Dalat's Special Banh Mi & Iced Vietnamese Coffee
    Reghan G.

Dalat's is a charming cafe! There are lots of seating options and cozy touches around the cafe. The bread and coffee-shaped pillows were adorable. I visited around 10 AM on a Saturday morning and my food and coffee came out within a few minutes. I tried the Dalat's Duo with the Dalat's Special banh mi and the Vietnamese iced coffee. The banh mi was the perfect size and all ingredients tasted so fresh. The bread was the perfect amount of crunch on the outside but completely soft on the inside. The Vietnamese coffee was strong & sweet. They had many unique sweets from different tiramisus to sweet Nutella-filled breads to matcha-loaded croissants.

I got to try Dalat's as part of the Too Good to Go app. It's wonderful that they participate, and it gave me the opportunity to try a wide variety of items. Everything was delicious! I had an avocado smoothie, sesame balls, a spring roll, a couple of pastry items, and matcha tiramisu. The staff is very friendly and the place is absolutely adorable. Can't wait to return for bahn mi!

This place is behind the Firestone on Southside Dr. next to a bakery. The food was light and filling. The coffee was the star of the show! The spring rolls with the peanut sauce were delicious! The service was polite. The seating is cute and comfortable. I will return to try more.

    Weekend Bon Bo Hue

Love this place for having Bun Bo Hue every weekend! That's hard to find at Vietnamese places in Louisville, as BBH is more of a seasonal dish. Dalat's also has good egg rolls (for kids), Combo Banh Mi sandwiches (for everyone else LOL) and cozy Pho w/ a lovely aroma. Tip: Try a unique & tasty Taro Ube Cream Coffee for a creamy and sweet bold snack!

One of the best coffee shop. They really have grown the space in the last few years. It is such a cute vibe, great food and desserts too. Highly recommend their lunch special and weekend special for Bun Bo Hue. They have the sweetest staff as well.

Stopped by Dalats Viet Eatery & Cafe and tried the Taro Ube Cream Coffee. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's one of the smoothest, most delicious ube drinks I've ever had. Perfectly creamy, rich flavor, not overly sweet... just really well balanced. I didn't get food this time, but their menu looks insane and everything coming out of the kitchen smelled incredible. Already planning my return trip for pho because if the drinks are that good, I know the food is about to be next level.

Best Cafe in the Southend of Louisville! With the food selection to the drinks or just even the service, you can find anything you are looking for here. The best Vietnamese Cafe! You cannot go wrong here. It's very casual, you walk in and look over the menu and order right at the counter.

I have been to this place plenty of time since before they revamp. This was our go to for bahn mi sandwiches when during college days. This is the one of the Og places ar 3rd street for Vietnamese food and baked goodies. I highly recommend their bun bo hue which is only served on Sat and Sun. Their bun bot loc is good for to go but would recommend asking them to heat if it up first. This place is a hidden gem.

The self serve cabinets of goodies.

I have loved the many versions of DaLat over the years. The latest version is a cafe that serves boba, banh mi, street snacks, noodles, with some bakery goods remaining. I got a bowl of Bun Bo Hue this time. It is filled with a big pork hock slice w bone, meatball, beef slices, tendon and a blood cube. It has not been reduced or "normalized" in any way! It was spicy and delicious. All of that was only $14.50. It was definitely worth the drive to the Southside! They also have egg coffee on the regular menu. They still have onion buns and hotdogs buns. I will definitely be coming back for more!

My new favorite pho and matcha spot. The banana cream matcha was very yummy ( the foam was thick and fresh). Lost for words for the pho must try. Great space for working from home.

This place has the BEST banh mi! The cashier is really good at giving recommendations and is so nice. The place has an amazing coffee shop vibe, with cute decorations and lighting. The food is amazing and I have been itching to go back already!!

First time trying this coffee shop during their 4th year anniversary & Lunar new year celebration. They were very welcoming to all the different cultures wanting to immerse themselves in this celebration. The lion dance performance was super special for the children to see. The matcha I had was amazing and *not pictured was they're banh mi (sandwhich) which was very tasty ! Definitely recommend trying fairly new spot :)

We had the fried tofu appetizer. The fried tofu came with a sweet chili sauce and was so good. When you bite into it there's a nice little crunch which is immediately met by the creamy interior (be careful it's hot!) and the flavor is amazing. The pho...oh my, the pho! The broth was full of flavor. The short ribs were tender. It was amazing! So...what's with the one star? I debated with myself on this but I had to give one star for the service. It was horrendous. We walked in and stood by the entrance for a good 10 minutes before anyone who worked there acknowledged us. We were finally seated, and, no lie, it took another 35 minutes before we got water (more on that in a minute). After we were seated, we knew exactly what we wanted so we closed our menus and waited...and waited...and waited...and waited. Thirty minutes after we sat down he finally took our order along with two other tables of two, who were seated well after we were (make it make sense). The two tables who came after us but ordered at the same time as us received their food a good 10 minutes before we did. I was beginning to think he didn't like us for some reason. I had no interaction with him. Didn't know him. So I don't know why he wouldn't like us. There was another couple who he seemed to know. He sat them quickly, took their order, and gave them their food--all in the span of about 20 minutes. Why was our service so bad? Needless to say--one star. If you don't mind horrible service...oh yeah, about that water. My water glass had something stuck to it. It was nasty! Should never have been given to a customer. Since we were, for the most part, being ignored, I had to walk over to him and ask if I could have a new glass. He mumbled "oh yea" and brought me a new one with a "sorry bout that" while he was walking away. Horrible service. If you don't mind horrible service, the food is great. I won't be going back.

First impressions: very clean facility, very warm and welcoming owner (Trieck was his name) and his adorable daughter doing homework by the cash register. He very kindly explained how he understands that vegetarian pho does not have meat And that he has the Buddhist version of the pho that his mom eats. I ordered to go because I wanted to run next door to their grocery section. I love me a good Vietnamese grocery store and products from all over the world. Pho is typically eaten at the establishment to make sure that the fix-ins and the method of consumption is 10 on 10 aka it does not hold very well when transported. I was happy to find that they had done such a great job packaging all the fixings and the soup. Very generous portions. I proceeded with the taste test. I have learned from my Vietnamese friends that you never add condiments to your soup right off the bat. You must savor the soup the way it is the first couple times to truly get all the flavors in before you start adding stuff . This was excellently seasoned broth base. The base was just perfect to me. After creating the whole experience at home, I can say I truly did enjoy eating pho from here. Good vegetarian phos are hard to come by and I will definitely return to try their other delicacies. If I had a couple words of wisdom, I think the soup could use a few more pieces of vegetables and tofu. But overall, I throughly enjoyed my meal and will return.
