Patio view from the inside tables
    Amanda B.

Ahh-dorbs. Gorgeous outdoor patio, which unfortunately couldn't be fully enjoyed due to the insane heat; but, it sure was lovely to look at it from the inside tables. It's very chill inside, a good amount of seating, and interesting coffee drinks like, The Gladiator, which is a brown sugar oat milk cinnamon bourbon-barrel syrup cold brew latte (say that 3 times fast). I got a standard cortado this time since I typically order that the first time I visit a place to determine their coffee-worthiness, and Hinterhof did not disappoint. It will be fun to come back and try one of the fancier concoctions. The barista was friendly & cranked out the drink quickly. They do have some food on the menu, but I didn't get an opportunity to experience any of that this time, though I'm a sucker for quiche so I'll be dreaming of that in the meantime. My only complaint is that the prices on the wall menu are outdated -- it lists the cortado as $3.50 but the price was rung up as $4.

This is quite possibly the best backyard of all time when it comes to a coffee shop. I've been coming here to do yoga upstairs and I've been so impressed with the coffee shop itself. They're always busy. They have very interesting drinks and it's a great spot to meet up with friends or just relax and take in a weekend. Their seasonal drinks are my favorites, but you won't be steered wrong. There may be a wait since the drink is made fresh by hand. But it's definitely worth it. Enjoy a cozy morning here.

    Definitely try the scone!

I love this neighborhood coffee shop. The owners and employees are very friendly and personable. The coffee is always great and the scones are a must-try!

A cozy cafe with great lighting and nice spacing between the tables. The perfect place to meet your friends and have a chat or to work solo. Great coffee as well, and friendly staff/regulars. Bonus: there's a neighborhood cat who appears outside on the patio and chases her tail.

View of the beautiful patio area.

This was actually one of the best cups of coffee I have had recently. It was a fresh pot and piping hot. They have a beautiful outdoor patio that is brimming with fresh flowers. I actually decided to sit inside and enjoy the view due to the heat. The patio should be ideal in the cooler fall weather. It's sort of a hidden gem on the edge of Germantown. Service was excellent today.

Love love LOVE this little hidden gem!! They have good coffee with fun specials and an absolutely beautiful backyard area. The outdoor space feels so serene and peaceful. The perfect spot for catching up with friends or getting some work done. This spot is a little hidden, but stick to the left side of the building and you'll find the entrance! Baristas are nice and helpful, always a friendly face.

One of my favorite cafe's! It's peaceful and welcoming, to both me and my dogs. Everything is quality, the breakfast biscuits are excellent. Great coffee and they don't rush the process, wonderful foam, and some fun seasonals. But what I love is the conversation. Every single time I go there I'm engaged in conversation, which never happens for me. They are all so caring and sweet. Nice outdoor patio, and a resident cat who is smart enough to disappear when I bring my dogs. 5. For sure.

This place has been on my list for a long time. I was looking forward to trying it. The hours posted online are not the same hours posted on the door. I pulled up at 7:15am (sign said they opened at 7am) on Monday. They were not open at all. I'm really disappointed. I did not even know the hours posted online said they aren't open Mon-Tues but the sign out front says they are open.

You order at the window, take a buzzer, get your drinks and find somewhere to sit. We (a party of 4) showed up around 11 on a Sunday morning and the line was already out the door. We had a hard time deciding what to order because everything we saw coming out before us looked just as delicious as the last. After the owner greeted us and gave a run down while in line, we settled on the shrimp and grits, steak and eggs, bread pudding french toast with a side of bacon, and a chicken and bacon croissant sandwich. (I wanted to order the biscuits and gravy weekend feature but they were already sold out.) The girl at the register was polite but very soft spoken so we had trouble hearing what she said. The coffee was the perfect temperature for drinking immediately without scalding yourself, and the different flavorings and types of milk/cream to choose from was a major plus! There were no complaints about any of our food except the steak was a bit under seasoned. I had the french toast, and, in my opinion, is enough for 2 people. There was a bit too much whipped buttercream for me but I was able to rake off majority, and the fruit that came on top was so fresh! The bacon was thick sliced and 3 of my 4 pieces were cooked perfectly to my liking - not too crispy, not too soft! We all were part of the clean plate club after eating because the food was that good! I wished now we would have taken pics of our food before eating! It's a shame it came up as #16 on my Yelp search because it wasn't even the least bit on my radar for our breakfast spot. But luckily, the tag line, "The second best thing you can do in the morning", caught the attention of one our male guests Definitely will be back when the chance arises!

