The place has a "hole-in-the-wall" atmosphere. We were the only ones that were seated, but it seems like majority of their business comes via take out. The inside was clean enough, but it's not a place where you'd come and linger. The service was good. The food came out promptly. The waitress was friendly. She accommodated our party (see in the next paragraph). We ordered spring rolls, and they usually come in 2 an order but the waitress was nice to let us do a half order since we were a party of 3. We also ordered the a chicken pho and combo phos. The spring rolls and peanut sauce were ok. I like that it was grilled pork versus the cold one. The phos were not piping hot unfortunately and the beef broth was mild and not flavorful. The chicken pho was better, but the chicken was a little dry still. All in all, this may have been an off night for them?? We ordered from them once before, and we didn't recall the broth notably bland. I find this place really cozy and cute. After my long walk along Bolsa Chica beach, I craved for some pho. Pho Tastee was only a 10 minute drive from the beach and I didn't think twice to order some pho to go. I opted for for rare steak and brisket pho. When I got back to my room, I immediately had it for lunch. I must admit that this is among the best tasting pho I ever had. The rare steak slices blended well with the broth, brisket and veggies (including the mint leaves and bean sprouts). One thing stood out at this place: I'm truly fond of the option to substitute rice noodles with egg noodles. I was not expecting egg noodles to blend well with pho, and it worked! All I can say is WOW! Amazing pho just amazing comforting and generous portions for the price. We drive 30 minutes just to eat here because they're THAT AMAZING. Here's why: WHAT WE ORDERED Grilled Pork Pho: * Beautiful clean broth that's both comforting and somewhat gingery and bright. Brisket Pho: * Amazingly savory broth with both robust, rich, zesty flavors with a spicy kick to finish (my all time favorite). Thai Tea Boba: * I love this place, but dislike the boba. Try it though you might like it. Both broths were very flavorful and didn't taste like dishwater like some of the other pho places. Their pho actually had some really comforting flavors and were different from each other. For example, one broth tasted gingery if you will, more bright and light. The other broth tasted more savory, comforting, and was our overall favor of the two. It's too bad we don't know which broth was for which Pho so we could recommend that one. We also had their boba. Their tea is great but the boba balls themselves were a tad bit too chewy rather than the soft, melty, fresh boba we're used to at other places. Since the tea tastes good, however, we'd order it again! Overall, AMAZING phos, decent boba, and even better portions AND customer service. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend! I normally order via Doordash but today I called my order in and requested no white onions, extra cilantro and steamed veggies. Steamed veggies cost $2.50. I received no white onions as requested but extra jalapeño, no cilantro and no steamed veggies. Super disappointed that no one checks the order before bagging it and giving it to the customer. Tiny location in a dated shopping center close to where I get my car fixed. I had a bit to wait so I walked here for lunch in the meantime. Things were off to a rocky start when I received some kind of lemonade mix instead of lemon soda. When I pointed this out the lady had the audacity to try to lie about "mixing the lime in." I've eaten at dozens of Vietnamese restaurants and this was a first for the lemon soda. Keep in mind they're charging about $3 for this. I ended up switching to a Thai iced tea, which was average for about $4. The fried rice and vermicelli were ok. A couple of other people were in here getting the fried rice and pho. I stopped in today for the 2nd time to grab an iced coffee (I love Vietnamese iced coffee). My first experience wasn't great but it was the most convenient spot. Once again, I was left feeling disappointed and a little ripped off. First, it cost $6.50 and they charge an additional $1 for a credit/debit transaction. Next, the cup holds 24 oz but it's served over cubed ice, and I mean a TON of ice. Filled to the top. The drink was gone within 4-5 sips. I left the cup of ice on the counter as it melted and this is what it looked like after it melted- keep in mind that ice expands. At best, I would say I got 10 ounces of coffee for $7?? Nahh. The pho is decent in relationship to an area that doesn't necessarily cater to decent Vietnamese food. The service is okay. You need to get your own condiments and physically go up to pay and whatnot. Definitely not 5 star dining, but it essentially is fast food. I order the seafood/veggie pho which is loaded with an assortment of vegetables and shrimp, but the broth is on the bland side. The tofu is fried and pretty tasty and the shrimp is fresh. Another upside is they do have a very good chili paste. The banh mi sandwiches have decent flavor, but not enough meat inside. Downside is they're in a weird parking lot that I don't like to visit due to vagrants on the premises. It's fine when you're with some friends, but not a location to take a girlfriend because the atmosphere is a bit ghetto. read more

I really hate leaving bad reviews.. which is why I refuse unless the food or service is horrible. Wow. Where do I begin?! I have never had such awful tasting pho in my life. Granted, I ordered off of DoorDash so all I have to base my experience off of is solely the food, no other factors. But definitely worthy of this post! The noodles came cold, hard as a rock, almost frozen?? When I added the rare steak to the broth, mixed it up for several minutes, the steak was still red and the noodles hardly separated. The broth was also lacking major flavor! I added soy sauce, siracha, hoisin and lime (all from home, not the little amount given) and I even microwaved the noodles/meat for an additional 3 mins until the noodles and meat were cooked. The meat was chewy by that point, and surprisingly the noodle still hard! Absolutely disgusting! I ended up throwing it all away. Not even my kids liked it. read more

We absolutely LoVe this place! We've been coming here for about 10 years. The only pho my son likes. The owners know our orders by heart and the dishes are on the table nearly before we sit down. Mango boba drinks are delicious too. The banh mih is ridiculously good when they have it on special. My go to is the tofu pho with veg. Always packed full and hot with all the condiments. Our apps are fried tofu and pork spring rolls. Highly recommend those items and the chow mein and spicy fried rice are regular hits too. It's a small dining area so not great for more than 6 people but they do their best to accommodate all your needs. We are regular customers for life. read more

I ordered a pho with beef balls and a watermelon slushee and they were both disappointing. The pho broth was wayyyyyy too salty. It made the beef balls too salty to even eat. The noodles were fine, just your average pho. The watermelon slushee was absolutely terrible. If you're expecting a fresh watermelon blended slushee that is not what you're going to get. It was basically artificial watermelon syrup blended in ice. Way too sweet and artificial to drink. read more
