Pho Pasteur Out of 5: 3.5 - Pho Tai: delicious flavorful broth. Nice slightly al dente noodles and pretty good meat 3.0 - vermicelli with pork: pork was well marinated and cooked great, with a fair amount of maillard reaction and slight charring. These noodles were standard. Fish sauce is on the stronger side. read more

The broth and noodles were great. The restaurant had a great ambiance, especially for a cold and rainy day. Unfortunately, there was a cougher who was not eating or covering his mouth so I took the food to go and my noodles were mush when I got home. read more

I pick up takeout from them every few weeks and right now my go to spot for vietnameese in the area. Pho and spring rolls are solid and I really enjoy the Bún bò Huế. Their banh mi is probably the best in the area. read more

Really good pho. The Bun Bo Hue was really good but it came with thick rice noodles when I was expecting thin, maybe my mistake. The customer service was fantastic. The woman who took my phone order was happy to give me extra cilantro and lime. And the spring rolls are really tasty! read more

Simplicity comes from a warm bowl of pho. My new favorite go to spot for a quick bite, food is made just right and the staff is super friendly to be around! it is definitely a great spot to have some soul food, close to home dishes. read more

Food came out really fast. They have the best iced coffee! Place is not too quite, and not too loud.

Great Pho. Friendly staff. Just a couple negatives regarding cleanliness. Bathroom is disgusting - praying this is no reflection of kitchen. After I finished joyfully slurping and splattering pho on my shirt I proceeded to spill a container of pho to go on our table. The towel used to clean the mess was spoiled and disgusting smelling. I can only imagine this was used to clean previous tables. From the looks of the cloudy glass on two entry doors maybe they used the same towel. Get this place cleaned up! Otherwise pho was great! read more

The Phò is good here. I have been coming here for years now. Never a bad experience here.

I have been coming to pho Pasteur for the last few years and it always hits the spot! This is the go to place for my friends and I when it's raining, or when I'm not feeling well. I always order the vegetarian pho with vegetable broth and it is so hearty. Service is very quick, and you get a very local and homey vibe from the place. Hole in the wall, but probably the best pho in the area! read more

Pho Pasteur - Vegetarian pho - Vietnamese Near Me - Catonsville, Maryland

This is my first time visiting the business. We ate here for lunch. Inside was a little crowded so if you plan to eat here be mindful of large groups. I had in the menu the Pho Tom with shrimp . It was pretty good . The service was really fast & the business was pretty clean. read more

Just when I thought that a good bowl of pho doesn't exist outside of Northern Virginia, this mom and pop establishment has proven me wrong. The decor is appropriately thematic, simple and quaint. The service is attentive and expedient. I opted for the beef wrapped in grape leaves. The appetizer was savory but oddly served with a sweet sauce instead of the traditional nuoc mam. The pho dac biet (house special) had a solidly beefy broth with strong anise. The cuts of meats and offal (tendons, tripes, ve) were generous. The accompanying herbs add-ons were fresh and fragrant. I did not need much of siracha or hoisin to accentuate the broth. The rice noodles were clumpy at the start, but were not broken and settled nicely. Overall, a very good bowl of pho. They have a very good selection of vietnamese fares on their menu besides the pho and I look forward to trying them all out. read more

There are about 7 or so Pho places in the Baltimore area. I would have to say Pho Pasteur is the one that I frequent now most regularly. It has the standard pho, and does it well. Get the same thing (Pho #1) every time, along with summer/spring rolls, and thai iced tea with boba. The rolls are okay. If you just want those, the best are found at Mekong delta though. read more

I used to go to another pho location but they never had the spicy pho and I left disappointed a few times. So we decided to try this location which is right next to HMART. The food was fast, the shrimp rolls were just eh. Too much ice burg lettuce in them. The spicy pho was great. Lots of flavor and plenty of food. Overall a great meal, though next time I will stick with only the pho. read more

Ok, but not as complete as Pho Saigon or Pho Van. The restaurant sits in the H-Mart parking lot, all the way to left of the supermarket. The inside is appointed nicely, it's clean, and the service was attentive (especially with water refills). My gf and I ordered 2 bowls of pho and a summer (they call them spring) rolls. The summer rolls are made with pork and are loosely wrapped so they fall apart and generally have no flavor unless drowned in peanut sauce. Pass. I ordered a large #4 - brisket and flank. The bowls come out 2 minutes after you order. I don't know whether I should be impressed or suspicious. Probably the latter. The broth is lighter in savoriness, salt, and overall flavor than its competitors. The size difference between the regular and the large is minimal. The large bowl is too small for the meat and noodles (plus add-ons), so the noodles clump together. Even though Pasteur provides a decent pho experience, with so much pho competition in the Catonsville area, unfortunately I won't be back. For anyone new to the pho scene, I recommend trying Pho Saigon as your starting point and then branching out to the numerous others in the area. read more

