We were in Utah and went to pho plus for dinner. Is located in a little area of Orem and there were multiple restaurants, shops, and ice cream shop, a place where a person could get drinks located on the street. Not a big restaurant, but the food was very tasty and they were very helpful. I would go back if I was in the area for sure. read more

Love the food here. You cannot go wrong with just about any item on the menu. I love that my wife can order her delicious pho and I can order a delicious rice, meat, and veggie bowl. Everything tastes fresh and healthy. The meat is cooked perfectly. The portions are wonderful, especially for the price. I recommend the pork and rice. The spring rolls that came with it are the only thing I think needs improvement. There was no filling in either one. Just the fried roll.. thought that was interesting. The atmosphere is great. It's very cozy and has space. There is a lot of chipped paint on the walls. A surprising amount. Just one can of paint will take care of it and it would feel like a total face lift. Pho plus has a great bowl of pho! It was HUGE and loved that they provided lots of toppings and flavorings on the side. We were seated very quickly and our food came out fast too. They have a great location on center street that makes it very convenient. I ordered pho with steak- and I have to admit the steak was not my favorite, to the point where I probably only ate half the steak in my bowl. If I came back, I would probably order the brisket which I hear is more traditional in pho. Overall, great bowl of pho but just put some thought into your meat selection. read more

Been consuming pho since my teens. All started at a place called Pho Hung in Portland... but that's another story. Pho plus serves some solid, well-portioned pho bowls. Today I went with the steak, brisket, and tripe. Large bowl was gigantic and extremely filling. They use actual beef broth here, so you get that deep savory taste that only beef can provide. Also loved their BBQ pork and shrimp rice plate. The fish sauce blows the roof off. Prices are also extremely reasonable for the quality and the portions. Only thing is that the space and decor is a little... rustic. But perhaps this is part of the small restaurant charm. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Note that pho plus is kind of Asian fusion. The edamame, gyoza and other items are from the Japanese culinary tradition. All you really need to know about Pho Plus is that the pho is good, and everything else is not, including the service which was horrendous. The pho is yummy and seems pretty authentic (but how would I know). The different kinds have different base broth flavors. My aunt ordered the shrimp pho which had a cinnamony/nutmegy broth flavor. It was delicious! I ordered the #8, which had brisket, flank, and steak, and the broth was beef flavored. Both were great!! There were plenty of noodles and meat inside, though my mom's was lacking in dumplings. I can eat a lot, but I wasn't able to finish the regular size. The service was absolutely terrible. We never saw our waitress besides the times she took our order and brought our food. Nevermind that we had asked for a fork.... or that our waters were all empty, and we had to stand up to go find someone to fill them up. The servers were really inattentive. Also, no one told us that we wouldn't get brought a check, so we were all waiting for a while before one of us finally got up to ask. Although the pho was good, everything else was not. The orange chicken had the consistency of beef jerky. My husband ended up eating his because he was hungry, but I tried a piece, and it tasted like it had just sat in a warmer for hours. It was really so tough!! The Banh mi was fine, and the pasta dish was just okay. (So again, the only food that was good was the pho). While in Provo I spotted this little Pho place on center street. They had a sign saying that they were awarded for the best pho in utah. I haven't had pho else where in utah yet, but it would be disappointing if this was the best the state had to offer. Don't get me wrong, the pho was very good but the broth lacked the depth of flavor that I expect the very best places. Having said that, the portion sizes were great. I got a regular bowl and even that was too much to finish. Adding in the lime, mint, and bean sprouts added some additional flavor. I would definitely come back here. Just one waiter working at what was a busy time -- he did a great job trying to keep up with everyone. They really could do with more staff. Pho is some of my favorite food ever, and when I moved here, was looking for a good place to get some. Stopped by here and was extremely let down. They served me raw grey shrimp in the spring rolls. Still had a poop vane and the pho was extremely salty and bitter. Definitely will not come back here. When I tried to let the chef know about the shrimp, he told me to F off. Went to Pho Plus on a Tuesday at 11:30 - right when they open. Within 30 minutes there wasn't a seat available which is a great indication that a place will be great. That assumption was proven true with the food, the friendly staff, and the quality of the establishment. I did not get pho (I will be better next time) but the two in my party who did both raves about it, and I've heard from others that it is delicious as well. I got a pork and shrimp noodle bowl which was absolutely delicious. The flavors meshed well, the vegetables were fresh, and the portion was great for the price. My two friends who got pho both got the regular and it was massive. I've also had the banh mi before and they are fantastic! My one gripe was how long it took for us to check out once we finished our meal and the fact that I didn't get any water refill in the 40 minutes we were there. In terms of the food - it was 5 stars! I have had Pho in a number of cities in my travels and this is on par with any I have had anywhere in dense Vietnamese populations. The broth had a deep beef flavor without being overly salty like you would find with just a Beef bouillon cube or powder base. The fresh vegetables make every bite crisp you yet full with the broth and wonderfully soft noodles. When in town I highly recommend this spot! My two big qualms with the bahn mi sandwich: the bread is too soft, and if you print that you're going to put picked daikon AND carrots it in (which are necessary to cut through the jalapeño) then please put it in the sandwich! I never had pho before so this was a new experience and my meal was delicious! I was starving so I also ordered an appetizer. I made the mistake of ordering fresh spring rolls thinking they were like Thai spring rolls -vegetarian- but when they came out they had been made with shrimp which I can't eat. It wasn't listed on the menu as having shrimp in them but I know now to ask in the future. The waiter was great though and brought me a new shrimp-feee spring roll dish made instead with tofu and it was fresh and flavorful. The vegetable pho was very delicious.
