Been to Fante's a few times over the years but, never left a review (Until Now). My friend and I have come here mostly for the Annual Books and Brews for the Louisville Free Public Library. This is not a place we regularly visit, although maybe we should. Our experiences have always been great and have no complaints during all of our visits. It is a nice quaint little place just off Grinstead Drive. The space here is decent and seating can be limited depending how busy they are. It's like being in someone else's home while feeling at home at the same time. They have seasonal menus like most local coffee shops do. I love their winter drinks where you get a small butter cookie and you can dunk it in the drink. Staff is always wonderful here and welcoming. We do love Fante's and plan to come back again, maybe not wait a year at a time. read more

I have passed by Fante's Coffee so many times and had a coffee date to finally make me go. I could kick myself now because it is amazing!!!! Seriously why do I do that? SMH.... This coffee shop is so stinking cute. They have coffees, smoothies, scrumptious looking baked goods and so much more. The baristas were so friendly and the vibe was just spot on for me. They had the best decor. You could tell they take pride in their coffee roasting. The place smelled amazing before you even walked in the door. I did purchase some Mexican coffee beans and the barista was so sweet asking me if I needed any information about the different kinds of bean. If it hadn't been closing time, I probably would've. I hated to keep them any longer than we already had. I got a vanilla latte and my friend got a smoothie with whipped cream. My vanilla latte was amazing. And I will admit I did have to open up my bag of coffee beans and grind a cup up and it was so so delicious. So the moral of the story is people don't pass by this place stop walk and get a phenomenal coffee and whatever you want and I promise you, you will not be disappointed. I just moved out of Louisville, and I'm SO BUMMED I didn't find this place sooner. It's pretty much a perfect coffee shop. Super cozy, quaint yet classy, clean, insane amount of adorable seating, excellent strong bold coffee and gluten-free pastries. I got my typical Cortado, and it was perfect: creamy, strong rich flavor and very a generous portion, almost more like a flat white but I'm not complaining. While I ordered the Coffee to stay, I got the gluten-free peanut butter chocolate scone to go. BUT it was so warm and delicious that one little "taste" turned into me scarfing the entire thing before I left. The barista was super nice and apologized that she couldn't give me the little cookie that they typically serve with the coffee since it was glutenous. They also have a case of fresh sandwiches and other food if you're needing something a little heartier. Dang, I would've been here all the time if I'd discovered it while I was still a full-time resident. But I will absolutely return any time I'm visiting. read more

Fante's is great for both coffee traditionalists and adventurers. Their seasonal drinks and fun and creative and I'm still upset I missed out on their fall sweet potato flavor. If flavored lattes aren't your thing, I think they also have one of the best espressos in the city, and you can't go wrong with a plain cappuccino, latte etc. Lots of indoor seating, a great place to sit and study or chat with friends. Also a beautiful back patio in the warmer months. Lots of parking available. read more

Went on a weekday around 830am and the place was packed. Lots of friend meet ups and business meetings. It was loud at times so if you are wanting a quiet spot, I would attempt another time. It thinned out some around 930/10am. Friendly barista. My drink was a little too sweet but would definitely go back to try others. Had a really good cheese danish. Nice little coffee shop. read more

This might be the cutest coffee shop in Louisville! The seating is comfortable and spacious. Almost feels more like a ski resort somewhere far away than a coffee shop in Louisville it's so cozy! I had the Leo, seasonal; which was beyond amazing! Their coffee, their BEANS, are fantastic! This was a lovely coffee shop, but it was a lot. I came to meet with a coworker to get some work done and it was quite distracting. The baristas were yelling and rushing you through the line and it was so crowded. At one point I was stuck in a corner with about a foot around myself blocked entirely in. Talk about claustrophobic. I ended up getting out of there and finding a better table but it was still crowded. And loud as can be. I ordered a latte at first and it was good. A little while later I ordered a bagel sandwich and woof. It showed up to my table completely cold. As in, cheese wasn't melted, eggs cold as can be. My friend took hers back and said it was better. Instead, I waited until we left to get more food elsewhere. Overall it was an okay experience. I'd give them an extra half of a star if I could. Hopefully it was just an off day. Fante's coffee is a local Lousiville coffee and brunch spot located off grinstead drive. I have an older daughter who loves to meet up with friends and do coffee, pastries and brunch with family friends a whole lot so we've visited Fantes a few times as it is one of our favorite spots. The location features a private parking lot which isn't always the case for Grinsted ave business's and the interior is deceptively large. The decor and setup here is very homey feeling and gives off comfort vibes. When you walk in you go a counter and place your order. If strictly coffee they will Male on the spot, if food they will give you a receipt and take your name and have a waitress come bring our to you. I'm not a huge pure coffee guy so I'll usually get the hot chocolate or seasonal chocolate specials. I love a good bagel breakfast sandwich and this business does offer breakfast bagel sandwich's which is my main reason to visit besides being the city tour guide for my daughter and her friends. Overall This a great local coffee shop with nice drink options, tasty pastries and good actual food options with the breakfast bagel sandwiches. read more

