    Shrimp and grits

We had been wanting to try this place for awhile and it was suggested for Mother's Day! Parking was definitely an issue but we caught someone pulling out. The line was out the door, so it took us about 30 minutes to be able to place an order. You're given a buzzer and you pick up your food. We weren't prepared for how huge the place was outside! Plenty of seating and they had at least three bars for you to de order drinks. We ordered the empanadas and shrimp and grits and both were absolutely divine! The empanadas had a chipotle aioli that was sooooo good! My husbands shrimp in his grits were cooked to perfection. Overall amazing experience. I take a star off for that line! Given the size of the place there should be at least two places to place an order, given that there's three bars!

My family and I visited on an early Sunday afternoon. It was moderately busy, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a playground for kids. For my drink, I ordered the Screwed AF and very much enjoyed it. For my late breakfast, I ordered a side of cheese grits. It was the perfect size and absolutely delicious. I also had a bite of my daughter's pancake and enjoyed that too. Between the playground, fountain, and TV playing sports, the patio was such a vibe. It was the perfect spot for our family get together.

Best chicken and waffles I've ever had! Flavor was on point chicken was super crispy and flavorful, it had this delicious hot sweet chili sauce on them which was phenomenally paired with the sweet waffle! You go up and order at the counter so you don't have a waiter but staff will still check on you and make sure everything's perfect

Look, if you're the type of person who wakes up hangry and wants your eggs yesterday, this might not be your place. But if you're down to sip some solid coffee, soak up some shade, and contemplate whether your grandkids are cuter than the other patio kids (they are), then welcome to Breakfast AF, aka the brunch spot your whole family didn't know they needed. We were expecting parking chaos, but the brunch gods smiled upon us and BAM--spot right up front. I assume this was a miracle, so don't count on it, but it can happen. Ordering was quick and easy--love that for us--but the food took a while to arrive. Not a dealbreaker though, because the patio is shaded and we were too caffeinated to care. Great place for kids to play if you bring them along. Speaking of food: we had the American breakfast with bacon, a croissant, and eggs over medium--and let me just say, they nailed those eggs. Rare is the restaurant that doesn't undercook them like it's a dare or overcook them into rubbery disappointment. But here? Perfection. Bacon crispy, croissant flaky, and I may or may not have considered licking the plate but remembered I'm a grandparent now and should set an example. The whole vibe is like a brunch commune surrounded by carbs: Pizza AF next door, ice cream a few steps away. I could very easily spend half a day here with my adult kids and grandkids. It's like a family-friendly hangout zone disguised as a breakfast spot. In short: Family-friendly Cute patio with shade Eggs over medium victory Name that makes your mom go "What does AF mean?" Will return. Might try the pizza. Might never leave.

Food was excellent and plentiful. Great service. Like their self service concept. Everything made to order. The coffee flavors was splendid. Live the multiple choices of delicious breakfast foods.

Not quite 4 stars. Maybe 3.75 stars. My friend and I came for breakfast on a Monday morning. You order at the counter, then they give you a buzzer. Coffee is self serve. They have half and half and alt milks which was impressive. Service was good. They asked if we had been in before and gave us the rundown. Even gave us their recs. I ordered black coffee and the chicken and waffles while my friend got oj with chicken and waffles as well. The coffee is just okay. Kinda watered down but did the job. The chicken and waffles were okay. The waffle is cooked pretty crispy...almost too crispy. And the chicken is just tenders with a light breading. It wasn't dry. The syrup on the side kinda soaks into the waffle to the point where you can't even tell it's there. Just not the most satisfying meal. Could be more flavorful for the price. No really memorable. They do have a ton of seating though. The front room is small. But the back area and patio area is large. It shares with Hauck's. Parking is parallel. Easy. I found parking across from it.

Went on a Saturday morning around 9am. Order at the counter. Plenty of seating inside. Went outside and a lot of tables were filled but still plenty of room. Waited about 15 minutes for our food to come. The smoky bacon croissant was amazing. Also really Enjoyed the French toast and hashbrown side. Highly recommend. Nice breakfast spot where kids can run around.

If you're trying to figure out where to go for breakfast, fear "knot". Go somewhere quality meets people and service still greets you on the way in the door. Sit down in a fresh, retro and clean establishment. I was hungry af don't judge me, yes I ate it all. Too good "knot" to...

We went a while ago and enjoyed it- now the portions have gone down, pricing up and there are so many other places to go.

Breakfast AF has one of the best patios in Louisville, it's huge, breezy, and allows for private conversations and child play without feeling crowded. Having been here before and being amazed I will say this second trip was less amazing than the first. The menu options are just as exciting as their affiliate restaurants Pizza AF and Baked AF. The kegs, potatoes, cinnamon sweets all make your mouth salivate. The pancake is great, it absorbs syrup so well and holds a sweet flavor. My favorite thing is the potatoes, literally any potato from this place tastes like well crafted and like they enjoyed doing it. The eggs today fell flat, I don't expect much. But when the eggs taste like the box a liquid they came out of its more difficult to respect a scrambled egg. The sausage was tough, I think a dog would have a hard time enjoying it. The potatoes and pancake really save the breakfast and their amazing drink cooler selection. I love an Energy V8 and this is one of the only place I know that has it as a drink cooler option. I think this was an off day experience, not disappointing enough to give up on. I would give it a 3 but I know they can do better.

