Hello everyone! I don't usually the type of people who write bad reviews because I know it can effect the restaurant, but I am very MAD at the situation I had with the CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE FIRST AND ALSO THE LAST TIME I'LL COME HERE. I was craving some Vietnamese beef stew that's why I came here. I walked in waited for a bit then I was pointed to a table in the middle of the restaurant. I saw on the menu said the beef stew is served with bread, noodle or rice. So I spoke in Vietnamese I would like to have it with "mì" which is noodle. This was a misunderstanding so they brought the bread out, with in Vietnamese it is "bánh mi". Then I brought the bread back to the cashier table and politely asked one of the woman who works there if they have like egg noodles, she said no, then I asked can I change it to pho noodle (I haven't touched the bread) and ordered 1 order of extra tripe. I spoke the whole things in Vietnamese. The woman who took my order said "that's fine" but the girl with WHITE HAIR kept glancing at me in a very hateful way. I went back to my seat, then I heard the WHITE HAIR girl talking to the woman that took my order in Vietnamese something along the lines of " Is she CRAZY (khùng), we already brought it out, why doesn't she just eat it? She is definitely crazy..." I don't remember exactly what she said but I definitely sure she said that I'm crazy multiple times. I did turn around to look back at them, just for them know that I heard them. When I finished my food, I tried to organize the table as tidy as possible like I always do. Then I walked up to the cashier place to pay for my food. Then I confronted her, I ask "Hi, may I ask did you just call me crazy a couple minutes ago?", then she ignored me and doesn't even apologize. I still tips them because the woman that took my order was nice to me. I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THE WHITE GIRL HAIR! I know this restaurant is usually busy, but when I came there, there were still empty table. I really need an answer for this! I've been going to this place since 06 and always had fresh food. The previous owner cared. The new owners are doing the bare minimum. Second time we ordered pho with brisket, the meat was LITERALLY half FAT. Never had this issue before. I didn't eat at this particular restaurant but if it's like the other franchise pho restaurants then the pho is probably mediocre. However, I'm leaving a negative review due to the service I received. It was my first time at this establishment and as I walked in I was not greeted, which is typical for a Vietnamese restaurant. I wasn't upset by that fact but rather I stood near the register waiting to speak with the attendant after he was done cashing the customers out about whether I should seat myself or wait. While I was waiting two older ladies came in and sat down, I took the cue and sat myself. After the attendant was done at the register he grabbed the menus and gave the ladies the menus first, which I didn't mind because I already knew what I wanted. He came over to where I was seated to drop off a menu and I had planned on telling him what I wanted. Instead he walked by without making any eye contact or even speaking a single word. Which at this point I took that as a gesture that he did not want me there. I got up and left. The absence of a greeting was acceptable and in hindsight I should've just sat myself to begin with but to completely ignore a customer when they're speaking is absolutely the worse thing anyone in the food industry can do. I will not be returning to this establishment ever again and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Their are plenty of Pho restaurants in the area that provide much better service. read more

My go-to spot for pho in Burien. Service is generally fast, and they do takeout pretty well (if ordering pho). I also like their bun (noodle salad bowls). Other that, I don't usually order the teriyaki or bubble tea here. A friend did and while they weren't terrible, it wasn't great either... but that's OK. I had a very bad experience here with the customer service. The waitress was very rude and and seem not to care us (maybe because we are asian people). So we sat at a table and a minute later a waitress just gave us the menus without saying anything nor did she give us water. Then we waited for literally 5 minutes for someone to come take our order when there were workers just mingling with each other behind the cashier counter. And the lady who took our order was really moody towards us even though she was just joking around a second ago. At this point, still no water was given to us. I've been to their Bellevue location and the workers there were less lazy and more attentive towards the customers. This place had always been decent, their customer service isn't that great but since my family was craving some pho, I caved and went with them. I soon regret my decision, and here's the reason why. I ordered my pho and to my dismay, I found a disgusting bug attached to my bowl. I called the waitress to show her the bug, she looked at it and left. Without any action taken to correct the nasty bug infestation issue they have, the fact that they didn't even do anything to show they are apologetic that there was a bug attached to my bowl of pho. Way before the yelp check in craze began, this place has been the go to spot for my family and close church buddies. The food for the most part has always been consistent. The service is prompt especially if you order soup, that is usually the quickest to come out. Amongst my circle of friends this place is best known as "stinky pho". We came up with that name after countless number of visits we notice the aroma of the pho tends to stick to our clothes and follow us home. Haha, I kid you not! This time as I finished my pho and got up to pay I