I agree with all the previous reviews. This was the worst service we've ever experienced at Pho Koi. We used to come here all the time and really enjoyed it, but unfortunately things have changed a lot -- and not for the better. The food quality has definitely gone downhill. The flavors aren't the same, and the overall experience just wasn't what it used to be. On top of that, the workers were not friendly at all. There was no welcoming attitude, and customer service felt like an afterthought. While we were there on Saturday, two of the male employees kept hugging and goofing around instead of focusing on customers, which felt unprofessional. You could also hear the workers in the kitchen yelling at each others. Very unprofessional Sadly, we will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone. The service was beyond unprofessional it was insulting. We watched in disbelief as the staff seated several other parties who arrived well after us, chatting with them and taking their orders immediately while we were left sitting there like we were invisible. When we finally managed to flag someone down, the server acted like we were asking for a personal favor just by wanting to order. When the food finally arrived, it only got worse. The pho was completely bland and lacked any of the rich, aromatic flavor you'd expect. But the absolute breaking point was finding a long hair floating in my broth. Between the unbelievably rude attitude of the staff, the blatant favoritism in seating, and the gross lack of basic hygiene, this was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. My family and I love coming out here-we actually drove 30 minutes just to eat here. Their food is fresh and delicious to eat-it's worth it! We ordered their pho soup with rare beef and brisket. I ordered the number 17 with the raw meat and brisket and it was honestly so good, but the bowl is huge. I could not even finish it. Pho was pretty good and priced very fair. The broth was not too greasy, perfectly seasoned and had a lot of aromatics. The meatballs and rare beef pho is my go to! The meatballs have little fatty bits in them that makes it extra tasty. Service from the older crowd was very attentive and friendly. The younger staff however can improve.. Second time here and I actually scored parking right in front. Otherwise, parking is not great. The place itself is under a high rise apt. It's modern looking. Tables are flimsy. They do have the TV blasting. There were plenty of seats. I came here the first time based on reviews. My friend is Vietnamese and liked their pho. I gave them 4 stars because she liked the food. I've never had Pho but the soup they make here is amazing! I had the Pho with beef brisket and my boyfriend got the Pho with rare beef and brisket. They have a Vietnamese beer (Saigon) that pairs perfectly with the meal. The staff are very attentive and on top of their service while not being overwhelming during your meal. There are may be a dozen tables at Pho Koi. We waited about 10 minutes before got seated. The service was okay but not great. We waited 15 minutes before someone came by to take our orders. The blind was down on some windows but not the window behind me. I wish they would pull it down. Food here are okay, not outstanding. My first visit, I ordered a dry noodles dish not my favorite, but that's more about me not knowing what I was doing than them doing anything wrong. The flavors were still on point. As a well traveled connoisseur of Vietnamese food, i'd say this place is good but definitely caters to a more...."American" palette. Most of the flavors are very sweet where there's usually an expected "savory" , but nothing was outright bad. For the soup i'd go back for "pho-sure". (3.5 rounded down) Food (7/10) Pho with fatty brisket and the works was pretty solid! As mentioned above, broth was very sweet but the quality of the meat was superb and worth getting. The garnishes were very fresh. As for the second dish tried, the charbroiled meat (beef #35), again was very sweet and lacked that true lemongrass flavor i was hoping for. It was more like sweet jerky. Also they used iceberg lettuce instead of romaine which i'm used to, threw me off as well. Didn't care much for their fish sauce for the dish either. 1 for 2 on dishes i've tried so far. Service (7/10) Went on a saturday afternoon and was met with no wait and a quiet restaurant. Service was average - just not a fan of the layout (read below) Ambiance (7/10) Walking in, you're met with a modern and lovely little restaurant with a beautiful mural on the main wall. Upon seating and actually needing service, you realize the layout is very un optimal. Our small table was against a wall sharing the kitchen, and the server/host desk area is around a corner and behind a plant so they can't really see us. I've been here countless times over the last few years and the food is usually really good.. however.. every time I come here the staff is so unfriendly. I think the last time I came here will be my last time. I work in the service industry and have for almost ten years and I just cannot imagine letting my guests see if I'm annoyed with them or make the guest feel as if I'm inconvenienced by them, and that's how I feel every time I come here. I used to visit more often during their lunch specials, which were always a great deal, and I'm already looking forward to coming back in the colder months to dive into their pho selection. This time, my partner and I tried the vermicelli #34 and #35. Both were flavorful and filling, but I did notice what felt like less meat and more noodles than before. Still tasty, but it left me hungrier a bit sooner than expected. The staff is consistently friendly and the location is convenient, the dining area also makes it enjoyable to eat at, so overall it's a solid spot.
