We stopped here for breakfast around 9:30 Sunday morning and easily found seating for our party of 5 at one of the rectangular dining tables. Seating is plentiful with options for regular table and chairs as well as counter/pub height stools and tables. Restaurant space is bright and cheery with large windows, geometric mobiles hanging from the ceiling, and an eclectic mix of artwork, wall tiles, and furnishings throughout the space. Food orders are placed at the counter and we each received a buzzer to notify us when orders were ready for pickup. Service was fast and easy process in less than 15 minutes. Display case at counter held an alluring array of pastries, including cinnamon rolls, muffins, donut holes, etc. Since this was my first visit, I opted to try the buckwheat pancakes, as this was a nostalgic foodstuff from childhood. These were fluffy as well as a very slight crisp to the exterior, which was sublime. A fruit medley of strawberry, blackberry, and blueberry adorned the pancakes, and I was also thrilled with the butter and syrup mini-pitcher. I also had a jasmine ginger tea that was light and refreshing. Highly recommended for quality and quantity of menu items and value. I had the breakfast burrito when I came! The burrito was great, but heads up there are French fries in it! It wasn't bad but I was expecting something more like breakfast potato's or hash browns over fries. Overall the serving size was large and with the potatoes and beans it was extremely filling! The decor is very fun and funky, cute chandeliers, paintings, and furniture. I loved their banana bread absolutely delicious! I will say it took a while for them to bring it to me from the case without heating it even the tea with just a teabag. The front clerk even made a comment, "Here's your bread 5 mins later," sarcastically because she told me a while ago that it'll be right out. I ordered the fish plate that's the smoked salmon. Not a big fan, there was no base balance, I expected a spread kind of like lox or at least something that could hold down the ingredients because you have to make your own bite. I didn't enjoy constantly having to rebuild my sandwich because everything would fall out after every bite and the fish was a bit rubbery and hard to bite through, suspected a bit old. My partner ordered homemade granola yogurt bowl with fruit & it was okay. Nothing really special. Was pleasantly surprised by Gralehaus. The branding suggests not serious and maybe not enjoyable - maybe like a playhouse or kiddy vibe. It's not like that at all. It's spacious and quiet. Good for family or friends looking for a chill environment and quality bite. The baked goods are delicious. Sampled the cinnamon roll and cardamom roll. Both were fantastic. I went for a breakfast burrito which was also a hefty serving and definitely a good call. It'll stick to your ribs - it's not spicy or very seasoned, but the salsa side gives it a little pep. So much on the menu sounds yummy and encourage you to try it out. It's order at front and they'll bring to your table, which is self-seating. Came a few months ago when it had just opened. It was a Sunday and pretty busy. People were coming in and out, trying not to stay too long at a table. You order at the counter and then they give you a buzzer. You can sit anywhere. It's basically self service. My sister and I tried the egg soufflé sandwich while our friend got the soft scrambled eggs which came with toast. The soufflé egg sandwich has been pretty trendy for a while. We don't have other spots in Louisville that serve it so it's unique. I've had it in other cities though. Fox in the Snow in Columbus, Ohio has an excellent one. More sauce on it and the bread isn't so crispy that crumbs go everywhere. I wanted Grale Goods to add more sauce to theirs. Otherwise, not a bad sandwich. We got coffee as well. You can go back up to get a refill for $1. Seemed inefficient to wait back in line for a refill though. Not sure if they've changed this since I've last been. The lunch sandwiches looked interesting to try. Overall, I hope they stick around for a while. We need more restaurants/cafes like this in town. read more

Some friends, my husband, and I went here today for a quick breakfast before leaving town. We had been to Holy Grail and Grale Haus our last trip to Louisville, and it looks like this is new. My husband got the cinnamon roll and I got the donut with honey and sea salt, both were very good. We also got a brownie and a corn cake slice for the road, I haven't tried them yet but they look delicious. It's a little pricey here but on par with other places in the area. My husband also got an apple cider and it's from Huber's Orchard, which we went to yesterday, so that was fun. They also have breakfast sandwiches and lunch options. We had a nice little breakfast at Grale last weekend! My husband and I both ordered the breakfast burrito. It was so good! I only ate half of mine and took the rest home. My 6-year old son ate the other half for lunch and said it was the best burrito he has ever had! lol We also shared a cinnamon roll, and it was excellent. Very fluffy, gooey, and delicious. My only complaint is that the only cold brew they have comes in a very small can, is pre-flavored, and it's $7! I opted for the regular black coffee with a cup of ice for about $4, if I recall correctly. I also tried a taste of my friend's cardamom roll, and it was really delicious as well. Overall a great place with an awesome atmosphere for friends and very kid-friendly. They had a nice couch and a small kids table which was very cute. read more

When you get to the counter to place your order, you'll be greeted by gray people waiting to take your order. We had a little breakfast which included pancakes and a breakfast burrito. We went on a Saturday and were worried that it would be packed. We were pleasantly surprised to see that it's counter service so the line moved and tables cleared quickly. The drip coffee was pretty small and refills were a $1 each. We were a little disappointed in the value there. This place is good, I think in some ways they are still finding their footing, but I had no complaints here! We tried the tuna sandwich and the Caesar wrap. The Caesar wrap was $17 which is a lot for a wrap. However, to my pleasant surprise, it was HUGE and genuinely heavy. It was definitely big enough for two people to share, especially for lunch. We also got the blue velvet and strawberry sunrise smoothies. They were some of the best smoothies we had! We came at a busy time and the wait was decent but it's such a gorgeous place to just look at that we really didn't mind. They also stop serving pancakes at 11 but that wasn't on the website so we did come hoping to order pancakes and felt slightly disappointed we couldn't. The Grales seem to now own the parking lot (between Holy Grale and Grale Goods) so parking is much easier than it used to be.
