It was eerily quiet in the restaurant (no music or anything), so if you're looking for a sensory break, this might be welcome, but otherwise it's a bit jarring. I wasn't the biggest fan of the kind of egg rolls in the vermicelli bowl- they're more like fried spring rolls. The options for pho in Provo seem very limited. We tried this place out and got take out. We got chicken pho and a simple noodle dish. The pho was decent. The employees were pleasant and polite. One of the most authentic Vietnamese food ever! I was hesitant when entering but geeeez I was shocked! We ordered the pho, avocado smoothie, the iced coffee and the vermicelli noodle dish. Let me tell you. I've tried A LOT of Vietnamese iced coffee THIS one here. I was so pleasantly surprised it was one of the best! We thought someone forgot to turn it on, but it's probably on construction. You order on the counter and they are going to bring the food to you. We ordered a couple items, such as the spring rolls for appetizer, the brisket pho (not on pictured), the chicken fried rice and a plate of lemongrass chicken. Our initial thought the food was good! Starting with the appetizer. The spring rolls were mediocre. The rolls were wrapped in rice paper with a cabbage inside, which I found it interesting. The pho broth is one of the tastiest broth I've taste outside San Gabriel Valley in LA. However, we notice that the meat portion was insufficient to the point that there are only few slices of meat. It goes same with the chicken fried rice. As you can see the chicken meat was minced very thoroughly. This left us wondering if we did ordered the chicken fried rice, not the plain one. This is our biggest complaint because I rather pay $14 to $15 rather than the meat portion was cut to teeny-tiny little pieces. The service was a hit or miss. The person that was taking our order was very helpful and welcoming. However, after he left, the other gentleman does not pay attention to us at all. I had to say that I hate to give this place a 3 star review because I do like the food here. The food was excellent as well as the service. We had the spring roll appetizer which were 2 large spring rolls cut in haves. We also had the fried dumplings as an appetizer. These came out perfectly and crispy. Then our party of three each had pho. I had the rare steak which was very tender. Another in my party had the house special which was basically the same but also had a few additional ingredients in it. They enjoyed it. Very fast and quick service, 10 minutes is an exceptional preparation time considering how many others were dining inside the restaurant when I came to pick up my order. I had a quick glance on the inside, as I was simply there to pickup my order, and from what I saw, the area inside was very spacious and had plenty of tables. In-restaurant service was nice as well, the lady managing the front ordering/pick-up counter was excellent and was very attentive to my needs just from the short time I was in the restaurant. She got my food quick, and made the paying process very easy. For the food quality, it was good. Plentiful with the protein as well. We also got the spring rolls that we enjoyed. Came with the classic beef/chicken/shrimp inside. They have a peanut-ish(?) dipping sauce. Almost like peanut sauce mixed with hoisin. I do prefer a classic peanut sauce but It didn't stop us from enjoying the whole order. House Special Beef Pho that included rare steak, brisket, meatball, and tendon. Taste the broth first!! For me, the broth was rich yet clean, and loaded with flavor that brought warmth to my soul. There was a generous portion of noodles and meat and on the side, a heaping plate of toppings - bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, lime, jalapeños. There were only 2 people working but the quality and attention to detail was great. One of the ladies was multitasking, taking orders, helping with cooking, and serving us and I was amazed that her quality of service never diminished amongst all the tasks. I moved to Provo recently. Our first meal was at Lovely Pho. Straight away 100%. As a strict herbivore and avid Pho eater, I will say that the veggie pho broth is outstanding. Very hard to find anything like this in depth and richness. I have lived in multiple cities and am always searching for the good pho. This is it. I have eaten at a multitude of pho places over the past 25 years or so. This new discovery is in my top 5 in the continental US. They invest serious time and care in this all natural broth. We ate there again on the second day and intend to frequent this place. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about people's varied diets. They provide a bunch of limes, cilantro, basil and sprouts. For those who aren't aware, all of that goes in the pho! That's literally how you eat it. Don't waste it, those goodies are for consumption, not a disposable garnish! Please don't insult the hosts by discarding what they provide for you. Or if you don't want to eat traditional pho, just ask them to take away the delicious, aromatic herbs and freshies. The appetizers are great! The atmosphere is chill and there is plenty of space. We (two of us) ordered to share: - Thai tea w/ boba: this was the least fave out of everything. I asked if the boba was fresh, and it was not fresh. The boba was hard and not chewy. This was on a late Sunday afternoon. - Cream cheese wontons: light, fresh and crispy outside, delish, smooth cream cheese inside. Dipping sauce was good. - Spring rolls: probably the best spring rolls I've ever had. I usually don't like rice paper, but it was so fresh and flavorful.
