The staff were welcoming and didn't rush us, and we left happy, full, and with to go bags at 9pm.

Located in downtown San Rafael, there is street parking and parking areas that are meter paid. We came in at 12 ish on a Monday and ordered right away. As for the lao sausage, this could be eaten with rice but pairing it with freshly steamed veggies is even better. Get your fiber in! The sauce paired with this appetizer is nice as well. I believe this was made fresh in house, and we should have asked for scissors because the pieces were so long. They remind me of the noodles that are used for banh canh. It comes with two pieces of bacon (decent) and a choice of pancakes, waffles, croffle (a waffle made with croissant batter) or French toast. I chose French toast, which I never do. It was really good though. I also got a side of fruit. The fruit was a small portion of berries and a couple grapes. Excellent customer service - we will definitely go back when in the area.

Keep in mind, we arrived an entire hour before the restaurant's advertised closing time. We couldn't order any appetizers, sodas, specialty drinks, or even several of the main dishes. I understand that restaurants need time to close, but why continue seating customers if you're already shutting down most of your kitchen? At the very least, we should have been informed of these restrictions before being seated and spending time choosing our meals. To make matters worse, when the waitress finally took our orders, she went around the table asking everyone what they wanted but completely skipped over me. She then told us our food would be out shortly and was about to leave before my family had to point out that she hadn't even taken my order. When our food eventually arrived, we had barely started eating before the waitress came back and rushed us to pay because they needed to close their system. At that point, it felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience rather than paying customers. What makes this experience especially frustrating is that we weren't asking for anything unreasonable. We simply wanted to enjoy a nice dinner together for my mom's birthday. I understand that employees want to go home at the end of their shifts, and I have no issue with that. If the kitchen closes earlier, that should be clearly communicated beforehand. Overall, what should have been a pleasant birthday dinner turned into an unnecessarily frustrating experience. It's incredibly disappointing that a restaurant could make guests feel so unwelcome simply for showing up during its advertised business hours. We left feeling like our presence was a burden, and that's not how anyone should feel when they're paying to celebrate a special occasion.