This cute quaint coffee shop is nestled on a corner and can be easily missed. The barista took to curate my custom order and it tasted amazing. The decor is hipster meets antique dealer. Such a cute place! While this is a smaller coffee shop, there are quite a few tables! Perfect for a coffee date, meeting a friend, or working/studying for a few hours. It's the perfect nlice volume too, not too loud but not library quite. While I'm not a coffee drinker, my friend enjoyed her beverage. I had some tea which was good too. Wow! I've been here a handful of times but this time made me feel the need to leave them a review. We came in and ordered the brewed coffee special very close to closing time and because they were out of the brew, they made us a cup using pour over method. Firstly, the service was amazing. Not only did they take the time to make us a cup, the gentleman then came over and talked to us about the coffee, waited to make sure we liked it and offered us a "regular cup" if we didn't. Needless to say, the coffee was wonderful. It was Kana Hawa - limited edition African blend. I think it was the coffee of the month. It was light and floral with hints of lavender and jasmine. I normally add a bit of cream to my coffee, but this was so tasty it stood well on its own. We will definitely be returning for the service first but also for the delicious coffee! Since my last review I've visited Fante's a handful of times. Yesterday was my most recent visit after having enjoyed a day at the Cherokee Triangle art festival. We had decided to visit another local shop and I suggested Fante's instead. We ordered a large iced coffee and a large smoothie. My husband got his order and enjoyed it. I received a medium (rather than a large) iced coffee. When I pointed out that I'd wanted a large I wasn't offered much more than telling me I'd paid for a medium. We sat down for a few minutes inside before heading out. I noticed the spot was fairly full of couples and studying students. A few patio tables in front and behind the coffee shop also held groups of friends. I appreciate Fante's, if for nothing else the owners and their support of the community. Sadly yesterday was a reminder that what's lacking during each of my visits is the customer service aspect from the team behind the counter. It's lacking the upbeat energy and fix to wrong orders that are more typical of other spots in the area. Private parking lot with ample spaces. No drive thru. I don't know where to start.. Warm however modern interior, coffee music, a good selection of house roasted beans and incredible staff. Jason behind the coffee bar is chipper, fun, knowledgeable and will explain everything to you. He offered to even make everything we want (coffee wise) even if it is not on the menu. It's very rare you find that kind of knowledge, dedication and drive, energy even these days. Fun baristas who are willing to experiment on coffee! I wanted to try a strange flavor combo and the baristas were super helpful and talked with me about it and what notes each of their syrups have! There is a lack of outlets in certain areas though and the pastries were a little dry. But overall this is a great spot to stop by and chat with a friend! read more

A cool little spot with emphasis on little. I went during lunch time, the man at the register was very nice but made me wait while he finished doing something on the computer. Not sure what and I wasn't in a hurry so I didn't mind this time. There are a couple tables and a couch with some chairs near a fire place. It's fairly tight in there but overall the atmosphere was nice, service was good and coffee was... coffee. I didn't get anything fancy, just a black medium roast. I have been places that I have literally poured the coffee out it was that bad but this place is solid. No "food porn" on this review. I should have taken pictures of the inside now that I think about it. Oh well! I'll be back. Medium Roast 8/10 If you're close and need a coffee, I recommend. I used to frequent Fante's prior to the pandemic and I couldn't wait to get back. They had the absolute best tuna salad sandwich in Louisville, and they still do! I hope they never change the way they make it. There's just enough pickle and the texture is great for a soft crunch mixed in with the tuna. The ambiance is back to pre-Covid and the quiet startup conversations and job interviews are going strong! Before the pandemic the chai could have used some help, and it's now an excellent addition to the drink menu in frozen form. It took everything in my power not to suck it down in 30 seconds! Anytime I'm on this side of town, I find a reason to stop in here and at least grab a coffee if not hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. Summary: whether you love single origin, ethically sourced coffee for home or to go, creative lattes or a lovely space to gather with friends over tea/coffee/beer/wine, you won't be disappointed. MENU: typically three brewed coffees, cold brew ready, loose leaf teas, wine and beer! Love their beans, single-origin, ethically sourced and roasted locally here for Fante's. They also have some small pastries and sandwich selections. THE SPACE: just lovely - small lounge areas with couches, tables abutting large windows that overlook Grinstead Dr. a coveted table in the roasting room, and a side room with bar space and more tables. The music selection on this rainy afternoon was a blend of old school crooners which was perfect! SAFETY: Masks enforced, great stickered spots to wait for coffee, distance between tables and demarcations at the bar. True no touch payment with plexiglass between you and the register - the barista asked for your selections and pushed them. The sugar/creams are behind the counter for extra safety. SERVICE: pleasant and accommodating. Today, I wasn't sure about a particular drip coffee and I was offered a taste! ABOUT: this relatively young (3 years) coffeehouse is built on the owner's long-standing presence in the coffee business and he has really infused both celebrating coffee across the globe and the idea of coming together as a community through shared spaces. This is also a company that gives back and supports local orgs such as The Family Scholar House. read more

