Pho P16. Noodle Soup with Meatballs

Pho-tastic restaurant with flavorful dishes, warm and inviting service, and a nice dining room with large Vietnamese prints and paintings. I got the Pho meatballs, my wife got chicken curry, and we split Vietnamese egg rolls. Delicious!!

The service was a 10/10! The waiters were super kind and made you feel very welcomed! The food was made very fast as well. However, the pho was heavy on msg, and was relatively salty. The portions are a little smaller than most pho places. The restaurant was nice and neat on the inside. Overall though it was a good experience and I would recommend going if you like saltier food.

I'm a tourist here, and I ordered takeout: spring rolls and P-11. The meat in the spring rolls was very stale; it tasted a bit rancid. The meat in the P-11 was raw, so you could see the color; some parts had already turned black. Door dish delivery.

I'm here in Kentucky for bourbon trail and this place is perfect after tasting bourbon all day. The broth was tasty and hot. They're very generous with side vegetable. BBQ pork roll was nice and fresh. Service was GREAT! 5 stars

Fabulous authentic Vietnamese place in Lexington. You can smell the pho and food when you come in. As a native Californian, I wanted to take my godparents to have some Asian food before their doctor's appointments nearby. They were thrilled to be able to have some Vietnamese food here.

Just a quick update since my last review, we have continued to come here regularly. (Almost 3 years since our first visit) I've never had a poor experience. The food is always delicious and fresh and usually pretty quick. The service is always great. This is definitely our favorite spot in Lexington. No matter what the occasion is we're gonna head over to Pho Saigon. We like the vegetable pho, the round eye steak pho, the roasted pork pho. The vegetable spring rolls (both the hot and cold ones), the dumplings appetizer, the pad viet is phenomenal no matter which protein you get. Honestly, writing this review made me sad because I'm not there now.

Pho sure loved this place!! Super attentive staff, hot fresh and fast! I had the #10 which is the popular choice on the menu. It had soft tendon, which was a gelatinous type of matter that did not agree with my palette. The rest was delicious though! Thai tea made just right, just wish it came in a bigger glass, like gallon size. I couldn't always understand what the waiter was saying, but everything went well and it was a great experience!

I didn't eat there but I got takeout and this place is delicious. My daughter told me many people have recommended it and now I see why. Rice vermicelli noodles with pork and pickled cucumbers and spring rolls. Sprinkled peanuts all over it.

Saigon Tray
Fat Man Reviews K.

On the way to meet some friends, Fat Man Reviews stopped into Pho Saigon in Lexington, KY. Pho Saigon offers Vietnamese food, specifically Pho pronounced "Fu", a traditional beef broth served with sliced meats and/or vegetables. We started with the Saigon Tray, this came with (2) egg rolls, springs rolls, dumplings and Crab Rangoon. The egg rolls were fried well, the pork was tender and flavorful. The spring rolls are served cold, the pork, rice noodles and shrimp were cooked well, but lacked flavor. The peanut sauce was very thick and very sweet. The dumplings were cooked perfect to a golden brown. The pork filling was tender and flavorful, but a sauce would have elevated it. The Rangoon was a little overcooked with not much filling. The filling was creamy and not as sweet as Chinese. I ordered the Hot Pot Chicken. This came with carrots, onions, zucchini, broccoli and crispy rice. The veggies were all cooked really well, crunchy but tender. However, the dish was overwhelmed by the amount of broccoli. The chicken was overcooked, it was dry with no flavor. The rice underneath was normal rice consistency and not crispy at all. There was a sweet sauce mixed into the dish. This was basically the only flavor, it needed seasoning and heat to balance out the sweetness. My fiancé ordered Stir Fried Noodles with Chicken, the noodles were ordered soft. The veggies were cooked very well. The noodles were soft with a bit of texture. The chicken was cooked well but a little dry. Again there was a sweet sauce mixed into the dish. This dish lacked seasoning and could have used some heat in the sauce as well. There was a clear Broth served with the dish as well. It was served barely warm, it was sweet, but the ginger was very, very overpowering to the dish. Pho Saigon serves several other dishes including fried rice, curries, soups and sandwiches. The server was nice, but the appetizer and the meals all arrived at the same time, this does not allow for the enjoyment of each dish and takes away from the experience. The Fat Man says that Pho Saigon is not Fat Man Approved.

Food was so good! I got edamame, spring rolls, and beef pho (#17 i believe). It all tasted great! Place was pretty busy, and there aren't many staff working so you have to be patient. However, it's very worth it in my opinion!

One of the best local Vietnamese restaurants, if you choose a restaurant with good service and delicious food, this is not a bad idea.

It was busy at lunchtime on a Friday. The cafe is so cute! Charmingly decorated. We ordered at the counter, took a table number and found our seats. One note about that: being a large person, the seats made me a little nervous. Next time i would opt for booth seating which looked a bit more substantial. Our entrees were brought out before our appetizers, but they looked so good I didn't even care. Couldn't wait to dig in. I had Pho Ga chicken noodle soup. It was served nice and hot with a bowl of raw herbs and add ins. Sprouts, fresh jalapeño slices, a lemon wedge etc. it was so delicious with complex flavors. I finished every drop. Appetizer was pork on a stick. Tender inside, crisp and sweet outside. Two skewers was plenty for us. My daughter had the lemon grass chicken with a fried egg. It looked great, she said it was very good. Our food was appealingly presented, and service was good. We each drank water and our bill was over $36. Not cheap for lunch but not outrageous and quality and portion sizes justified the cost. We will definitely return to try more menu items.

We ordered a variety of entrees, but the highlight was definitely the pho. The broth tasted very close to what you'd find in California and even Vietnam, which was a pleasant surprise. Really rich, balanced, and comforting. The only downside was the lack of fresh herbs on the side. It only came with a dish of bean sprouts, so it felt like it was missing that extra freshness that usually completes a bowl of pho. Service was amazing, mostly students from UC. But everyone was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Parking was pretty easy, which made the whole experience even smoother. Overall, still a solid spot, especially if you're craving pho that tastes authentic.

The presentation was world class and the rolls were incredibly delicious. A spice tray can be requested and encouraged! Try the different jars and experience the heat your way. I ordered the crispy garlic chicken. A traditional Thai dish, except it's done with his own twists and it's delicious. The garlic and basil were present but not overpowering. Note new, smaller square plates rather than original (larger) round dishes (check the pictures). While mom used to spice the dishes in the back, now they avoid spice and let you mix in your own. A spice tray provides several options. The food, while prepared differently, still tastes fine. But what really stung was the missing home cooking atmosphere. The chef/owner was sitting by the exit and didn't offer so much as a smile or a thank you as we left. That would never happened with the previous owners.
