I never had pho before so this was a new experience and my meal was delicious! I was starving so I also ordered an appetizer. I made the mistake of ordering fresh spring rolls thinking they were like Thai spring rolls -vegetarian- but when they came out they had been made with shrimp which I can't eat. It wasn't listed on the menu as having shrimp in them but I know now to ask in the future. The waiter was great though and brought me a new shrimp-feee spring roll dish made instead with tofu and it was fresh and flavorful. The vegetable pho was very delicious. This is strictly a food review. Some of the best Pho I've had. Every ingredient was fresh and only $10 for a big bowl of it. So it was a great bang for you buck. The mint provided a great contrast in the pho. I got the steak, brisket, and flank pho and the meat was cooked perfectly. Soft with great flavor. The broth wasn't greasy unlike other places. You didn't see a film of bubbles of oil or grease all on the top. It felt light in the stomach. I can't complain at all about this pho. It was good. Not enough for a 5 piece, but I'd rate it a 4.5/5 if I could. The sprouted mung beans they gave you were so fresh and provided a nice fresh soothing crunch munch for lunch that we all want to contrast that delicious hot pho. And the fresh jalapeños provided that extra punch of flavor on the throatolicles. Mmmhmm yessir. And that hosin sauce and sriracha wow so good mixed with that broth. Everything came out promptly and piping hot. Soup broth: delicious and flavorful. Meat: they give you a decent amount. Tastes fresh. Gyoza: Crispy outside, well seasoned filling inside. Spring rolls: I was expecting them to be served the way most Pho places in LA do... Thick fried spring rolls served with lettuce to wrap them in and a watery sweet dipping sauce. The scene: Pho plus is busy. Nearly all the tables are filled with patrons. It's snowing outside and it's the middle of April. Apparently there's some sort of Optum Insurance conference going on just steps down Center Street at the Convention Center. We enter the scene with Rebekah, sitting by herself at Pho Plus, mindlessly scrolling through various social medium platforms. Enter- Waiter. He's flustered, she can tell, but she doesn't mind. She has two hours until she has to be anywhere and sitting in a warm restaurant drinking tea doesn't sound bad. Waiting isn't a big deal to her. She orders fried spring rolls and chicken pho (because red meat sort of makes her sick sometimes, and chicken is amazing, okay?), with a side of jasmine tea and a glass of water. The waiter apologizes profusely and explains there might be a wait. Rebekah, the casual and oh so patient young lady, explains she's fine as she is and can wait longer if he needs to serve others. She sits, OH SHE SITS, and within a few minutes, steaming hot tea and a plate of two fried spring rolls are in front of her. She savors each sip of hot tea, soothing her aching throat, and bites deeply and lovingly on each spring roll, dipping it in the delicious and delectable sauce it came with. She doesn't know what kind of sauce it is, but it's tangy and savory at the same time, and Rebekah is brimming with love. Only five to ten minutes pass before a bowl of hot, heavenly chicken pho is placed in front of her. Rebekah is overjoyed, nearly bursting at the seams. She douses it with hoisin sauce, 1/8th of a teaspoon of chili sauce as to not offend her sensitive tongue, and loads it with sprouts, lime and mint. It tastes incredible, it defies all description!! It's nearly exploding with flavor and is the perfect temperature. Lights fade and spotlight falls on Rebekah. A look of pure bliss is mounted on her face and happiness cascades off of her in waterfalls. She stands on the tables and sings praises to the chef, she weeps with tears of joy and wails in pure bliss....... Lights on, and the world is back. Rebekah finishes her tea, pays for her pho, and exits the restaurant feeling more alive than she's felt in her long 22 years of living. read more

