If you're looking for a great bowl of pho this is definitely the spot in town. It's a smaller restaurant tucked away in Norco off of hidden valley and Hamner that serving up some of the best pho I've had in town. The broth felt like a warm hug from how fresh and delicious it was. Their fried tofu and sweet & sour sauce was a great appetizer along with their egg rolls & spring rolls. Everything was prepared fresh & customer service was great. The kids loved the Halloween decor they had up. Parking is a little limited due to the high volume of other places in the area but we had no trouble finding a spot. They also offer Cajun style seafood we didn't try but the pho was PHOnominal. As a vegetarian, I truly enjoyed eating here. First of all, the menu has a leaf symbol next to the vegetarian dishes which made it easy to scan through the vast number of items on offer. Secondly, it tasted really good. I ordered the vegetarian rice noodles. My only regret is that I didn't tell them I wanted the big flat noodles, so they defaulted to the skinny spaghetti-like ones. Now I know that even if they don't ask, tell them what I'd prefer anyway. Lastly, the portions are big enough to bring leftovers home which is a big deal for me since eating out can be expensive. If I'm paying that much, being able to get a second meal out of it is much appreciated. Parking wasn't an issue. I immediately found one right in front of the restaurant. As for the restaurant itself, it's modern and clean. Beware that if you end up sitting facing the windows like I did, I was blinded by the sun shining off a car window, so I had to scoot all the way inside the booth. It's because the door is made of glass and unlike the other windows it doesn't have signs to block glare. When I was about to leave, I told them there was no more toilet paper in the restroom and they went out of their way to stop what they were doing to get more for me. Apparently, the cabinet inside the restroom was empty, so one of the employees had to call another employee for help and they found more in another cabinet outside the restroom. This cozy little place is right across from the golden arches it's easy to miss at night as their sign isn't lit up. I came in a little later in the evening so I was able to be seated quickly and order taken. Ordered the special (Dac Biet) pho bowl and it only comes in a large size. I always try the broth first before doctoring it up and it was really good clean tasting broth. You do get a lot of different cuts off the beef in this bowl, I want to say it's a good ratio between meat and the rice noodles. Price is comparable for this special bowl. I enjoyed the food here so much! As soon as I entered the restaurant I regretted not just eating my food here but unfortunately someone at home was waiting for theirs. The staff was very friendly and they gave me some recommendations as it was my first time. When it's colder I'll have to try their Pho but for now I tried their BBQ short ribs and their spicy chicken plate which came with rice. I loved both dishes! I could tell the ingredients were fresh and they both dishes were flavorful. I do feel like they could've given a little more meat compared to the rice but maybe that's a takeout thing? If you have a large party I would probably call in advance because the space is limited and it was PACKED when I got there. Very disappointed yet again. Got my wife pho noodle soup bc she was feeling sick. She likes all the accompaniments (lime, basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños) with it like everyone else and this is literally the fourth time where ive ordered take out and they didn't include it in my order. I don't understand why it's so hard to include this with my pho order. And the resolution each time from DoorDash is to offer 3 bucks off. I don't car about the 3 bucks. I want my complete order. I still at the end don't have what I need. You guys need to come up with a better system to check the accuracy. When you and your partner aren't sure what to eat, always opt for a Pho spot! Noticeably, the weather has started cooling down as fall is approaching. While it's not quite the weather for soup, I was totally craving a bowl of Pho, while my boyfriend was more interested in getting some sort of plate. We ended up checking out Pho Rex in Norco and it did not disappoint. We started off with spring rolls and then we got a filet mignon pho (not pictured), and a spicy chicken plate. We switched back and forth on the pho and the plate and it was just the perfect portion and solved both of our cravings. I loved the heat on the chicken, it had a great amount of spice! A gem in Corona! Had an amazing experience