Amazing sushi rolls (loved the purple rice). Very fresh, and made right in front of you at the sushi bar. Service was A+, and the venue was cozy & quaint! Definitely will be back!

Crazy Brothers has the most delicious food in town hands down!! They make everything with purple rice which is supposed to be healthier than white rice!! I love you Chef Peter!! Very family friendly.

Great quaint spot for sushi. Service is super friendly. Food is so good. Been coming here for a while, don't know why I've never reviewed... trying to get in the habit of sharing more. We have our favorites that we always order and every time we try a new roll... this time it was the cajun tuna delight. It was not spicy but full of flavor. The purple rice is also great! Thank you Peter for taking care of our sushi craving!

Greeted with a smile and apologized for the delay on bowls. Sushi came out relatively fast. Purple signature rice made from white and black rice together was unique and tasty. I ordered the rolls with spicy tuna instead of imitation crab and it was legit. Quality was excellent. Not a big place nor was it tiny either. Clean, attentive atmosphere. I would try it again.

I had to get my nails done and wanted to try the sushi at this location. Needless to say, this is my NEW favorite sushi local spot !!!!!! The service was excellent. The lady taking my order was super sweet and made sure that my green tea had some honey alongside it. The rice they use for the California roll is really good. I had also gotten the cucumber maki roll and Alaskan roll. I was not at all disappointed. The ambiance of the place was also nice, and the size of the place was surprisingly bigger than what I thought. Without a doubt, I'll be back here @!!!

Love this place! It's a quaint little sushi spot. All of the staff are very sweet and attentive. Their fish is great quality and always super fresh. One of the unique things about this place is that they use purple rice in their rolls. I also love that they don't pack their rolls with a ton of rice. I never leave here disappointed!

Ask the Community - Crazy Brothers Sushi

Do they have any happy hours?

    Sadly not!

Do they offer regular sushi rice?

I know that I can get a side of it. They serve rolls made with or without rice. Pretty cool if you are watching carbs.

How are the rice portions? A lot, moderate, or a little?

Do they have brown rice as an option?

I didn't see any, I would call them and ask.

Do they offer all u can eat?

No they don't, but it's delicious

Yoshioishi Sushi & Ramen had solid reviews, so we decided to pivot and give it a try. First impression: the menu is extensive. It's one of those places where you almost don't know where to start. The fan favorites are marked with a red flower, which helped narrow things down. We also asked our server for suggestions, which made it easier to navigate. We arrived just before 5pm and there was only one other table. We were told to sit anywhere we'd like. By the time we left, the restaurant was filling up and it seemed like there were quite a few regulars coming in. Here's what we tried: Salted edamame: Just average. A bit limp and not as crisp as I'm used to, so they didn't feel especially fresh. Gyoza: Really nice flavor and the dipping sauce was well balanced. These were solid. Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi: This was different in a good way. It had cilantro and a slightly sweeter sauce instead of the traditional garlic ponzu. Unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. Crispy chicken karaage: Slightly over fried but still flavorful. The dipping sauce helped. Crispy rice with spicy tuna: Just okay. One piece barely had tuna on top. Not bad, but not something I'd reorder. Cucumber salad: Served on a bed of iceberg lettuce, which surprised us, but the dressing had great flavor. This disappeared quickly. Nigiri: The salmon was incredibly fresh and one of the highlights. The albacore and toro came topped with fresh wasabi, which was a nice touch. We really enjoyed the salmon and albacore. The toro didn't quite melt in your mouth like we hoped. It was a bit chewy. Crazy Salmon Roll: Good flavor, but note that the salmon on the outside is fully cooked. We expected raw, so just something to keep in mind. Snow Mountain Roll: A fan favorite at the table. Great texture and flavor. Plain udon and plain ramen: Both were excellent. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the portions were generous. We definitely over ordered, but we left very full. One small detail for fellow tea lovers: I always look forward to hot tea at a Japanese restaurant, especially when it's served in a small pot you can refill at the table. Here it was hot water with a tea bag in a metal cup, which was too hot to comfortably hold, and there was no teapot provided. Not a deal breaker, but next time I'd probably skip the tea. Service was strong. In addition to our main server, two other team members checked in and refilled water regularly, which we appreciated. Overall, I'd call it a 3.5 if that were an option, so I'm landing at 3 stars. The food was decent, the atmosphere comfortable, and the service attentive. It didn't completely wow us, but we're glad we tried it.