The bacon was thick and a great portion. The fries are thin and super salty. I'd recommend a different side to go with your sandwich. I noticed a pick two for a salad, soup, or sandwich. It included a drink, which made it a good deal. The menu offers several breakfast and sandwich items, plus bakery, salads, and sides. I ordered off the breakfast menu and got the huevos rancheros and a blueberry muffin. The eggs were cooked to order and the potatoes were delicious! The muffin was okay. It was a bit on the dry side and would be skipped next time. My friend got a BLT and wasn't impressed. One piece of bread was soft while the other was hard, almost stale. Foko was hopping during a recent weekend brunch, but despite this the staff made time to answer questions, provide recommendations, and ensure we had everything we needed for a truly excellent experience. Although it was busy we only had to wait a few minutes for an open table, so it's clear they've curated the inside space (both practical aspects like seating, and aesthetic aspects like decor and art) intentionally. Dishes we tried included: -Avocado toast: a generous pile of gently seasoned avocado spread on thick sourdough. -Enmoladas: GAH THE BEST. Thick corn tortillas wrapped around perfectly cooked and seasoned vegetables, rice, and beans. This dish is entirely vegan as is, and includes both vegan feta and vegan crema. -Mango bowl: a big old (not actually old) mango served with tajin and a lime wedge to squeeze on top. If you haven't tried tajin on mango this is the place to do it. -Cubano coffee: just get this. It's perfect. Brunch here is not cheap. But brunch here is worth it. And you are worth it. So go.

I went to Foko after hearing nonstop hype about it being one of the absolute best breakfast spots…read morein Louisville. The place is positioned as this incredible Mexican breakfast destination, so I figured it had to be something special. Turns out it's just standard Mexican food and drinks. Even if they were using using "the freshest most highest quality ingredients", it doesn't show in the final product at all. Heres what i got: The Espresso Martini ($14) was actually decent--nice and foamy with a solid chocolate note. The Carajillo ($8), on the other hand, was weak. It tasted like plain iced coffee with zero detectable alcohol. I wouldn't order it again. The Wake Up Burrito $14: their biggest hype item. I got it and added chorizo for $3.50, bringing the total to nearly $17.50. It's sausage, cheese, eggs, and beans wrapped up--pretty good, but nothing groundbreaking. Without their green sauce it's completely average, no different from any regular breakfast burrito at a diner. The green sauce itself is what really the only saving grace, but they serve it in tiny thimble-size portions like they're guarding some secret recipe. So for $18 you get a medium-size burrito plus a couple of fried tortillas with cheese on the side. Compare that to mexican spot like Bandito, where the burritos are twice the size and cost much less. This one is seriously overrated. The Chilaquiles - I got the side order of these with the burrito, and were average at best. Just fried tortillas with cheese and a little sauce that had a slightly sour edge. Not bad, but nothing I'd call amazing. I thought to myself, if these had egg and beans(what the main dish has) , would I have been glad to pay $17? The answer is no. Ive had better at the airport. Bottom line: Foko is incredibly overrated. It feels like a tourist trap built for people for those Luisville people who who don't eat much Mexican food and think this is the pinnacle. I get it, the decor is nice and gives that "premium" feel but the prices are way too high for what you actually get. I won't be back.

We were given champagne at the entrance by the hostess for a toast, nice touch. We were escorted through the resturant and showed the restrooms as well as the display of steak choices. Another nice touch. We were seated and served water and asked about drink orders. We all stuck with water. The server, Amber was very helpful with explanations of the specials as well as individual steak options. We opted for the Tenderloin flight, a 4oz filet, a 4 oz prime and 5 oz wagya. Most of us enjoyed the filet best, then the prime and the wagya the least. Keep in mind the wagya was excellent but the other two cuts were enjoyed more. With the exception of my son in law, wagya was his favorite. All were tender and juicy and cooked to perfection, medium rare. We ordered a large wedge salad to share, romaine lettce, blue cheese, pecans, bacon, served with a hot bacon dressing. Not sure why it's called a wedge salad but it was very tasty, dressing made the salad. We ordered mashed potato pattis, that were good, suburb grit cakes that were like nothing I've ever had and everyones favorite side, the limas, in a cream sauce with country ham crisp, again not like anything I've ever had and again excellent and lastly the green that were seasoned to perfection and very tender. We were given a complimentary anniversary dessert, a crisp pecan shell with a white chocolate mousse, and a a berry compote. It was my husbands favorite. We ordered two additional desserts. The chocolate bread pudding with ice cream. My daughters favorite. And lastly the Rumchatta butter cake, a rich butter cake that was so moist but also crunchy on the edges. Mine and my son in law's favorite. Service was exceptional, never an empty water glass, plates cleared as soon as we finished a dish and all servers were super sweet, polite and accomodating. Large parking lot, so no problem parking. I would suggest walking around to see if there is one area more than another where you would prefer to sit.
