I can't believe we have never been here before, it's so close! I was feeling a bit under the weather and wanted some good hot soup. Took my daughter to lunch at Dalat's. It was busy at lunchtime on a Friday. The cafe is so cute! Charmingly decorated. We ordered at the counter, took a table number and found our seats. One note about that: being a large person, the seats made me a little nervous. Next time i would opt for booth seating which looked a bit more substantial. Our entrees were brought out before our appetizers, but they looked so good I didn't even care. Couldn't wait to dig in. I had Pho Ga chicken noodle soup. It was served nice and hot with a bowl of raw herbs and add ins. Sprouts, fresh jalapeño slices, a lemon wedge etc. it was so delicious with complex flavors. I finished every drop. Appetizer was pork on a stick. Tender inside, crisp and sweet outside. Two skewers was plenty for us. My daughter had the lemon grass chicken with a fried egg. It looked great, she said it was very good. Our food was appealingly presented, and service was good. We each drank water and our bill was over $36. Not cheap for lunch but not outrageous and quality and portion sizes justified the cost. We will definitely return to try more menu items. read more

Gosh, this is truly a hidden gem! A cozy, clean and inviting ambiance, paired with friendly staff, amazing selection of drinks and top notch quality and tasty food!! I am craving to go back to this place. I tried the Honoi style pork bowl which was super delicious, perfectly balanced and enjoyable textures. The sesame balls were the cherry on the top! After missing Four Sisters/Ngonappetit, it's nice to have another Vietnamese cafe in town. I've had a hard time finding a good banh mi. I've had their food catered before but had never stopped in. They close a bit early around 7, so my friend and I came here as soon as we could. Busy busy busy! Lots of people coming in and out! It's a popular place! My friend had ordered us each the traditional banh mi with avocado shakes and sesame balls to share. Yum! Best banh mi in town! And the avocado shake really hit the spot. The sesame balls were pretty big. Can really only eat one! I also ordered the lemongrass pork and the bunh for takeout to bring home. Delicious! Everything is well seasoned and prices are reasonable. The service was good too.The staff is really nice. They bring the food out to you and they also bring out your takeout order to you if you're not standing by the front. My friend and I also got coffee to go. It wasn't strong for me, but I had gotten the iced coffee with ube. Plenty of other things to come back and try. They have parking spots in front but it shares a parking lot with other businesses so there's plenty of spots. Overall, I'm really glad I stopped in. Probably one of my favorite places now! Dalat's is a charming cafe! There are lots of seating options and cozy touches around the cafe. The bread and coffee-shaped pillows were adorable. I visited around 10 AM on a Saturday morning and my food and coffee came out within a few minutes. I tried the Dalat's Duo with the Dalat's Special banh mi and the Vietnamese iced coffee. The banh mi was the perfect size and all ingredients tasted so fresh. The bread was the perfect amount of crunch on the outside but completely soft on the inside. The Vietnamese coffee was strong & sweet. They had many unique sweets from different tiramisus to sweet Nutella-filled breads to matcha-loaded croissants. read more

I got to try Dalat's as part of the Too Good to Go app. It's wonderful that they participate, and it gave me the opportunity to try a wide variety of items. Everything was delicious! When I first started going there it was great but over the last month or so every time I go the food that I want is not finished being cooked or they have none of it and the drink that I want never has boba ready. I don't want to wait an hour for boba in my drink . If you open at 8:30 things should be ready you should not have to wait an hour for it . And even during the day things should be ready . read more

Stopped by Dalats Viet Eatery & Cafe and tried the Taro Ube Cream Coffee. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's one of the smoothest, most delicious ube drinks I've ever had. Perfectly creamy, rich flavor, not overly sweet... just really well balanced. I didn't get food this time, but their menu looks insane and everything coming out of the kitchen smelled incredible. I have loved the many versions of DaLat over the years. The latest version is a cafe that serves boba, banh mi, street snacks, noodles, with some bakery goods remaining. I got a bowl of Bun Bo Hue this time. It is filled with a big pork hock slice w bone, meatball, beef slices, tendon and a blood cube. It has not been reduced or "normalized" in any way! It was spicy and delicious. All of that was only $14.50. It was definitely worth the drive to the Southside! They also have egg coffee on the regular menu. They were very welcoming to all the different cultures wanting to immerse themselves in this celebration. The lion dance performance was super special for the children to see. I will admit that, although I adore Vietnamese food (and Chinese, and Thai, and Korean, and Japanese and let's just go with that whole part of the world,) I am not super well versed in the banh mi. In fact, this was my first time trying one! Safe to say, I am a fan! The bread was nice and soft with a crunchy exterior, the veggies were fresh and the pork was super flavorful I also tried the egg rolls which were so good and didn't fall apart when dipped into the nuoc cham. The service was very friendly and helpful. She was happy to accomodate my request to leave the cucumber and cilantro off the sandwich. I chose to take out but you can eat inside as there are quite a few tables. I will 100% be back as I they have a pretty extensive menu and weekend specials. read more

The broth is deep, rich, and bursting with flavor, and the best part? A giant rib right in the bowl! The meat is fall-off-the-bone tender, soaking up all that broth, making every bite a perfect mix of savory goodness. And let's talk about their cakes--I ordered one recently, and it was next level. Beautifully decorated, intricate, and made with such attention to detail. But the taste? 10/10. Whether you go for the durian flavor (which was amazing) or the assorted fruit, you can't really go wrong. Their banh mi and Vietnamese coffee is easily the most delicious and authentic in the city. We tried this cafe for the first time based off social media posts about the boba and spring rolls. We ordered the spring rolls (delicious an by FAR the best thing we had!) the pork skewers (tasty but nothing too special) the sesame balls (unsure what was in them or quite what to make of the texture but they were fine) and the grilled pork bahn mi (good but a bit boring). I ordered the bahn mi with jalapeños and none came on it and there also was no mayo. I asked for a side of mayo because none came on the sandwich and the owner of the shop said she wouldn't give us any without us buying it separately despite the sandwich having none. That was frustrating. The service is decent but a little hostile at times. The menu also was not detailed at all and as someone new to the cuisine, I would have liked to know what I was eating. Overall we will be back to try more things because we really want to like this spot and haven't tried any drinks yet. The food was good truly, but the service knocked off a star. I will be dreaming of those shrimp spring rolls though. read more

This was my second time visiting this cafe and I love it! The strawberry cream matcha latte is my favorite of all the matcha lattes on the menu! I wanted the taro milk tea but my sneaky and evil fiancé ordered it before me, so I got the regular milk tea just to get something different.
