The interior feels comfy and lived-in, with warm lighting and art that makes you want to sit and stay awhile. The ambiance was lovely overall, though it was a bit chilly near the door when it opened since it's a little drafty. I ordered an iced caramel latte, which was smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet, and paired it with a cinnamon roll (heated, of course). I have been to this Sunergos in the Iroquois area just a few times. I mostly go for Books and Brews other than that, not too often. They do have rear parking here and there's a painting on the side of the building that shows you. It's a unique place that has typical table seating and some older antique looking furniture. It's counter service here and coffee is made fresh. I usually get an iced mocha here and they always know the right amount of mocha syrup to put in. They also have at home coffee you can purchase and make at home, they do have other merch as well. This is definitely a coffee shop worth visiting rather you're remotely working, studying etc. I definitely like it here. read more

Due to the location, I've only been here 3 times, but it's probably the most spacious one in Lou. I ordered a skin cortado with cheddar & chives biscuit. I love that they heat it up for you. I love the mismatched interior that gives a homey vibe. I love this coffee shop! This is the third location I've been to in the city. We walked in close to 2 on a Friday and it was almost empty. There were two others on computers. A few people came in and sat while others grabbed coffees to-go. My friends and I sat by the plants near the front while we chatted and read children's books. I was impressed! They had a lot of cultural books that were geared towards the cultural diversity of the neighborhood. Very cool! The baristas were nice and pretty smiley! I'd return just for that and because they aren't as busy as the other locations in the city. Not sure if the parking our back is theirs, but I found parallel parking across the street. They had a seasonal menu, which had a lavender tonic that my sister ordered. I didn't want that but since they had the lavender, I ordered a lavender latte. Yum! Very delicious! The lavender tonic my sister got had tonic water, espresso, and lavender syrup. It was unique! I didn't try it but she enjoyed it! Other than that, I like the retro vibe of Sunergos Coffee shops. I go to sunergos during breakfast and lunch times. I usually go to the location that is downtown in walking distance from my office. It is a very small place, no place to sit. You just walk in, order, wait for a little and then leave. The employees will talk to you thought. They are so nice and down to earth. I love locally owned places and this is one of my favs. I can just stand and talk to them all day. They also have a special drink menus daily which is pretty cool. But to the drinks. I don't drink coffee so I always get tea or an iced chia tea latte. They make the drinks however you like it with no complaints and with a smile. They aim to please you. The chia tea latte has a lot more nutmeg than I like but it is still really good. They are very consistent with how they make their drinks. Every time I go there, the drink is exactly the same. A lot of places I have been too, depending on who is there, the drink is made differently. Not them, they are consistent which I appreciate. I popped in this Sunergos location for a quick meeting. Honestly, I didn't know there was even a location on Southern Parkway. The environment was welcoming and a barista quickly greeted me to take my order. Sunergos roasts some of my favorite coffee in town so I always enjoy my visit. I had a bit of a cold today, though. So I got a cup of earl grey loose leaf tea. My barista carefully prepared my tea and even brought it right to my table. It was a little bitter so I probably should have put some cream in it in hindsight. I didn't get to try any food this time but I've had a muffin on a previous visit at the Norris location and thought it was delicious. What cool place! Love the comfy chairs and cool environment. Reminds me of sitting in a grandmas basement somewhere. I visited in a Sunday morning. Not very busy at all. During my 45 minute visit I think only 4 Customers came in. This was my first time so I asked for a suggestion from the staff. I like sweet so they suggested the caramel latte. I also ordered a savory scone too! They have a roasting room in the back too, that is jut too cool! It's contained by glass, and you can peek in. My ham and cheese scone was good, wish I would have asked them to heat it up for me. They have baked goods from Please & Thank you! Yes they also have their chocolate chip cookies! The latte was delightful and scone was great. The environment is the best! It was very relaxing and the chair by the window is super comfy. I don't sit long so for me to sit for 45 minutes and just enjoy a Sunday morning with a latte and scone, priceless! This is a very cool locally owned coffee shop. You can also buy coffee by the bag, they also sell coffee mugs, thermos and shirts with their name on them. They also have coffee gift baskets prepared too, average price around $45. This location has the roaster in the back and serves all the Sunergos locations and many other coffee shops and stores. I enjoy a mocha shake or an Americano. The Sunergos on Woodlawn Avenue is perhaps the homiest of the Louisville coffee establishments I've been to. And I've been to many. Would you like a comfy chair to sink into? Or perhaps you're with a group of friends and you'd like to pull several chairs and tables together to make an area your own? You won't be offending any pre-planned furniture arrangement by doing so -- or not one that can't be easily put back anyway. Most of the furniture is mismatched. I love the array of mid-century-modern, formica tables. And this all works to create an atmosphere that is memorable and comfortable, one that doesn't take itself too seriously -- as some coffee shops are wont to do -- yet doesn't look like it was pulled together over a weekend. It's warm and relaxed. It works. But perhaps enough with the interior design. "What about the coffee?" you may ask. I have not had a bad brew at this establishment. The baristas have always been polite. Sometimes there's only one person both taking orders and filling them, which can lead to a wait, but you can tell they're working as fast as they can. If you want food, I noticed that this Sunergos carries baked goods from Please and Thank You -- can't go wrong there. And you can see them roasting beans through the window into the back of the shop. It's kind of gratifying to drink coffee that may have been roasted under the same roof. All in all, a great establishment. read more