saw cockroaches on the floor and pointed them out to my friend, the cashier and server not knowing that I was Vietnamese "the fat girl saw the roaches what do I do?" I've eaten at this place many times (due to convenience - being in area and pho called my name) and I've never been remotely impressed by them. In fact, the last time I ate there I was really turned off. At my last try at Pho Tai in Burien, I ordered the pho tai (rare meat) and I was grossed out by the meat. It was super rare (I don't mind a little rare), was deep purple in color and it came out clumped together in one piece the size of a golf ball. I had to break the meat apart and soak it in the "not even that hot" broth in an attempt to cook it. I ended up not eating the meat because I didn't want to get sick. The bowl of pho looked like an unwanted step-child and a trip to Harborview Hospital waiting to happen. Talk about recycled meat. I was hungry and I managed to eat a very small amount of the pho noodles and broth and gulped down the Vietnamese ice coffee followed by some tea. I then paid the cashier and got the pho out of there. I don't mind franchise pho; pho is pho and if it's good I don't really care if it's corporate or moms and pops (although moms and pops places tend to be best), but this particular Pho Tai location was a disappointment that got progressively worse. Do not waste your money, there are way too many Pho restaurants around to spend your money here and this is why. This used to be our favorite Pho place that we started coming to almost 10 years ago. We would eat here at least once a month. For the last 3 years or so, the food has gotten progressively worse, the service continues to disappoint and the portions are much smaller than they used to be and smaller then other local competitors. What is a large bowl today was a small bowl last year and the small bowl now is what a kids meal used to be and the kids meal is now made for a new born versus a toddler or kid. I normally do not post negative reviews, but due to our history with this place and the fact that it continues to digress not progress I figured everyone should know not to waste their money. With no lunch, empty stomach and dinner planed at 4pm, we wanted to have a light meal and try other item menu instead of Pho which looks like a popular ordered item. The place is pretty packed, two servers working hard clearing tables and taking orders. We waited 10mins while several tables were left unclear. We were in a hurry so opted to sit next to the restroom, tracked down a waiter to place order. #22 $7.29 = Julienne Pork, Grilled Pork chop, Egg = Com Bi, Trung Suon Nuong = the pork was chewy and a bit more grilled/cooked - even the egg and the bi, and a surprise side of teriyaki salad with dressing, hm... not traditional but that's fine though a bit over dressing. #32 $6.99 = Salad, Grilled Pork & Fried Roll = Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio = my kid loved the Cha Gio, the bowl is pretty well seasoning and fresh. Not sure why the pork in #22 didn't. Other tables got water but not ours, had to track down the waiter again for water. The Men's restroom needs a fan or a stronger fan; didn't notice one. I stepped in after one guy and bounced right back out. whew, I can wait until our next destination. The order ticket was left on our table, we paid at the front. It's a mom/pop joint; the price is for food and not really for the service which we didn't mind, but for another dollar more, you'll get better service at another restaurant, perhaps they need competition in this area. 2.5 stars. Horrible food. Horrible experience. I'd like to note two things before I begin this review: 1) I understand this is a chain restaurant, and would highly recommend trying one of their other locations. This review pertains only to this particular location and its staff. 2) I LOVE pho. I am not new to the experience or the taste. So when I say the food is bad, it's not an opinion of personal taste, it simply is inedible. First - the customer service. I come in, the waitress asks me where I'd like to sit. I take a moment to decide, eventually she hands me the menu and says "serve yourself". Cute, but I'm not thrilled by their off-putting sense of humor. But it's whatever, I brush it off. I find a seat, order the #2 ( pho with steak and brisket ) ask for a fork and the waitress immediately rolls her eyes not saying a word to me. I'm a bit uncomfortable at this point. I decide to ignore the customer service and hope the food is good. Its not. The broth is thick with what appears to be meat juice. Not broth, dark-brown, unseasoned, chunky meat juice. Each sip induces a migraine, which surprises me because usually pho helps me with migraines. The steak and brisket.. Unpleasantly chewy. An expired taste, as if it's been frozen for a very long time. Needless to say, I couldn't finish this meal. Now here's the reason this gets a 1/5, out of kindness I paid for my meal and explained to them "something is wrong with your pho". I go on to explain their broth is sickening and causing headaches. Their response? "Well maybe you're not feeling well". They take my money. I leave, hungry and disappointed. My only hope is someone from this location sees my review and takes action, because they're on their way downhill if they keep treating other customers as they did me. Pho Tai may be hit and miss, but I'm not sure - every time I've gone there, it's been a miss. The pho was not horrible, but the quality of chicken has always been questionable at Pho Tai. Pieces of chicken have been fatty, grissle packed, and usually cut in an odd fashion (pieces still attached together by tendons). I've only had the Pho Ga (chicken pho), so I cannot speak for the other pho varities. I've also tried the spring rolls - like the chicken pho, these were not good. But whereas with the pho I could eat it, the veggie spring rolls were bad enough that I did not finish them. They tasted like they were deep fried in the same oil used for shrimp and seafood dishes; in addition, the oil tasted "old" - not sure how else to describe it. So, the veggie spring roll took on those flavors - old oil, with a strong seafood flavor. Not good. As an alternative, I would recommend Pho Vina, which is about a half-mile down the road. In particular, the chicken pho is great, portions are huge, and in particular I enjoy the salad wrap. read more

