Joining friends for dinner here was both a surprise and a nice experience. A very sim

Piping hot Wonton Soup (not spicy, just fresh, flavorful, and scalding hot!)

This unassuming, strip mall donut shop and pho bistro is well worth your time. I adopted this place as my go-to for both workday lunch refuge and weekly family dinner staple. This is a family owned and operated business in the truest sense. They take great pride in the quality of their service and food alike. Everything on the menu, including the donuts are worth your time!

Pretty bummed about this one. I don't usually eat lunch during the work week but as I have been fighting some sinus stuff, I thought I'd treat myself to some piping hot Pho. This place is about 2 mins from my workplace so I thought I was in luck. I was immediately sat in a corner and brought Jasmine tea, the place was clean and lit with natural light. I order #9 which has chicken, rice noodles, in a chicken broth. I have never ordered a chicken broth based pho before so maybe it's the norm but I was really sad to not be given basil for my pho, like I'd usually get. The chicken had to be boiled because it was rubbery and white as a snowflake. Sadly, this Pho left a lot to be desired and I had to add copious amounts of soy sauce and sriracha just to have some minimal flavor. While it was piping hot and all the sriracha I added helped clear my sinuses, I was disappointed. The waitress was very nice and attentive but the food just wasn't good. There are so many great Pho options in Reno, I don't think I would come back here, despite it being so close to work.

I can't believe this place does not have a higher rating! My friend suggested to go to get the lemon chicken...she told me it was the old school (probably not at all authentic" bright yellow lemon chicken we grew up with. I ordered the lemon chicken, chicken chow mein and cream cheese wontons. I literally can't explain how delicious it was! The staff was so friendly when I called, was ready quickly and were so nice when I picked up. The prices are reasonable and they are not skimpy with the portions. This all was about $36 and I ate at least 4 times from this. They have a great lunch special i can't wait to try!

Cantaloupe Boba

I've been here a few times. Every time it's been a pretty good meal. I always get one of their boba drinks which are great as they are made with fresh fruit. Today I just got pork buns which were pretty good along with a cantaloupe boba. The service is always good. The dining area has both booths and tables. I see a lot of to go orders so I know others like this place.

Pho Dac Beit
Arriana A.

The pho dac beit is the way to go. The broth smelled inviting the noodles didn't fall apart (the stringy onions were my favorite part) yummy. The music is relaxing, it's a very small venue and it gets busy . Please be patient, I believe it's a mom and pop shop just the two of them . You can smell and hear the food frying and you can see it sizzle as it walks by. I can't wait to come back and try another dish

Prices are reasonable

If you are looking for Vietnamese/Chinese food that is reasonably priced and has good-sized portions, this is your place. This place also sells donuts in the morning. Family owned and very friendly, I appreciated that prices here are less than other similar restaurants the area. The menu has a lot to offer and I will need to return several times to try each one of them. I walked in to order take out and waited 15 minutes. Everything is made to order so it is fresh and piping hot. The reason for the 4 stars is the food is slightly salty for my taste. I will be asking for less salt the next time I visit.

Pork buns
Margarita V.

Happened to see this place while going to the bank. Ordered the pork buns (ate some before I remembered to take a picture) & some donuts. The buns were made fresh & were steaming as I got them. I love pork buns & these did not disappoint. They weren't too salty & a decent dough to filling ratio. Very delicious and satisfying. Looking forward to getting more.

This place really stands out for both the quality of the food and the authenticity of the flavors. The dishes taste fresh and homemade, with the kind of balance of spice, sweetness, and flavor you expect from real Thai cooking, not watered-down versions. The curries are rich and flavorful, the noodle dishes are excellent, and the spice levels are done right if you like authentic heat. Our waitress Nid was great, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, and the service is friendly and welcoming. Overall, Moo Dang Reno is one of the best Thai food spots in Reno and definitely worth a visit if you enjoy authentic Thai cuisine.

