Decided to try this after seeing the positive yelp reviews. I got the pho tai and pho ga for takeout, and it did not disappoint. There's different kinds of pho ga too depending on your preference, like you can choose between wings, thighs, etc. The meat was fresh and tender, and they have pretty big portions. We came here for lunch on Saturday. We got seated immediately without wait. We ordered a seafood pho and a French beef plate with tomato rice, both were very good. I liked the pho noodles and the broth very much, but I didn't finish the fish balls. I guess if I come back, I would order the beef pho. The manager or owner is super hospitable. I HATE IT WHEN A RESTAURANT WITH TASTY FOOD GAVE ME HORRIBLE SERVICE! This is what happened earlier today, I went to the restaurant and ordered a large chicken leg pho, asked the female cashier (who doesn't speak English and needed one of her boss to translate) not to give me any ginger sauce, and this was repeated couple of times. My bill was 14.25 and I gave her 20.25, she first gave me some coins along with the change, but quickly corrected her mistake. I then counted 8 dollars as change from her! I was nice enough to let her know she gave me 2 dollars extra, she didn't get it and her boss had to tell her what's going on. I expressed my concern about them hiring a cashier who's bad at math, but that boss told me to cool it!!!!!! Hello? I acted in kindness! Next, when I stepped back in 10 minutes later to pick up my food, they INCLUDED GINGER SAUCE!!! What's their problem with following simple instruction? I asked the same cashier to take that ginger sauce away and give me another scallion sauce. I've been to this place a couple of times and they never let me down. Service was great and the food here was yummy. I usually order the pho dad biet small noodles and pho tai with medium noodles. Both were very good. The soup base is super hot and no star anise flavor. The egg rolls are also delicious. Coffee is a bit strong so I always order it with extra sugar. Great Hainan Chicken dish with infused rice. I'll be coming back next time I'm in town. My family also loved it.

The hainan chicken rice here is my favorite dish. I would say that it's the best in the SGV. Savoy is pretty overrated since their hainan chicken rice is not authentic, while this place is very close to the authentic dish that I've had in Asia. The customer service here is very good. The portions are very generous and the side soup is delicious. I'm a regular here and come back at least a few times a month for this wonderful dish. read more

My family and I have been eating pho at pho ltk since their first restaurant in Monterey park. Happy that they moved their location to El Monte since it's even closer to where I live. I love the owner here as he's always attentive to our needs and super nice to us! I usually stick with ordering the main items such as the hai nam chicken rice, the pho ga, or the special beef noodle soup. The food is good...I just don't like a thumb in my soup. The guy working there should really think about how to hold a bowl of soup...you're supposed to hold it on the side with the palm of your hand. Not by the top of the bowl with your freaking thumb sticking into the soup. Freaking unsanitary. This place should really think about putting plates on the bottom of each bowl of soup so it's easier to handle. I mean...how hard it is to do that. This is by far the worst Pho in the SGV! If you don't know how to make Pho, please stop selling pho. The broth doesn't have the beefy pho flavor which lead me to believe that they did not use a lot of bones to make the broth. Plenty of slices of chicken and a side of ginger sauce to add more flavor! If your under the weather this soup will be perfect! Opens very early and is in a great location filled with parking spot. The staff was very friendly as we walked in and allowed us to sit wherever. I had a craving for beef pho but wasn't sure if I should come here since their menu consists of mostly chicken options. Glad I gave it a try because the Pho Dac Biet was actually not bad. The broth had a natural taste and was flavorful, and it didn't contain as much MSG as other places so you don't feel as thirsty from eating it. The bowl came with plenty of noodles and meat. They ran out of beef meatballs when we were there but that was alright. They also pre-blanched the bean sprouts so that was a nice touch. The thai basil given to us was also fresh. The kind lady who served us speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Teochew (Chiu Chow), English, and Vietnamese (and I heard her speak all of these while I was there!). At first we asked for water, but then she told us that their iced/hot tea was free so we got the iced tea. Overall I liked it and would recommend. Great find! All the dishes that I've tried were consistently very good. I especially come back here often for their chicken pho noodle. Order the large size either with white meat or dark meat. You won't regret it! The chicken curry is also very tasty - its best with rice. I've got to try the pork chop and other dishes from a good line up of menu. One must understand that owning a family business takes a lot of perseverance and I'm grateful for them to bring the best of their culinary, finding reasonable location, dedicated staff, and not necessarily to compete against other restaurants but dinky cater their specialty. I would remind and encourage foodies out there to support small businesses. You can never get enough of good surprises.
