Literally the worst salmon I've ever had, worse than canned salmon. Overcooked to the point of chewy like jerky, terrible fishy smell, tastes like someone microwaved it on high for 5 min. Needed a knife to cut it, had to use effort to tear it open. Didn't taste any sort of glaze. It was inedible and I would have taken it back but I was already on the road. Smothered in dill yogurt sauce, which was tasty itself but way too much of it. Not much substance to the meal if you remove the salmon. The fast casual I was sleeping on! CAVA came to Kyle ages ago and I've never gone. Mediterranean isn't my go to, but I feel like I've been mistaken. I had the harissa chicken and avocado bowl with rice and greens. What a flavorful, spicy, delicious gathering of foods. I didn't particularly love the pita bread because in comparison to everything else, it was just bland. The pita crisps though, those are a must on a bowl. Their fresh strawberry drink was incredible, so refreshing. Service was also quick, serving sizes were good. The price point is a little high, compared to similar fast casual Chipotle. However, the ingredients seemed quality and it's not something to have everyday. For me, at least. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

The portions are amazing and a great bang for your buck. I've tried every Cava location in the Austin area and unfortunately the one I live closest to always disappoints. Up charge for protein and raised the prices on some items but don't give you a full serving, this has happened multiple times. But today was the tip of the iceberg. I received a notification my order was ready at 9:23 and waited till 9:50 in the digital pickup line. I was told to circle around so they could serve someone else behind me before me since their food would be ready "sooner" by the time the customers that were behind me got their food. Mine was sitting on the counter as soon as I pulled up like it had been there for a while. It had, my food was cold and it was disappointing. This was my wife's pick for her birthday dinner. Updating my review...This is the 3rd time dining here. I really love that we have healthy options such as Cava in Kyle, but my goodness there hasn't been any improvement these past few days. If ever I believe the staff have regressed. I think it's pretty negligent for this location to leave a new restaurant and new staff without a seasoned manager or supervisor. I am still rating it a 3 because the staff appear to be friendly and nice...just lack guidance and a structured assembly line process. I really hope it gets better because the food quality is there. I recommend the pita versus the salad option. It appears the salad option is not as plentiful or filling. The ambiance is new and the decor is modern. The night before they opened to the public, Cava had a free meal evening that my wife and I were lucky enough to get tickets to. To be ultra simplistic, Cava is a Mediterranean version of Chipotle or Mod Pizza. You choose a protein and a base and whether you want it in a pita or as a bowl. I chose the spicy lamb meatballs (one of the super helpful employees recommended) with the lentils as a base. I would normally order something pretty much how it came, but I decided to go all out (it was free) and add a bunch of extras... so on a normal day I would have never added the avocado (on account of the price), but it was delicious. The entire experience was wonderful and this is a welcome and fairly healthy option for a lunch or dinner where you can get out the door at under $15 per person. read more

Just yuck! I don't think the person putting our order together knew what she was doing. I'm watching her put my order together and she put hummus and then the wrong meat. I told her that was the wrong protein and she just threw the meat that was already touching the hummus back in the mix. Last night was my 1st time trying CAVA and I will not be back. I purposely ordered my salad through the app 45 minutes before I picked it up. I sat, waiting at the digital drive thru for at least 20 minutes for a steak salad. I could see workers piling on ingredients while I sat patiently. I finally got my salad, got home to what looked like the most miniscule amount of greens they could spare, and no steak. I also ordered pita bread, which was a no too. I added a side order of their eggplant dip for $3.50; it was one ounce of watery mush. I tried calling them 3x and of course, no one answered. I love that Kyle has a Cava! This place is great! I had never been to one before until the opening of this one. It is like a Mediterranean chipotle as far as the set up goes. They have preselected menu items to choose from or you can custom build your own bowl, wrap, or salad. The harissa avocado bowl is fantastic and I recommend that if you're not sure what to get! It is still a relatively new place so the staff are definitely still learning and are slower than they could be, but that's expected for the age of this establishment. The employees have always been extremely friendly and welcoming otherwise. Relatively quick, tasty food that's nearby is all I could ask for! Worst experience ever. Unprofessional and worst customer service experience from a manager. I was told the chicken was not done cooking so was asked to wait on the side. My bowl was not covered while I waited over 7 minutes for the food to be ready. Other customers who entered AFTER me were given the CHICKEN(that I was waiting for) before me. Despite the fact that I had been there before the other customers. Once I asked to speak to a manager, I spoke to an "Alex" who she not once apologized or took responsibility for her (or staffs) mistake. Continued to defend her stance and offered no way to diffuse the situation. I've never experienced a worst experience from a manager in my life. The customer service here is pretty abysmal, it seems like pickup orders are never ready when the app says they are & there's no real process for picking them up. I have always had to pull an employee and ask about my orders because they don't put them on any shelf or anything for easy access--kind of eliminates the "convenience" factor if you need to wait in line to pick up an order.