I then had to fight to flag a waitress to ask for chili paste to get any heat in my entire dish. I like that there are veggies with it and the noodles have a good chew, but I've found zero dishes with anything near Thai spices here My partner got the pad thai, which was sickly sweet yet didn't taste like tamarind, fish sauce nor contain pickled veg. The wood ear in it was excellent, but I've never seen it in pad thai. The thai ice tea was good, maybe a bit heavy on sweetener. I don't understand the high ratings here, based pireh on food. Thai Chili has far better flavors, and is rated lower. The wait staff/food runners lacked politeness, and never checked if we enjoyed our food or needed anyone. Sans the person filling everyone's water, we were never checked on in any other capacity. The restaurant was a cacophony of noise and conversation, I had to lean across the booth to have any chance of hearing my companion. The noise level is overwhelming if you have sensory issues at all. The decor is pretty cool.

Unfortunately, the flavors were quite different from what I expected. The food wasn't bad, but it tasted different from what I'm used to. The popcorn chicken was more on the sweet side rather than savory. The fried rice was okay but not very flavorful. The zha jiang mian was also sweeter than expected. Usually the ones I've had in Asia are very savory. I've even had zha jiang mian in Alameda, California, and that version was savory, not sweet at all. At one point my husband even wondered if they might have accidentally used sugar instead of salt. The mapo tofu was also a bit too sweet. The best one was the beef noodle soup. That was 7/10 it was my favorite out of all. In general, we didn't enjoy the food very much. The service was okay. I understand they were very busy, so it's understandable. The restaurant itself is clean but extremely packed and busy.

Today we got the following: Garlic Pork & Rice - My dish. Deep fried pork with garlic, what is there NOT to like?!?! I did not expect it to be bite size pieces, which made it easy to eat. The sauce was on the side, which was not really needed. My rice might have been slightly undercooked...? Very firm/hard, or was it the last of the pot? Still good, but I would preferred it softer. The portions were generous with plenty of leftovers to pack up in takeout boxes for enjoying for another day. My favorite three were the ahi tuna, the black cod and the brilliant asian/french mash up of red Bean Creme Brulee. I also need to mention, I loved the lamb tenderloin. I am not a big lamb fan, but this New Zealand lamb was tender and non-gamey. The owners did an outstanding job of timing the dishes and engaging with our group while also taking care of other diners including non event patrons getting getting take-out and inhouse menu dining. The space is very small, but even with and almost full house, it didn't feel cramped. The ahi tartare portion anywhere else would have been a shareable appetizer. But each person was served a large portion of delicious fresh ahi. Mmmm this course and a glass of wine could be dinner alone any other evening. The soft creamy rich egg custard was hidden under a thick seafood gravy. I really enjoyed this unique dish. The miso black cod is always flaky and delicious. And the crab fried rice it's nestled on also never disappoints. The rich New Zealand stir fried lamb and shiitake mushrooms over pea shoots was a fabulous hearty dish on this chilly March evening. The braised short ribs were so tender no knife was needed, they flaked apart with the fork. And the e mein noodles were perfectly al dente. The dinner wrapped up with a crème brûlée that only Kwok's could pull off - red bean. Creamy smooth. Not overwhelming. The perfect burnt sugar layer on top. The regular menu is just as delicious. Small inside seating area, so recommend always make a reservation. In the summer there's a fabulous patio area out front. Limited street parking.

The menu is humongous. Dim sum, Chinese, sushi, Vietnamese, with lots of choices from every part of the menu. I started with the crab Rangoon's, and they were very good. The filling was a little bit sweet, and a little bit savory, and the shell was well fried, crispy, and not oily at all. They were offering a BOGO on the combination plate, and so that's what I went for. I had the garlic chicken, and the chicken with seasonal. Veggies. On both dishes, the chicken was moist and tender. The veggies were done well. Just the right consistency, not mushy at all. The taste was great. The only thing I could say, was, the garlic chicken was a bit spicy. About medium on what I like for spice, you could definitely see the red pepper flakes on that food. Unfortunately, nowhere in the menu did it mention the spicy part of it. I did like it, and the spice was within what I like, but I think the next time I would order something else. The fried rice was very well done with a good flavor also. It was just the rice. It had no egg or veggies in it. I had enough for two meals on the first combo, and the second one went into my portable cooler, and is going home to Sacramento with me.