Was here recently to meet a date and relax and visit before attending a concert. I like the high ceiling and the brown-stained concrete floors. The furniture is 1970s basement rec room stuff-pretty rough. Or 1970s vinyl office chairs with rips and tears. At any rate it IS a comfortable space. My date's coffee was a disappointment-simply didn't care for the flavor. Likewise I did not care for my iced coffee. The flavor and the price. All in all 4 stars. I plan to return. I've visited Sunergos on 3 different occasions and on each visit the service and quality gets better. My most recent trip on a Thursday morning I noticed a good traffic flow but seating was easily secured and my caramel latte was strong but yet flavorful. Like all Sunergos stores this place is awesome! This is where the magic happens for Sunergos. And by magic I mean roasting. They have giant windows from ceiling to floor that show the roastery which is super fun to watch while you sip on your drink. You can see them roast the coffee like you can watch doughnuts be made at Krispy Kreme! The baristas are all super knowledgable about coffee in general but especially Sunergos coffee and are great at making suggestions as far as what espresso roast to use or buy and even how to brew your coffee at home! Every barista I've met at Sunergos but especially this location is super sweet and wanting to help or customize your order so you are happy. The vibe of this Sunergos is much more chill than the Norris location which is nice if you just want to relax and read a book or hang with some friends. read more

I work at Starbucks but try my best to broaden my coffee horizons by visiting as many local coffee shops as I can. I have always wanted to try Sunergos, but all of their locations are simply too far from my house. Today, I happened to be in the vicinity of their West Woodlawn Avenue location and decided to pay a visit. This location looks small on the outside but upon entering you can see how spacious of a place it is. The ceiling is high and they even have a roasting room in the back that you can see into (it is separated from the rest of the shop by a glass wall). I can see how anyone could sit in one of their squishy armchairs and enjoy a chai or drip coffee. I could melt into one of those chairs and let my day slip away. There is definitely ample (and comfortable) seating at this establishment! The employees here are also extremely friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about Sunergos products. The girl at the counter greeted me immediately and asked if I had any questions. She described a few different drinks to me that I was curious about and recommended the smoked vanilla and cardamom latte. I got a 12 oz. and a toasted breakfast panini to accompany it. All I can say is WOW! My expectations were exceeded. The panini had egg, cheese, and pesto on it. It was toasted perfectly so that the focaccia bread was crunchy and the egg, cheese, and pesto were a melty, gooey mess. It was awesome. My latte was perfect. Just the right amount of sweetness. I would definitely visit this location again. I would probably even go out of my way to come here. It is a clean, comfortable, unique space. To start I actually worked for a high end wholesale coffee company that served Aspen in the late 90's - way before coffee became a thing in the USA... I quickly became a coffee aficionado and understood what coffee is, especially carefully curated coffee. I've had good coffee all over North & South America and Sunergos Coffee is with the best of the best. The aroma, cleanliness of the beans, the finish, the stimulation of the palette... I could go on but you get the idea. It's not cheap but for goodness sake put down the bag of Starbucks and go spend a little more for REAL. DELICIOUS. EXQUISITE. COFFEE! So that's a reviewing their Whole Bean bags of coffee. I also ordered an Americano with an extra shot - delicious, perfectly poured, strong flavor... the shop itself was very nice, clean, easy to find, roomy... two college aged girls working were super friendly and were quite knowledgeable about their products.
