Absolutely FANTASTIC Pho. The broth is GREAT. Doesn't need anything added. I often find many Pho places disappointing because I feel the broth is mediocre but Pho Bulous broth is PHOBULOUS and full of flavor. I usually always feel a need to add Hoisin sauce etc but it's not necessary here. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and worth the add on purchase. The garlic noodles and rib eye were also very enjoyable, but the meat was the highlight of this dish. Full of flavor, moist, with a great texture. Everything was enjoyable, and a great experience. Pho Bulous really lived up to its name! Our old spot closed down to our dismay, so I checked the Yelp for a new spot near me. The owner was super nice and greeted us when we walked in. The location has quite a decent amount of space. Not too spacious but also not overly claustrophobic. Love the arrangements of chili sauce and Sriracha across the table. The take out boxes are secure and durable. The restaurant decorations are quite simple. Inside feels like a very asian restaurant vibe. Temperature is cool. My siblings had mixed reactions regarding the food. On one end, both my brother and mom loved the food and said it was a 10 out of 10. But me and my sister on the otherhand, say that the Banh Mi wasn't as enticing as we thought it was. However, the place is quite clean, so points for cleanliness. While the food didn't meet out expectations, I am willing to believe that there is more to the restaurant, and therefore, I will give it another chance. I think four is an appropriate rating because a majority of my reactions to the food depend mostly through personal ranking than objective, and the family loved it. I am not a fan of soft meat, which the banh mi had plenty of. The popcorn chicken we ordered was very crispy around the exterior, which is good--But the meat inside didn't taste striking. It was cold day and also my husband's stomach was upset. So I looked for something gentle for dinner. Here I found one of my favorite meal Pho! This place is face to Main St. and there are street parking and garage parking front and nearby. The restaurant is cozy (little tight between table and bench chair for my husband LOl!) but feels clean. Menu has not only Vietnamese but also Chinese dishes. The service is simple and nice. We ordered combination pho and came shortly. Soup is good flavor, we had to loosen the rice noodles bit but cooked ok. Only one thing, I'd like to say I needed to mini dish to mix up hot sauces inside. Dog friendly pho restaurant! 90 minute free parking in the structure. They have a tiny area outside to sit with your dog. Food taste a lot better than it looks. Pork vermicelli bowl: Pork is good, super tender and fragrant. I wish they gave more meat. The portion size is pretty good. Lomo saltado: The steak was a bit tough but the noodles were so good. Decided to go for Pho today in downtown Huntington Beach and this is a new restaurant in town that I thought I'd try. Got in there a little bit before six and it was pretty empty and I decided to go with the chicken pho based on the pictures I had seen for some of the steak ones which looks like I have a little too much fat. My order was taken promptly and served to me in about 10 min. Is there a small little restaurant but you can tell it's well decorated. Overall, I thought the pho was pretty good, I've eaten the same dish at many places, and I had no complaints, the chicken was shredded and good quality, the broth was good and there was ample amount of meat and noodles. If anything, I would hope that they would give you some more sides to put into the fall, but I'm sure that if I requested it they would've read more

My girlfriend, toddler and I stumbled upon this eatery after exploring Huntington Beach. We were quick to be greeted, and service was quick to take our orders. I ordered the Pho Combination and she ordered the Vermicelli with grilled beef, and we ordered one Thai tea to share. The gentleman who served us opted to not write anything down. By the time both our dishes came out, the Thai tea still was not at our table. I flagged down our server and he quickly brought it out. I don't imagine it should take longer to prepare than to cook two dishes, so I presume it was forgotten about until I gently reminded. That was the only con. Pho Bulous was ok, the broth to me lacked the authentic Pho smell and it was good but not great. They used the right Pho noodles which are the thin strands which I like. The meat was ok, portion size was descent. The accompaniments which were your typical bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime wedges, and jalapeño slices were fresh but for two people I would say it was on the frugal side. First time ever having Pho. So I have neither anything to compare to, not sure how it's supposed to taste, and as I understand it there are many additions one can add to the broth...so clueless. With that as a backdrop... We were the only ones in the restaurant, although a few walk ins and one additional party eventually came in. So not busy. Service started off nice...good personality, attentive (but then, we were the only table!)...dropped off after that when, ironically, it appeared an owner walked in that became the server's distraction. But that isn't the reason for the 3. Got the Combo and while the chicken was good, and the brisket okay...the meatballs were odd. I honestly couldn't even identify the meat. I took the (very ample portioned) leftovers home and strained the broth and noodles, and tossed the meat out, as those were good. My main recommendation is to give novices a tour on what to do to customize the bowl. That would not only enhance the flavors but the experience itself. read more

I went to this location a few weeks ago and loved the food that I tried. So much so that we went back today for a takeout order to grab the garlic fried rice (which was previously amazing and had a lot of flavor) and the vermicelli. After getting back home, we immediately noticed that the fried rice had no flavor at all. It tasted immensely different from the first time and the rice tasted old, so we couldn't eat that. Next we opened the vermicelli which comes with fish sauce. The sauce container was not even a quarter full (so either it had leaked before getting put in the box or they just don't fill the containers at all). Without the fish sauce, the vermicelli and tofu had no flavor as well. Again, not edible. This was frustrating because this dish was much more expensive. Remembering the first time that we came into the restaurant and how good the food was made me feel that this had to be a new chef and that it was a one-off mistake. I called the restaurant to explain the situation and ask for a partial refund for the vermicelli at least. The girl who answered explained that there hasn't been any change to the cooks who make it and (after calling the manager) that there was no refund they can give. At most, I could "go back and pick up more sauce" even though "they gave me the standard amount they usually give." No manager was on site for me to talk to, and I was too far away to drive back down there. As a customer who really enjoyed the food the first time and was willing to go back again in the future because I thought this was just a mistake, I thought they would be more accommodating. 1 star for the inconsistency in their dishes and the poor customer service. read more

I want to give this place 4 starts so bad.... I didnt based on inconsistentcy. I love pho. I like this place as the broth is very good. It's flavorful and had a lightness to it. . The problem is sometimes it's excellent and sometimes there's hardly any meat. My son's had the same feedback regarding the banh mi. It makes me wonder if different cooks are in the kitchen etc. But overall I like it and when I don't feel like driving to Westminster to my regular spot, I will come back here. Super happy that there's an authentic viet restaurant here on Main Street finally! I came in for dinner time and was very pleased with the attentive service and great quality of food. So many option to choose from but I settled on the Filet Mignon Shaken Beef and my boyfriend got the Pho combination. We shared some shrimp spring rolls and I really liked the dipping sauce! The filet mignon was well seasoned and extremely tender. I really enjoyed this dish and am salivating thinking about it now hahaha.
