    Café Leche y Leche

Sweet Haven is a fantastic new Cuban Bakery & Cafe in Middletown. Exactly what the area needed! They offer delicious coffee, including Spanish & Biscoff Lattes as well as hot Spanish Leche y Leche coffee. Every kind of coffee we've had has been absolutely delicious! Their baked goods are wonderful as well, from sweet croissants to amazing empanadas. They also offer sandwiches and fresh baked bread. The service is fantastic and the owners + staff always make sure you're enjoying your food or drinks. They are happy to kindly explain anything on the menu and share recommendations as well. The space is very nice as well, which is great for hanging out and enjoying a coffee, or choosing fantastic food and drinks to go!

Empanadas are amazing, the people are so sweet and down to earth, and they have the cutest area to dine or sip your coffee! I'm a black coffee drinker, and if I go to Starbucks all I want is a nitro with a TEENY bit of a flavored cold foam. Craft coffee has never been my thing but this is the first place ever that I have said "this might be the best coffee I've ever ordered". I get the dulce de leche iced coffee and add extra Esspresso shots depending on what kind of day I'm having

Sweet Haven is a beautiful Cuban cafe that is very clean and has very friendly staff. The espresso quality is great. The leche y leche was perfectly smooth with a nice, rich sweetness. The guava tart was fantastic and the strawberry pastry was also pretty good. This place cements itself in Louisville's lineup of the better and unique coffee shops.

It's really easy to shrug off a deli/sandwich shop by saying, "It's just sandwiches, nothing special about that" like some reviews I've seen. I think those reviews miss the entire point of the neighborhood deli. I've been two days in a row this week. Once for myself, then again for my family after they heard me rave about the sandwiches and people here. Farrah (sp?) greeted me both days with a, "Hi honey! Be right with you!". You don't get a greeting like that very much anymore, and that same care and effort she put into greeting her customers is evident in the construction of the sandwiches too! I mean when was the last time a business - even local - asked your name before you left, unless it was to put on your coffee cup? We've had the club, the Brooklyn, and the veggie caprese and all of them are phenomenal. I don't think you could make a bad choice at The Block - you're gonna be happy and satisfied. Maybe it is "just a sandwich", and maybe I'm overhyping it because of the way the love they have for the customers and product comes through the entire experience....but even if I am, isn't that the entire point of your neighborhood deli?

The Block serves fresh salads, sandwiches, pasta salads, and soups from 11: 00 AM - 3: 00 PM. We were greeted immediately upon entering by a lady (I'm sorry, I have forgotten her name). She shared with us that they have been catering and operating the deli for 8 years and that everything is made after ordering, nothing is pre-made or packaged. She was very patient with us as we decided which of the tantalizing offerings we were going to choose. The inside was pretty small with a couple of 2-seater tables. Bagged chips and a cooler with variety of canned and bottled beverages are available in the space for purchase. We ordered our food to go. I chose the Chopped Chef Salad. Readers, this salad was HUGE (the take-out container could barely close). It was loaded with greens, turkey, ham, red onions, cucumber, boiled eggs, tomato, and both Swiss and cheddar cheeses. I was thrilled to discover that they use only Boar Head cheeses, my favorite brand). Everything in the salad was fresh and delicious and the homemade ranch dressing was heavenly. How did it take so long for us to find them? I am so glad that have found them and that they are located close to our home, because I can foresee this being a frequent lunch spot!

The food - A lot of variety of sandwiches to choose from. My Turkey sandwich was packed with meat that overwhelmed the regular slices of bread. I had to add to it to bring flavor to it and would recommend adding thicker slices of bread to it. The baked were good. Loved the variety of fruit options, frozen items, fresh meat, and other things to try out. Garden section - Didn't know this existed in here. A variety of plants and flowers to choose from. Customer service- It was top notch from the counter and front store cashiers. Everyone was nice and on point. They kept lines moving which I appreciated too. So this is on my store rotation to try new things here!

We arrived at the front of the line, and the line remained out the door. We ordered a corned beef on rye and a roast beef on white. We found our new favorite sandwich place. Total was $15.90 paid in cash. The bread was delicious. The meat was delicious. The veggies were fresh. The cheese was flavorful. We'll be back on a Thursday for the ribeye sandwich. We'll be back for the burger, the pork chop, and the ribs. There is a menu full of items we want to try because the deli sandwich was great. Highly recommend!

We couldn't decide what to order, so we ended up trying a little bit of everything. The tabbouleh, hummus, falafel, and spinach pie were all fantastic. Every single side was fresh and packed with flavor. The sauces deserve their own shoutout. I would happily take home a gallon of the garlic sauce, and the tzatziki was just as addictive. My husband ordered the Mediterranean salad, and my daughter and I shared the kids' shawarma plate. The salad was massive with a beautiful variety of fresh vegetables. The beef shawarma was incredibly tender, and the basmati rice was perfectly cooked. One thing that really stood out to me was the hospitality. While we were there, a family came in just before closing and asked if they could still be served. Without hesitation, the staff welcomed them in and accommodated them with such kindness. It felt less like a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone's home. You can tell there's real care behind every ingredient and every interaction. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and homemade. It left us feeling satisfied without feeling heavy, which isn't always easy to find when eating out. Safier is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. We'll definitely be back.