today at Pho Rex. After one of our favorite pho restaurants were closed today, we were eager to try a new spot to deem our favorite! Luckily, Pho Rex was located conveniently off the 15 freeway and we decided to give it a go after seeing all the great reviews! I am so happy we did. The staff were so welcoming and friendly off the bat, and they always served with a smile. We were greeted by four different staff members, all who were so kind and we truly felt that the service exceeded all expectations. On top of this, the food was beyond what we expected! My husband and I ordered two of the Signature #1 Pho soups and the Grilled Pork Rolls to start. Every dish exploded with flavor and was packed with so many meats and veggies. For the price, it was more food we could ask for or even fit in our stomachs! We ended up deciding to get two Thai teas with boba to-go, as well, seeing that the savory and spicy soup needed something sweet to finish it off. The initial purpose for my stop here was to see what my Yelp friend, Rose S, was raving about. Pho Rex has been open for at least 2 years, and Mr B and I had yet to try their food. Rose and I had already agreed that the noodle dish (Pho Rex's #22) is a delightful, clean tasting Vietnamese meal, but cold, rainy weather had me focused on pho instead. I have to apologize to Rose for allowing my cravings to influence my choices for my first time around. Rose, you will eventually get a critique from me of their #22. So, fun intended, it was not hard to convince myself this was the perfect day to do a Pho taste challenge. We stuck with rare beef pho. Mind you, there are several more Vietnamese restaurants in town, but we made three stops today using two other places I already knew were winners. One to Pho Amore in Norco, then here, Pho Rex, on the border of Corona and Norco, and thirdly at Pho 36 in Corona. We ordered pho, all three to-go, then hustled home to do a side-by side taste test. First of all, Pho Rex has a wonderful ambiance. It's clean, friendly, nice decor, in a small setting. The mood was set with calming, soft meditation piano music. It was quite spa-like. Very relaxing. While waiting for our Pho to-go order, we chose to order an appetizer to eat there. Their egg rolls came out quickly and were filled with a tasty ground pork and minced vegetable filling. They were delicious, freshly fried, and served with whole lettuce leaves, mint leaves, shredded carrot, dikon radish, and cilantro. My only observation was that they were slightly smaller than some we had earlier that day from Pho Amore, in Norco, but not smaller by much. In their defense, they were also priced lower, so definitely not much of a deal breaker. I first sipped each broth before adding any meat or vegetables. In truth, the Pho Rex was the mildest, most neutral broth of the three. But that doesn't mean it was not good. I would recommend it, regardless, mostly because once you add the remainder of the ingredients, the differences seemed slight. But in comparison, Pho 36's broth had a definite star anise flavor that was delightful, and Pho Amore was somewhere in-between, a rich, herbal bone broth and darn good. All three places provided the same traditional additions, including thin rice noodles, onion, cilantro, fresh basil, jalapeños, and raw bean sprouts. All the additions were carefully bundled separately, to be personally assembled when you are ready. In all three cases, the beef steak was very thinly sliced, tender, and easily seared with the super hot broth. The large serving sizes included about 4.5 oz of steak and a quart of broth, comparable for all three. Frankly, there really were no losers. Pho Amore (Norco) was slightly more expensive than the other two, but I believe the steak meat was filet mignon so slightly more tender. To the above order, I added item #56, a pan fried rice noodle dish with shrimp, beef, and chicken, and a medley of vegetables in a delicate gravy. The rice noodle was prepared as little triangular, chewy wedges that had a seared surface. It was good. I appreciated that the gravy was not overly starchy and thick. I was impressed with the gracious service we were given as we were waiting for our to-go order and were nibbling on our egg rolls. One of the staff offered us some water, then surprised us with a cupful of steaming hot water with a slice of lime. Very thoughtful for a chilly, rainy day. Since fresh mint was included with the egg roll assembly, I dropped a couple of leaves in the hot water. A nice touch. I have no hesitation about returning but I have a boatload of pho to finish for now. I still have a mission to complete. That is, to make sure that #22 gets a fair shake. read more
