to go. They left off one of our orders so when we got there we ended up ha big to wait an extra twenty minutes to get our food. The staff seemed put out that we wanted all our food. This place is great! The tables were clean, the silverware had no spots on it and the Coke tasted fresh like they clean their lines out in the machine regularly. The menu has a variety of things. We brought our youngest son Jaxon with us, and he's super picky when it comes to food. He loved the chicken in his teriyaki chicken, and ate mouths-full of steamed rice. The rice is moist and fluffy and the chicken is super flavorful. I ordered a spicy tuna roll as an appetizer to share with my wife, and asked them if they could do half tuna and half spicy salmon roll, and they said no problem. The sushi was fresh and tasted great. Just the right amount of spice. I checked in on Yelp and got one of our cokes for free! Our Pho soup was delicious. The broth did need a little sriracha in it for heat, but I'm nitpicking with that. I had the brisket Pho and my wife had the chicken. You get a huge selection of meats, and you even get to pick white or dark meat with your chicken. I will definitely go back here. read more

I really wanted to love this place, BUT I came in for a late lunch, was given a sushi menu only to be told they didn't have any sushi. Ordered Beef Pho and egg rolls that came out burnt with black all over them, really dry and unappetizing in the inside too. The beef pho wasn't bad, but it was $10 a bowl and much smaller than the ones I have gotten anywhere else. Also the bean sprouts looked a little old. The waitress wasn't too friendly and didn't come back after taking our order and bringing us our food, but she did take off the egg rolls right away when I mentioned how bad they were. For being the only pho place near me, definitely wasn't amazing, will probably make the little extra drive into South Austin instead. read more