Somewhat of a weird layout in this restaurant, I came in to order some pho and a banh mi to go and the front "waiting room" of the restaurant had no seating, it actually had two tables in the corners for dine in guests. Pretty weird, and to place my order I had to walk through the dining area towards the back of the restaurant where the cashier is then back to the front where I just kinda stood around and waited haha ANYWAYS! Beautiful restaurant and great food. The pho was served in a massive bowl and was delicious. I admit, I've never had Vietnamese before so I can't speak to its authenticity, but it tasted really good to this otherwise uninitiated person. The spring rolls and the Korean BBQ pork and rice were also hearty and yummy. The portion sizes were large and I was pleasantly surprised by the prices. Based on the decor, I was anticipating the place to be a lot more expensive than it was. The best part though, was the service. The man who I assume was the owner noticed that a member of our group was having a hard time trying to eat and juggle his squirmy baby at the same time. When he brought us our food, he actually offered to hold the baby and did so until our friend was finished eating. Just walked her around the restaurant letting her look at things and visit with other guests. He also spent time at the end of our meal chatting with us. That guy knows how it's done. I LOVE PHO. My husband and I usually go to Rice King for our pho fix, but tonight we decided to try Pho Plus. They did not disappoint. The pho broth was rich and flavorful and they served it with a generous portion of basil on the side. I felt almost like I was back in Orange County at my favorite local pho shop. They also have boba smoothie here. I highly recommend the taro. Creamy and the perfect amount of sweet. If you still have room after your meal, order some of the deep fried cheesecake. It's fine. Nothing jumps out and slaps me upside my taste buds, though. There's closeby competition that does, too. So, for my tastes, Pho Plus is just okay. I'm not a fan of their fresh spring rolls. This course is a must for me - sometimes it's the entire meal. Their version lacks most of what I love in a fresh roll...flavor, fresh veg, good balance between noodles, veg, and meat, and great peanut sauce. Next, and this is where Pho Plus falls off the map for me, the Pho broth doesn't compete with the competition, either. It lacks complexity and depth of flavor. It's not horrible to eat, but I could likely get a similar broth out of a can/envelope. This is all I need to know, quite frankly. Beyond that, I don't really care what your menu offers, or how the service is. I am in it for the food - and the food at Pho Plus is ... fine. But not in the best way, unfortunately. If the around-the-corner competition is closed, or otherwise can't provide me with the tasty Vietnamese offerings, I may be coerced to come back to Pho Plus. But, I'd probably still opt to travel a bit further to get better food. read more

Food is fabulous! So fresh, so delicious, so refreshing, and very reasonably priced. Pho, rice dishes, noodle dishes, and bahn mi are all excellent. However, the service is quite lacking at times. I've had visits with decent service, and I've had visits with terrible service. Most recent visit had the worst service so far, with the waitress ignoring our table for our entire stay once we got our food: drinks never refilled, never checked on, and we saw her standing around drinking her drink and chatting with coworkers while she paid our and other tables no attention whatsoever. So, definitely go for the food, but don't expect great service. Maybe consider takeout instead. read more

A couple sat at the table next to me, I noticed they ordered large, and I honestly couldn't tell the difference in size between mine and theirs. I ordered a #5 (steak & brisket) and a taro boba smoothie. The flavor of the broth was great, the consistency of the boba was pleasant, and the taro was perfectly creamy and sweet. The taste was pretty standard which is not a knock against it. Standard is good but that is not what made this bowl standout. What did was the copious amount of tendon! So often you're lucky to get one or two pieces in a bowl. Here, I kept finding piece after piece as I continued. Well done! That took this bowl up a notch. Stopped in for lunch as we were passing through town, the staff was super friendly and helpful. We got the dumpling pho with noodles, some steaming hot edamame with salt, and crispy, delicious gyoza. The pho broth was very flavorful and hearty, and the dumplings were really good! They included plenty of bean sprouts, lime and basil leaves for the pho too. Okay I've eaten at many Pho' spots and this place has got to be the worst. I don't know how y'all make the broth but dog water comes to mind. The pho tasted as if someone who dislikes or allergic to it, was in charge of making it. What makes it even worse is their location is in such a high foot traffic area.
