CASH OR CHECK ONLY!!! An hour of my life I'll never get back. Drove over 30 minutes to try some goodies. Nothing stuck out to me signage wise that they took cash or check only so I go up and order a box of goodies and a coffee and was told "we don't take plastic". Staff was very friendly and told me there was a bank down the street so I walked to the bank and up to the drive-through ATM at which time was not working. It is 2026 who carries cash and who writes checks anymore? Evidently the people in Taylorsville because the antique store I stopped at while walking to my car . A very nice lady when I walked in said "is this your first time in? Just so you know we only accept cash or check." My honest opinion is if you're gonna charge over $30 for baked goods you need to "take plastic". Charge a processing fee like everyone else or do Venmo or something. I wasn't even gonna give a review but, if it can give someone a heads up before wasting time & gas and being blindsided by CASH/CHECK only option then it'll be worth it to me. I'm giving it a 2 because the staff was nice, loved the atmosphere and everything looked delicious. However, can't rate the food if I don't get to try it. So what could improve??......take plastic. read more

Wonderful little shop on the main drag in Taylorsville. Friendly place with excellent baked goods, coffee, teas, and breakfast sandwiches. Their hours are great for early risers to get to work. I had the sausage egg and cheese sandwich. It was light, buttery, and perfect size. Staff is friendly and the baked goods are top notch. I'd visit again any time I'm in town. read more

Tea Cup - Sausage, egg, and cheese with coffee and a tasty bear claw. All baked and toasted to perfection. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Taylorsville, Kentucky

Really fun little stop off Main Street. There's so many baked goods and they have lots of breakfast and sandwich options too. Tried a lemon turnover and they were nice enough to heat it up for me - jammy and sweet! Also tried their snowflake latter (white chocolate, peppermint and whipped cream). Definitely need to be back for their cappuccino muffin! read more

It is always great. I really like lavender latte with oat milk and honey. So good on a cold day

Super cute and food / desserts look amazing. However I haven't actually eaten here yet for 2 reasons. 1) No one waited on us. We stood at the counter for 5 minutes. Waiter told us to wait at the counter and the 2 older people behind the counter never even acknowledged us or said hello. 2) At counter there is a sign at the register that they don't take credit/debit cards so we had to walk out (not that we had a chance to place an order) I'm curious so I will go back with cash and try then revise my review (if I'm able to place an order) read more

Seriously the best croissant breakfast sandwich. Hands down! My little one even got a mini tour on the history of the building. So cool!

Not that wildly impressed. They do not take credit or debit cards, if there was a sign I missed it, but luckily I had cash...it was my yard sale greens but it is what it is Tony had an eclair and a strawberry cream cheese danish with milk. I chose a lemon turnover and a pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese filling. Everything tasted fine, but I just didn't like the feel of the place. Maybe if the man behind the counter had been a tad bit friendlier, but he rubbed me the wrong way. I just wanted to leave. The turnover was very extremely dry and flaky like parchment paper The best thing was Tony's Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish. Might go back, might not read more

The Tea Cup is a quaint little eatery in Taylorsville, KY. We were in town for a music event and the Tea Cup was open for business. Excellent coffee and pastries. The soups are good too. The sandwiches are uninspired but decent, the loaded potatoes are quite good. A bit small, but the service is good. Dave is a good dude. read more

Excellent little café, especially for a tiny town like Taylorsville. The coffee is excellent and the muffins superb. I always get a chocolate muffin, because, well, I'm deeply committed to my unhealthy relationship with chocolate. The Tea Cup has perfected the chocolate muffin. It's melty chocolate goodness in every bite (but be sure to lick the chocolate off your teeth before smiling or talking). I usually get a second muffin, as well, and usually go with a seasonal pick. Right now, there's an orange pineapple muffin that tastes like Summer. And what goes better with Summer than chocolate? They only take cash or checks. I'm a regular but still forgot to bring cash on one occasion. The super-friendly staff opened a tab for me and told me I could pay for my coffee and muffins on my next visit. Service doesn't get any better than that. I also ordered a cake from them once. It was beautiful and tasted like an Orange Dreamsicle. And was comparable in price to a cake from Kroger. I really can't say enough nice things about this place. If you're in Louisville, come to Taylorsville on a Saturday morning, eat at the Tea Cup, and check out the antique shops along Main Street, as well as the Farmer's Market. Then visit Taylorsville Lake. read more

I am writing this review to also share my story, 'The Tea Cup' opened when I was 17 years old and it started my love of local business, real coffee and the type of environment that keeps me loyal. I no longer live in the area, but when I come to visit this is a must stop location. Not just for the amazing coffee and food, but for the warm and friendly customer oriented service that is second to none. Thank you for the years of enjoyment and memories. I will always come to where my appreciation/love of coffee began. read more

Great place to eat. Dave does an excellent job with his pastries and lunch menu. Highly recommend

Excellent chicken salad sandwiches & salads!! Excellent service, everyone is very friendly!!

Great local place! baked goods are to die for. Be sure to bring cash, they don't do cards.

I tried the hot turkey sandwich. It was not very good. The turkey was cheap deli turkey and the bowl of gumbo looked like it was from a can. The whole place smelled like bleach and it made the environment uncomfortable. It's obvious they are not sure what they are doing. read more

The Tea Cup is a small town gem! Not only do they make an excellent cappuccino, but they also make amazing food! Many people come in for an initial cup of coffee, only to discover the bakery goods. Then they learned that you can get an amazing sandwich as well. My children frequently go in for the muffins, where is I love the chocolate pastries. The Tea Cup is a staple in Taylorsville and Spencer county. They provide more than just delicious sweets and food as they also invest in the community. They are welcoming and hospitable to all who come in. David and Lori and their staff make your dining and drinking experience pleasant. They have lots of tasty treats and lunch favorites. Bring cash as they do not take credit cards and be sure to take something home to eat later. The pepper jack and beef on rye is a great sandwich. Their breads and salads are all made there. You must have the warm cinnamon roll with butter, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Muffins, cookies, pies... oh my! You'll be sure to come back again. read more

Food and coffee are fine. Service and no credit cards prevents any further business. Does anyone carry cash in 2021?? I felt they were kind of rude about the credit card thing. It needs to be posted conspicuously at the entrance. It will save trouble for all parties. read more