Fante's continues to do things right! It was one of the first places I ate or drank in during this pandemic. (And the list of places I've done that continues to be very short.) I met a business acquaintance for a meeting at Fante's and saw customers wearing masks when not eating or drinking. The staff wore masks too. The delicious coffee and baked goods haven't changed, thankfully. These provide a comfort during these crazy times. Most recently I took advantage of the outdoor seating. I needed to have a place for people to pick up some gift bags from me. In the pre-COVID days I would sit inside, but this time around, I wanted an outdoor spot that was easy to get to with parking nearby. The tables outside of Fante's were perfect. And while I was waiting on folks, I was able to sit outside on the mild January day and sip on my Fante's chai latte. Fante's nails it every time. I'm so thankful to have them in Louisville. read more

I have two things I mainly look for at a coffee shop: cozy vibes and incredible espresso. I am a definite a coffee snob. I love a good espresso in my latte with a nice, complimenting syrup. I even have an espresso machine in my home. I just moved to Louisville, and was incredibly excited about how close this coffee shop is to my house. My husband and I went there, and I was excited about the vibes. The place looks cozy and has a couch, something else I like to see at a place I may become a regular at. They also make their drinks with a traditional espresso machine and do latte art, another requirement I have for a go-to coffee shop. I then tried my drink. I ordered a hot salted caramel latte. The salted caramel was one of the worst I have had. It almost tasted sour. The espresso did not seem to be great quality either. I was unable to finish my drink. I do not want to go back for fear of getting something like that again. read more

IlO have always liked Fante's coffee, but I never ordered food. This cookie was 6$. It was stale. I sincerely hope that 5 of it was to relief efforts in Ukraine. Otherwise, why??? Update: So, here is the deal y'all. Hanging out in coffee shops, working, used to be one of my favorite things. Particularly LOCAL businesses. Now, it's a rare treat because I have no time. After dropping my son off at camp, I decided to enjoy that treat. Why Fante's? Well, one, so much space and parking. Though "small on the outside," the light-filled space has plenty of seating. I love the back because, on a weekday, it is absolutely silent. I usually get a cappuccino or brewed coffee. The beans are custom-roasted for Fante's (I don't think on-site, but I could be wrong, and even if wrong, it doesn't matter), and the roasts are always very flavorful. For whatever reason, I wanted an iced tea, and I was very pleased and surprised at how much I liked it. Nice black tea, not too strong or weak. So now, we come to the Great Cookie Scandal of 2022. Look, I had forgotten to pack my lunch, and at that point I was not into rational decision-making. So I got a big sugar cookie because I love sugar cookies. It was 6$ and stale, I could not trust myself not to be snarky with the baristas who were super friendly and fast with drinks, so I made a snarky review. I have to point out that I did reach out over the "gram." Well, a salty review deserves a salty reply; however, so do want to point out that I did indicate that I hoped the money went towards Ukraine and that it wasn't just a stale Ukraine cookie. I would encourage you to proudly advertise what you are doing, Leo, because it's awesome. Put it on a chalk board! I probably would have bought several. I don't need another cookie, but I will gladly come back Friday and review a different food, as well as take more photos. As long as we can all put our saltiness behind us. I myself will remember to actually eat lunch so that my sanity does not depend on one cookie. Maybe you can have a cookie before you reply to a snarky review (haha). read more
