Rice with beef, chicken, pork & fried egg

Having driven by this place on numerous occasions I was eager to try it out. I love all kinds of foods from Asia especially Thai & Vietnamese. This use to be an older fish & chips place. Decor 2/5 Besides the outside of the restaurant, no other renovations were done. It has no Asian feel to it, in fact it looks very much like the fish & chips place that use to be there before. The decor was dated and bland. Service 4/5 Two young girls were serving us, and overall they were good. Had to ask a few times for water, cutlery etc, but they were pleasant and the food came fast. Food 3/5 The food was okay. I order the house special that came with rice, beef, pork & chicken. Also ordered a mango salad and some rice roll beef appetizer. The food was bland, really no flavour. At a place like this we normally would have opted for the Pho Soup but wanted to try something different. Overall it was okay, but not enough for me to want to come back. Many other places in Whitby that are better where the food is more flavourful. Follow me @jarrodeats on Instagram

Pho with rare beef and beef ball.

I give this place a 3.90 rating. We came here on a weeknight. We ordered pho with rare beef and beef ball, H4 which is a hue style noodle soup that most viets know is better than a bowl of pho and a vermicelli with spring roll and grilled chicken. First impressions: the portion sizes are generous. As you can see from my pic, the bowl of pho had large quantities of noodles, beef and beef balls. Every spoonful I took had at least some meat. A+ for this. The Hue noodle soup wasn't the best we've had. Skip this one in my opinion. The vermicelli was a large portion with lots of meat, veggies and an oily spring roll. Place was clean. Probably the second best Viet restaurant in Durham region right now. Yes I'm Viet if that matters.

So glad I tried this place. Co worker said this is her fave Vietnamese restaurant in Durham and…read moreshe's Vietnamese so decided to give it a try. We got takeout via in-store pickup. The restaurant is large and spacious inside with lots of booths. Lots of people waiting for pickup too. Ordered the B1 vermicelli combo with assorted meats, a spring roll, and a small beef brisket pho. Everything was tasty. Spring roll was skinny and could have pack more into it but it was pretty good. Love the pho. The the broth was just right, meat was tender. Really happy with the pho. Will be back!

We were craving some Viet food so stopped here hoping to fulfill our cravings ! Unfortunately this…read moredid not happen ! We got two vermicelli bowls aka bun ( house special and pork/spring roll vermicelli), two house special pho, 1 bun bo hue, 1 spring roll and 1 avocado smoothie ! The bun was so tasteless .. noodles were not like the regular Viet vermicelli but more like the Chinese style noodles and more dry . The meat tasted like curry and not like regular grilled meat .. it was also in a skewer format . The spring roll was weird, it's like a bunch of scrap ingredients were put into it forming the spring roll. The texture was soo strange - I've never ate anything like this ! The pho was very salty and did not have the beef bone taste ! They also didn't give any culantro or perilla ( purple leaf herb ) and only gave basil ! The avocado smoothie also tasted off - didn't personally try this but my Bro's gf said she had better ! The most disappointing was the fish sauce which was lacking fish sauce taste .. it was very weak tasting ! Overall , I was disappointed at my experience here and would not come back . 1 star for friendly staff and 1 star for the location - it was easy to find !

They recently offered complimentary pho on October 22nd and, of course, I had to take advantage of the offer. I had their beef pho along with their Thai spring rolls. Tofu fresh roll is ridiculous with super small piece of tofu. The pho broth is tasty. The spring rolls is good. The pickled carrot/radish is not as good as other places, but considering it is mostly just a garnish (even though I eat it), it's acceptable, I guess. Grilled chicken vermicelli is delicious. The tofu fresh roll is a complete waste of money. Two thick rolls thats filled with noodles, some veg, and a small piece of tofu that's as long as, but HALF as thick as my thumb (about 2inches long, 3/4inch wide, 1/2cm thick), is not worth $10. It's just tofu, it's not steak, either put more tofu or lower the price, because that is ridiculous. Including pic of the tofu fresh roll cut to show the size of the tofu thats actually hidden under all the noodles until I pull it out to the front. When we went in, the whole place smelled like cleaning solution. Not a very appetitizing smell at all. We got the food to go.