I recently came here for the first time and oh my goodness so so good! I've been wanting to try it for a while but it seems like there's always a line when I try. But now I know why there's always a crowd The food was delicious! I had eggs, bacon, toast, and a few of their special hash browns (cheddar and bacon). I had a peach mimosa to go along with it and my friend had a fried chicken breakfast sandwich with a cranberry mimosa. Instead of being seated and having someone take your order, you just order at the front and receive a buzzer so you can pick up your food when it's ready. The outdoor seating is great, lots of seating inside and covered inside a patio. There's even a playground area for kids. The only downfall is some of outdoor area isn't covered so when you walk out with your food you do get a little wet. But I believe they're working on that so everything will be covered. Can't wait go back! Staff were all super friendly!

American breakfast with bacon and scrambled eggs

What a unique place! It's a small and cozy place in the heart of Germantown. Food was great too! We went on a Saturday morning and thankfully it was not terribly busy. You have to stand in line to place your order and then retrieve it when ready. I ordered a simple all American breakfast of eggs bacon potato kegs and a croissant. Tasty and hot the spot. I want to come back soon and try something more adventurous. My only comment is that they have good bread, and specifically croissants and brioche. They need to have some better jam choices. The only option was grape jelly in a squeeze packet. Potato keg is interesting. It's like a tater tot but filled with a cheesy oniony mashed potato type filling. My husband got the shrimp and grits and it might have been one of the best ones we've ever had. Just delicious. Salty with the seasoning and bacon, then finished with something sweet. I think maple syrup? Yall gotta try this place. Worth the drive!

The restaurant has a back parking lot and on street parking - the restaurant is quite large with two indoor seating areas and outdoor patio seating. The menu is large with a big brunch menu, lunch and entree options and kid's menu. We started with the s'mores hot chocolate and apple cider mimosas. The hot chocolate was pipping hot and delicious topped with toasted marshmallows. The apple cider mimosas had a weird flavor, I would recommend going with another fruit juice option. We ordered the kids buttered noodles with waffle on the side - big wide noodles that were swimming in butter. My son thought it was too much butter but loved the type of noodles. The waffle was good - not very sweet but he enjoyed it. My daughter loved the chicken and waffles entree, but I thought the portion was a bit small for an adult entree. The chicken was freshly breaded but the waffle was on the smaller side. The sandwiches and soups were delicious - we had the club which was filled with ham and turkey and the perfect amount of mayo. The tomato soup was creamy and so satisfying. The Ruben was a good size and stuffed with corned beef and melty cheese! Overall we had a great experience- a bit on the pricey side. The Hot Brown is an open-faced turkey sandwich. A thick slice of turkey is served over thick-sliced bread. The turkey is covered with mornay (béchamel with Gruyère cheese), topped with bacon, sprinkled with parmasean and broiled in a gratin-dish, served with a roasted tomato. It's gooey and cheesy, turkey moist and tender, bacon crisp. Very hearty, very filling. Unique, definitely worth trying. Not sure I'm having another one, but glad I experienced it.

The place is positioned as this incredible Mexican breakfast destination, so I figured it had to be something special. Turns out it's just standard Mexican food and drinks. Even if they were using using "the freshest most highest quality ingredients", it doesn't show in the final product at all. Heres what i got: The Espresso Martini ($14) was actually decent--nice and foamy with a solid chocolate note. The Carajillo ($8), on the other hand, was weak. It tasted like plain iced coffee with zero detectable alcohol. I wouldn't order it again. The Wake Up Burrito $14: their biggest hype item. I got it and added chorizo for $3.50, bringing the total to nearly $17.50. It's sausage, cheese, eggs, and beans wrapped up--pretty good, but nothing groundbreaking. Without their green sauce it's completely average, no different from any regular breakfast burrito at a diner. The green sauce itself is what really the only saving grace, but they serve it in tiny thimble-size portions like they're guarding some secret recipe. So for $18 you get a medium-size burrito plus a couple of fried tortillas with cheese on the side. Compare that to mexican spot like Bandito, where the burritos are twice the size and cost much less. This one is seriously overrated. The Chilaquiles - I got the side order of these with the burrito, and were average at best. Just fried tortillas with cheese and a little sauce that had a slightly sour edge. Not bad, but nothing I'd call amazing. I thought to myself, if these had egg and beans(what the main dish has) , would I have been glad to pay $17? The answer is no. Ive had better at the airport. Bottom line: Foko is incredibly overrated. It feels like a tourist trap built for people for those Luisville people who who don't eat much Mexican food and think this is the pinnacle. I get it, the decor is nice and gives that "premium" feel but the prices are way too high for what you actually get. I won't be back.
