Went for the first time this week and was not impressed. I should have known better than to go close to closing, but I wasn't in the area any earlier (I don't live in bardstown). Got there about 25 minutes before closing and ordered 1/2 dozen glazed. The glaze was already flaky so they were just okay. Pricing is too expensive in my opinion. Size is pretty small and at $1.30 each, not worth it. There's no discount for ordering a whole dozen either, just flat per donut cost. Thought it might even be a little cheaper at the end of the day but I was wrong. The 2 older ladies working there didn't even greet me walking in, just stared at me like I was taking up their time. I'll go to OMG in Etown next time. Much better donut overall there. read more

After a less than memorable lunch nearby we stopped at Hadorn's Bakery for a donut or sweet. Fortunately they still had a some left at 12:15 pm. They close at 1pm. The donuts were fresh, tasty and fairly priced. Service was pleasant and we ate outside on the bench on a nice day. read more

Some of the best donuts and pastries around! This place is located in a good little spot where you can pull off to the side of the road and park. They are quick but unlike other places you do not feel rushed. My favorite pastry is the one with pecans on top. Not sure the name but I'm sure of what it looks like....looks goooood! read more

Hadorn's bakery is a popular downtown bardstown Kentucky donut and bakery just of the historic main strip of the city. A few of my friends have been telling me a long time I have to make it to bardstown early one morning and try a famous "yum yum" donut from this place. So this past weekend me and the girls. Made the trip out here. It was a little later in the morning and closer to afternoon so they didn't have as many options left. I personally was able to grab a yum yum donut and so was my oldest daughter. My other daughters just went with some chocolate chip cookies. The yum yum which is a rather large donut that kinda gave me cinnamon roll vibes was very good. I can see why it is popular. My daughters said the cookies were tasty as well. Service here was solid. Not much to it. Carry out only so you go to the counter with the options sitting behind the glass and make your order. Pricing is pretty solid and probably on the lower end considering it is in a touristy part of town. Overall we had a good experience. I'm sure we will absolutely be back in the future to grab another yum yum and check out other options. read more

Beloved in Bardstown, and for good reason. It took us four attempts to secure the bag (granted the first two times we tried were holidays where they were closed, the other times we were too late and they had sold out). Make sure you get there early! There's always a line out the door, and when you're in line you're hoping that once it gets to be your turn they still have the goodies you're looking after. I'm a weirdo and I don't do chocolate, so I load up on pecan bars. These are delicious. Everyone else salivates over the chocolate yum yums (I think that's what they're called!). The prices are super reasonable too, so it's so easy to support! Overall, this is an absolute gem in Bardstown. Even just looking at it from the outside it calls to you, and you know it's going to be amazing. Would highly recommend! read more

Unfortunately, I got here a little too late in the day for variety. However, the cake donuts were amazing! My wife got a chocolate iced cinnamon roll and it wasn't her thing, but I took care of that for her. LOL If you're looking for a sit-down place, this is not it. They last the car ride home perfectly and my family loves them. The bakery is small and there isn't much parking. Once inside you stand at the counter and place your order. I think the most popular item is the YumYum. Today I got the Apple Jack (cinnamon apple filled) and the Blueberry Muchkin (blueberry filled). Both doughnuts were under $1 each. They were very tasty. Great texture of the doughnuts and just the right amount of filling. They will definitely be on my list to take home. Look ... too many skinny and healthy people have reviewed this doughnut shop to allow me to believe the praise. What this place needs are some fatties to do the proper job. After all, if I was reviewing a fitness center, it would be fair criticism to say I clearly lack the waistline to speak to keto diets and nautilus circuits. So, a bakery like Hadorn's deserves a man of my appetites and excess to speak to its superbity. So here goes... I have eaten only two items from Hadorn's and both were delicious. The glazed did what good raised should do; they glistened with sugar and smushed as I devoured them. The halflife of a good doughnut in my maw is shorter than a firecracker fuse. I ate mine so fast I did not get the usual gulp of hot coffee that I usually use to wash down the lesser fare I have consumed at Winchell's or Dunkins. And while I enjoy a Krispy Kreme glazed, the skinny size and lack of puff in those makes the Hadorn's variety superior. The only chain doughnut that I know to rival their glazed are served by Kansas City's own Lamar's - that is a glazed doughnut I would go to war for... Still, it is the Yum-Yum which takes the cake - so to speak - and when you see this streusel lined, twisty rope of a pancaked-beast-of-confection, you will pay the two-plus bucks each for the privilege of this dietary mistake. I did. And my insulin levels are still adjusting as I type - and it was three weeks since my last Yum-Yum. So go to Hadorn's. Buy things. Eat much. Regret it while smiling. Just be careful you don't end up a wider version of yourself for the choices, because this is not culinary wisdom - it is epicurean excess run amok. And I love it. read more

When we stopped by Hadorn's, they were only doing take out from their window due to COVID-19, but I was fortunate to enjoy one of their chocolate-frosted donuts, which was very magical and full of life, liberty, and the pursuit of foodiedom. Parking is easy to locate and plentiful, where you can skip and stroll to the Hadorn's storefront to give your order and await on the donut goodness for which you will receive. I was not aware that this spot had been around since the 1930s, but there quality approach to producing delicious donuts is a core reason why they have. I wish I had known about their chocolate shakes before I left, but there's always next time for sure. We didn't wait long to take our order. Everyone that was in front of us was social distancing before giving their orders. The prices are very fair per donut. I think I may have paid 80 cents, or 60 cents, for a donut -- can't remember. Very magical the price as well as the taste of the donuts. Come to Hadorn's if you're in town for their donuts. They will change your life in ways you can't imagine. These are the BEST cake style donuts I have ever had. They offer a very nice variety box for just under $20. The prices are way cheaper than I thought. I got about 18 items for under $30. The staff is amazing and very friendly. There is a line if you don't get there 15 minutes before they open. I cannot speak to how fast they sell out because I was first in line. They were filming for an online show that will air November 16, 2023. If o can remember the name of it I will edit my comment. There is not seating inside. This quaint bakery is located in the heart of downtown Bardstown. We arrived at about 10am on a Saturday and there was a good, yet manageable sized line and we waited about 10 minutes for the Yumyum, glazed and cinnamon twist donut. My husband considers himself a connoisseur of donuts and has to stop and sample them whenever we are out of town and he was impressed with these donuts. Light, airy and delicious. Best enjoyed with a good cup of coffee the donuts and treats at Hadorn's are worth the calories. read more