Pho Pasteur is a lovely, friendly, and super fast pho option in the Woodlawn area. We've stopped in a few times for takeout, and other than the time that they lost my debit card (and said they didn't have it when we came back), they've had great service. Once you order, pho is ready to go in about four or five minutes max! Not my favorite broth, but a good one. Make sure to ask for a sauce container and pour your own spicy options to go, as there isn't always one in the bag. Summer rolls could definitely do with a lot more flavor, though - sauce is gloppy and underseasoned, and the rolls themselves have almost no flavor. Stick with the soup here, and if you need a summer roll fix try Pho Dat Thanh. read more

Great tasting pho broth...although not enough meat in either the pho or the regular dish. Ordered the grilled chicken with egg rolls which came with vermicelli noodles. Good was flavorful that it was finished. Ample parking n seating available. It is in the same shopping center as Hmart. read more

Amazing atmosphere, service, and the pho is spectacular. I firmly believe it's the best in the Catonsville area. I am there multiple times a month if not multiple times a week. read more

Soup base is tasteless and not warm enough. Smoothie no pearls. Dirty place. Dirty restroom. No toilet paper. Never again.

There are many Pho restaurants in the Baltimore area, but this is definitely one of the best. I've been coming here a few times a month for 3 years now and they never fail to disappoint me. Their service is great. You are seated right when you walk in and as soon as you know what you want, someone is right there to take down your order. Usually the food comes within 5 minutes; no more than 10. Their specialty is Pho of course, but they have other great soups, rices, spring rolls, and more. There's also a wide variety of drinks ranging from hot tea, to boba smoothies, to drip coffee. I give it 4 stars because it has great food and service. The only thing I can think of for improvement is to update the tables since some are kind of wobbly. Overall, love it! read more

Pho Pasteur - Delicious! - Vietnamese Near Me - Catonsville, Maryland

Pho Pasteur has become a staple lunch stop. Honestly, I'd eat pho for breakfast if it were available. The word is spreading that Pho Pasteur is the noodle-shizznit. There are more tables full every time I go in. It's fresh, it's clean, the service is friendly, the pho is tasty, and they accept plastic even with very reasonable prices. As long as they keep giving me the hot pho injection, they can keep tapping my wallet. read more

This is BY FAR one of the best pho places I've tried in the Baltimore area, and possibly elsewhere as well. First off, the atmosphere is really nice, it's not "cheap" looking like the ones I've been to in the Rockville area. The pho is good quality, the only minor thing I would say is that it took me some time to separate the noodles but NBD. Also I never knew what "delicious" sauce meant, til I tried the spring rolls with their sauce...mmmm so tasty!! Although the spring rolls were kinda puny compared to the spring rolls at some of the other places I've been to, but I guess their sauce made up for that. The service was really quick and very friendly too. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My go-to pho restaurant in B-more :) read more

The pho here is legit. I've tried various places in and around Baltimore and this might be the best. The broth is clear and light and comes with sliced onions and cilantro. The regular bowl was more than enough for me. Not a fan of the well done flank, but meatball and round eye steak were good. read more

I used to go here often when I moved to Baltimore before I found better spots. SURROUNDING: It's literally right next to Hmart, so it's convenient to go after getting your groceries. SERVICE: Very fast. I have never waited for more than 5 minutes for my pho here. Cash and credit. Clean and nice interior. Not an ethnic crowd. FOOD: Tried the summer rolls and pho. Summer rolls are pretty good, but hard to screw up. Pho used to be better, they have been pretty subpar in the past 6 months or so. They also changed their bowls in the past year to make their portions smaller... PRICE: Price also went up in the past 6 months. ~8/small ~9/large. The small portion is not really worth getting unless you are on diet. BOTTOM LINE: Convenient because of location, but pho saigon/van is right up the road. NOTE: I have eaten here more than 10 times and once or twice, it has sent me sprinting for the nearest bathroom. read more

This a solid place for pho and I've had the bac viet many times. However, this review is for the banh mi bo xao, the steak banh mi. I was disappointed recently by Man vs Pho's brisket banh mi, which was frankly a mess that didn't understand the joy of banh mi's toppings. No such problem here- the pickled daikon was crunchy and fresh, the cilantro was not overwhelming, and the sliced jalapenos made my mouth tingle and refreshed my appetite. Stop in and have one with the fresh limeade and you will experience the last best taste of summer. read more

The service was good but the food was not good. Below average. Boring food... they use iceberg lettuce instead of leafy green. The grill chicken scared me, too one bite and it was so nasty I had to spit it out. I didn't even finish my vermicelli bowl. I will not come back. read more

The best Pho in the area hands down And yes, I've been to all of them Best Broth BY FAR Best noodles BY FAR Best Meat Killer Fish Balls Quick Actually nice decor Spotless Plus, you always need something at H-Mart And they ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS, which i think is so damn cheap not to Don't miss it read more

This is my go-to pho takeout restaurant. I switched from Pho Van because of them not accepting credit cards. Blatantly avoiding taxes is a bit of a pet peeve for me (if the fees are the issue, let me pay them, I gladly will), plus having to run to an ATM when I'm unexpectedly out of cash (I never use cash unless I have to), and paying $6 in fees is a major inconvenience. From a food perspective, in the past few months I found that I prefer the broth of Pho Pasteur, it has this aromatic scent that adds to the experience for me. The quality of the various beef cuts is also above many other Pho places around. The rare stake is actually rare and cooks perfectly in the steaming broth. In the tens of times that I have ordered from them, I found the food quality to be completely consistent every time. I reserve 5 stars for fine dining establishments like Volt in Frederick, or Komi in DC... 4 stars is top notch for me for restaurants that don't compete in that category. read more

