Entered the restaurant at approximately 8:05 pm for a quick order off the menu as we are return customers and know what we wanted. A leader type person from the podium immediately spoke out in a loud voice, "the dining room is closed" and it was clear employees were making an effort to clean up the area for the evening. However there were still a number of people still seated and clearly had not finished their meals, so not a good look. The restaurant closes at 8:30 pm and we understand the need to close business in a timely manner however the attitude and the "vibe " as only the two of us walked in the door was cold and drove home the feeling our business was not wanted. We did an about face and walked back out the door with at least another 20 min on their "open clock" Not an invitation for my family to return when it is clear even if near closing, our return business is not valued. First the Pho #14 and #19 was very good. We were promptly greeted, seated and brought waters. It was a generous portion and we had left overs for dinner. The Pho really was 4.5 stars but the lack of cleanliness in the men's bathroom was disgustingly awful. Typically, before ordering I check out the bathroom. This time I didn't and used the bathroom just before leaving. The toilet and sink were filthy. The floor was sticky and the grout between tiles appeared to be moldy. I wouldn't let my dog walk on that floor. In between customers the two male servers who could have and should have checked the bathroom were texting or something on their phones. It looked like there has been no effort to clean the bathroom for some time due to the cracked on grime on the floor walls and toilet. Hindsight, I should have taken pictures. My husband and I moved out to Corona (from Garden Grove) back in March and I've been on the hunt for good Vietnamese food because.. well I can't go more than a couple days without Viet food haha The broth here is flavorful and on-point, the shrimp are big and fresh, and their spring rolls are high quality! I was in the area and we were craving pho. The location is very cool, the decor/art was on point. They had the games on, which is a huge plus for me. The staff was friendly, and brought me everything we needed. This place actually has a kid sized pho which is super convenient. Was looking to try a fairly new restaurant and my search ended up at Pho Koi. It's located in the middle of the Metro at Main shopping center. Exit the 91fwy at Main street and head North to East Harrison St go left (West) into the shopping complex and turn right at the round about. Pho Koi is half way in on the right. There are a lot of parking spaces but it's a fairly busy area so it can be a little difficult locating a space close. There is handicap parking very close. At first I thought it was an order and take to your seat however I was immediately greeted and asked if dine in or take out. He informed me that I could sit at any open table. There are a lot of tables and about 3/4 were taken (1:30 Fri). Very pleasant atmosphere and calming ambience. The only loud noise was when a chair, that are made of metal, was moved across the floor it made a very loud scraping sound. The restroom was impeccably clean! Very fresh and sparkling inside! I was immediately brought a menu and a glass of water, perfect! To my surprise they also provided a small basket that had all the utensils and napkins in it. Thought that was very clever, clean and compact! I ordered the Crispy Golden Shrimp appetizer. I received the Shrimp on a very timely manner. The shrimp are medium size with a perfect deep fried coating, not to thin or thick, nice and crispy with a 1000 island type dipping sauce which the sweetness paired nicely with flavor of the shrimp. My main meal was #28 Pho with charbroiled chicken. The Pho's base was perfectly balanced not overpowering or to salty with a good serving of green onion. Very good size plate of chicken thigh meat satisfying the carnivore in me! The chicken's rub was a very unique flavor of curry and other spices, secret recipe per Steve the manager. LOL Placing the chicken in the soup added a unique flavor! It was very tasty. I was surprised having BBQ chicken in ma Pho! LOL Chi tea was awesome not to sweet with a balanced chi flavor! Steve recommends trying a rice dish next time, which is their most popular dish. There is a large selection to choose from. I looked around the room and saw a lot of rice dishes. I talked with 3 gentleman at the table next to me who all had rice dishes and they loved them all. They had the spring roll which also looked tasty. They said it was to hot outside for Pho but I had sucked it up and had ma Pho! LOL All the staff were very friendly and pleasant checking on me to see if I needed anything and if everything tasted to my liking. With all the price increases in the restaurant