I will admit though that I've only ever ordered the pho, avocado bubble tea, and chicken teriyaki, which are the best items on the menu in my family's opinion, so I definitely recommend that if you come here that's what you should center your orders on. I walked in out of curiosity and a willingness to give a local shop a shot. I turned out to be a curiosity, apparently. I ordered a "regular" bowl of pho, a lemon drink, and two spring rolls with peanut sauce, and was NOT disappointed. Well... at least not in the food. The pho came in a bowl in which I could either bathe a kitten or house a betta for quite some time. The beef was tender, and the bean sprouts fresh. The broth was delicious, full of deep, rich flavor. The spring rolls were a perfect balance to the pho. crisp, crunchy, cool, tightly wrapped, with a deep, peanutty sauce that lovingly complimented the pho. As for the lemon drink, I couldn't know about that. It never came, nor was I ever charged for it. I'm somewhat disappointed with that, as I was looking forward to that freshmade flavor, but I made do with the water that was kept coming around. I've been going to Pho Thai now pretty consistently for over 3 years now. Once I learned that the Chicken Pho was also in Chicken Broth, I was very happy! In fact, I probably went about 2-3 times a WEEK! Their chicken pho is both dark and white meat, which I think makes it more flavorful. The food is probably a 4 out of 5, but where they lack is their overall customer service and their CLEANLINESS of utensils and serving dishes. The Pho soup spoons and chopsticks are already at the table in a community serving bin, and MANY times I have found them to be not clean, or even still have food remnants on them. I am pretty sure that the holder in which the spoons and chopsticks sit are not cleaned regularly, but I say see for yourself. I also don't like the idea of kids and other people being able to just pick up the utensils and putting them back .. I think that is a definite germ violation. The Customer service is not the best. It's rare that you'll get another round of waters or refill, and as many times as most of my friends of I have gone, they never really care to remember how I order (which is pretty consistent every time ... I like to eat Pho the same way all the time) .. I remember complaining once to them about a hair in my Pho and thought they wouldn't charge me for the 2nd bowl they brought out (mind you this is the 3rd time they had seen me that week, and it was the same server each time), but they charged me... ugh! And lastly, EVERY time you go in there, you end up smelling like fried Vietnamese food because the circulation is so bad and the kitchen door is always open. It is a very good deal and as I said, the food is good, however, there are many Pho places that do the same if not better. In fact, if you want the SAME Pho and BETTER service you should check out Pho Liu off of Ambaum and 153rd. They just opened and the service, cleanliness, and food is 5 out of 5 to me. read more

The food is decent for the price, and the menu is not too overwhelming so I can quickly decide what to eat. My favourites are the pork chop dish and Pho number 17 (combination, pretty much come with everything). I love how they are quite flexible with the order. I didn't want the salad and they offered me extra rice for that. I get why there were so many complains about the services. Some of the servers seem uninterested or unfriendly but after spending a good amount of times coming there I get why, I have witnesses a bunch of rude, filthy eaters.. Gosh these servers must have been the most patient people on Earth to work there. I have nothing to complain since I have spent enough time there to get to know them and occasionally talk to them, and most of them remember my usual order which is a plus. Minus one star because there is no music playing in the background like most restaurants, which make it kinda awkward when the place is empty but then when it's packed, it's super loud in the background with people talking, children crying, blender noises ...ugh. And here is my tip: They close at 11pm but they stop serving foods except for pho noodle soup so you might wanna call and place the order before 10:30pm (I did that when I was running late and it worked perfectly, everyone is happy). As someone who used to work in the industry, I can tell you that don't expect a lovely service and this and that when coming to a restaurant 30 minutes before closing. One star for quick to go orders, always ready when I get there. Otherwise, the PHO itself is standard. I only get the chicken pho (i've tried other stuff but this is my usual). Here, the chicken pho has gristle and too many chewy parts. I'm super sick right now so I buckled down, added some hot a lot of hot sauce and sipped the broth when I got it home. There were at least 7 tables of people in at 6p the other night. It's freezing balls outside though so who knows, maybe people are just desperate to feel warm on the inside. I was! Won't be coming here again. Broth is bland, a large is smaller then what I would expect a medium to be and our basil and cilantro were slimy/browning. That's nasty. read more

The customer service is HORRIBLE; everyone who works there looks like they hate their lives, they hate you, and they really want you to know it.