I'm disheartened to say this, but my last few trips here have been disappointing. Not sure what's going on, but they have raised their prices and lowered the quality of food. Its disappointing. The pho soup base itself actually tastes more watered down. Portions are smaller and smaller, and we ordered a rice dish and the quantity was smaller their as well. Furthermore, it seems like they are using cheaper cuts of meat too. Perhaps its time to move onto another place ... read more

Good restaurant... especially if you like Bun Bo Hue. I'm a big fan of this rarely-served Viet dish. Most westerners only know of Pho, but us Vietnamese have more variety in noodle soups than just that prolific dish. When I travel I always try to get BBH, because I like spicier dishes and Viet food isn't inherently spicey like Thai. While working in Baltimore for a couple years I tried it and must say the broth is on point! As other reviewers on the BBH dish have already noted... it is very good. The best I've ever had in NA (LA, Toronto, Dallas, DC, Houston, Atlanta, Detroit, NYC). I'm sure there is somebody else making it better, but I can't eat at every Viet place. They got the broth, noodle, meat, blood curd, and most of the veggies right. Now had they had the banana sprout stuff available it would have been 5 stars. Most BBH at other restaurants are dumbed down for western taste buds. Not this place. It is spicey enough for a pepper lover like me give thumbs up. read more

Pho was very good. My son liked pho do bien (seafood). Husband liked the beef pho and spring rolls very tasty. The bun with pork and spring rolls was good although I didn't realize the amount of char grilling. They were very nice and brought me less blackened meat. We will be back. read more

The restaurant set up is warm.. Traditional American asian fusion! Nothing fancy but cute quint and comfy! They host was super nice and swift.. Oh yeah you seat yourself! Anyhow , I was seated a looked over the menu which isn't the clearest as to what's in your bowl. They do have pictures on the outside but you still don't have a true detail ! I ordered spicy beef soup.. The soup was spicy!!!! But I could bare it! It had so tough fatty meat so I took it out and some strange white stuff which I found out the next day that it was Vietnamese Bologna (yuck and I did not eat that either) other than that my soup was awesome next time I will get vegetarian soup bowl oh they give you the prettiest utensils to use and chop sticks read more

Hole in the wall, literally...and not in a good way either! Food was terrible!! We ordered 2 BBH's and they were the most disgusting BBH's we've ever had anywhere! Broth was lacking BBH flavor and not the least bit spicy. The meat was tougher than rawhide, like it has been zapped 100X, so it was completely inedible! The whole place reeked of stinky rags, everything was dirty and sticky. Floors were greasy and slippery throughout, like it hadn't been mopped in ages. My daughter walked to the restrooms and on her way, saw that the kitchen was a complete and utter mess and lost her appetite. Waiter barely spoke English and yelled out orders to the kitchen every time, at the top of his lungs, from the front desk counter. Then when we got up to go pay, I had to wake him up from his DEEP slumber to ring me up. He was completely knocked out, while on the job, with patrons still in the place! What a hot mess of a place! read more

The boyfriend and I got another craving for pho last night, but we wanted to expand our horizons and see if there were better places than what we've currently experienced. After checking Yelp quickly, we decided to try Pho Pasteur. The decor is attractive and the surroundings quite clean. So far, this place doesn't look much different than Pho #1 down the street. We looked over the menus and decided to have the ubiquitous summer rolls and pho - LoML decided on the #4 (sorry, I have no idea of what it actually was, but it's one of the more popular selections), I decided on the #11, meatball pho (which is a bit different, for me, but I wanted something new). The pho here was good, though the broth needed quite a bit of doctoring - it was really light, almost too watery. The meatballs were excellent, however, and if they taste at other places like they did here, I'll be ordering it all the time. The rolls, however... well, we've had a lot better. It did seem like they were cluttered up with filler, and "old" filler at that. They weren't totally inedible, far from it - but the rolls at Mekong Delta or Pho Nom Nom in Rockville blow them away. We're getting to the point where we can tell the good from the bad when it comes to pho. Pho Pasteur falls squarely in the middle as far as food goes - not bad, not great. The service was brusque to the point of being a little on the rude side, but we weren't too bothered by it, as we've come to expect that in Viet restaurants, it's just the way it is. Would we come here again? Yes, most likely, if we have a reason to be in the neighbohood. It helps that H-Mart is steps away. read more

Average pho. Nothing sticks out as good or bad... Ordered the spring and summer rolls as appetizers but they came out with our pho so by the time I got to the soup, it was bit cold. Other than that, a-ok. Do try their AVACADO boba drink. Made with real avacado. Yummy~ Can't top the Four Sister's in VA but better than Pho Dat Thahn's in Columbia. read more