business I think Pho Koi has done an awesome job keeping their prices reasonable and no gouging. First time here and we both had pho, #21. Having eaten pho for my whole life, I wasn't disappointed. The broth was really tasty. All the meat: rare beef, brisket, tripe are essential the same everywhere but the broth is what makes (or breaks) a bowl of pho. The service was excellent and quick. Corona's Pho Koi is one of a chain of Vietnamese restaurants that have gained ground recently in our area. It took me a couple of years since this one opened, to even give them a chance, as I am admittedly a "chain" bigot. But I finally took notice the other day as the 5-star reviews continued to pile up, and the mouthwatering pictures tortured my curiosity. Throw in some cold, rainy day weather, and it was obvious it was time to visit. Located in a newly developed part of North Corona, it is conveniently right off the 91 freeway. This rather small restaurant is nestled in a compound of new apartments and other small, mostly franchised, businesses on the lower level and has a nice feeling, quite contemporary, clean, and airy. There is limited parking right outside, and also a multi-level, free parking structure steps away. And the atmosphere is friendly. I have enjoyed eating Vietnamese food for decades, so I already know what I like and expect from this kind of cuisine. Their menu is large and offers mostly pho, egg or rice noodles, and rice dishes, and at very fair pricing. Protein choices include beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and tofu. There is also a child's menu. The charbroiled pork and rice dish passed with flying colors. It was mind-boggling to see such generous portions, but the more important criterion was the taste. The charred pork was outstanding. The fact that I could get two, amazing pork-veggie-filled eggrolls with my meal, and that I could share and still bring some home, was the final selling point. I was happy. Mr.B ordered the Shaken Beef with Udon. While he liked it, and the beef was nicely tender, it was a more soupy version of the dish. He admitted he would not choose that again. We have been married far too long to ignore the signs of "pain and envy". I saw his eyes drift to my side of the table, and I got the subtle (?) message loud and clear. I accepted I was doomed to enjoy only one of my two eggroll. So my words of wisdom to those who read this is, choose wisely, and make sure there are plenty of eggroll to go around. And he had no trouble gobbling down a nice bite of my charbroiled pork either. A large container of unassembled pho with rare beef somehow followed us home. Lol. Frankly, I planned ahead because we Californians don't deal well with roads spattered by rain, and the weather forecast was evil. I love pho and have had many bowls of pho in my lifetime. When I saw this place off of Main I knew I'd be stopping in to try it. I ordered a small bowl of the combination pho and a small side of crispy egg rolls. They provided all the usual pho fix-ins. For the roll fix-ins, they didn't provide enough lettuce to wrap both egg rolls (I realize not everyone knows to do that). And instead of cucumber they provided a small lump of vermicelli. The rolls were super yummy, despite their small size. For the pho, it came with a ton of meat and was large despite being the "small", which is all good news. But.. it was just fine. I wasn't wowed by it, but it also curbed my pho appetite. The broth was missing that freshness I enjoy. I added hoisin, siracha, and lime and it was definitely better but I just felt something was missing that would have taken it from good to great. I know it's hard to find good pho in Corona, and this might be the best bowl I've had in town. If you're someone who's only had pho in Corona, you might really enjoy this spot. As for the service, they were speedy! I was expecting more friendliness or customer service by perhaps checking in about the menu but everyone was just matter of fact. I think that pho or Vietnamese food is outside of many people's comfort zone in Corona, so just that touch of "have you been here before?" would definitely help the menu feel more accessible to a first timer. To end on some more positives, I really like the ambiance of this place. Love all the natural light and that they manage the sunlight. It's simple and elegant. I would also like to take a minute to appreciate Pho Koi for being a rare place that does not hassle me for ordering off the kids' menu. If I could give an actual point based rating this Phở place would get a 3.8. The food is decent. Prices are decent. We have been here twice. The meat today tasted a little strange. This is honestly the first time I've been to a Phở place and didn't really want to finish. Any rice dishes in my opinion were ok too. The rice from the shaken beef I got last time was ok.