My family (me, my wife and my son) are so saddened to find out that Rakki Sushi ended up closing…read morewhen we wanted to go a few months ago. Rakki Sushi had the best ratio of fish to rice. We stumbled upon Rakki when we first moved to Chino Hills in 2023, and took a break from coming when our son was in the oven. It was definitely our go to Sushi spot when we had the energy to make it out there. We loved the various choices of nigiri, sushi rolls and even the appetizers. Shortly before they closed, the owner even gave us a complimentary yellowtail collar which was absolutely delicious, amazingly flavorful and super juicy (we never ordered this previously, since we always went with the AYCE option). The AYCE was very reasonably priced for what you got, and could be considered on the very cheap end, for quality of the food you got and options available. Rakki Sushi got high praises from our foodie friends who would visit us as well. The chef and staff were always super nice, they always came to check on how we were doing when they weren't too overwhelmed with the busyness, and we loved how super friendly they were. Our son loved the staff as well, and he always gave them smiles back in response to theirs. The ambience was more of a local/casual sushi spot, rather than somewhere fancy, which my wife and I greatly enjoyed since we like dressing comfortably in just t-shirts and joggers. The tables, seats, and utensils were always clean when we went there. The men's restroom wasn't the cleanest looking, but given the location it was understandable. Plus, we were there for the food, and not really to strictly use the restroom. We greatly miss you Rakki Sushi and hope you are able to come back one day!

I read some of the reviews that this is one of the best AYCE sushi places and I've been wanting to…read moretry it. The place didn't look like much from the outside -- a little run down in an older strip mall. But you can't judge a restaurant from the facade. I wouldn't say it's the best sushi I've ever had -- it's not. But for an AYCE place -- wow, it's pretty good. My previous favorite place was tomikawa in Irvine, but this place might be better. All the sushi we had was pretty fresh. And the other stuff we had such as jalapeno poppers and gyoza were very flavorful and tasty. The baked scallop could have been a little less runny, but the flavor was very good. The pieces of sushi are all very small -- I provide a picture with my index finger for perspective. Since the place is AYCE, this isn't a diss... Just something you should know. So if you think you want 4 large pieces of sushi, you might order 6 or even 8 here. In a way, I actually liked the smaller pieces, as they're easier to pop in your mouth and chew, and you can easily order a lot of different kinds to try without worrying that you can't finish all of them. The only thing missing is udon or ramen. I like to finish off a meal with a little warm noodles, and that's a notable miss. I'm not sure it's totally worth a deliberate trip from Irvine ... But we're definitely going to stop by any time we're in the area.

They have an impressive menu, very diverse. I like that you can order either large sushi rolls, or the smaller, Happy Hour, 5 pc. size so you can try more and not hate yourself as much when you waddle out the door. The rolls are beautifully made, made with very fresh ingredients, the ratio of rice to filling is perfect (i.e. not too much rice), and the rice is nicely flavored. Their tempura has great flavor, the poke salad is outstanding, the miso soup is rich, not watered down, but the biggest "prize" IMHO is the fish collar (kama), either salmon or hamachi. Here is where you separate the men from the boys. They do not sell old kama that has come from a food supplier's bag, frozen. They only use fresh, the same quality as their sushi, because it comes from the same whole fish they have selected to filet for sushi. Taste it and you know you have hit the jackpot. Before they broil it, they simply slather Japanese mayo on it and salt & pepper. There is something about the mayo that makes it sing a whole new tune. The kama is moist, tender, and comes with their tasty, house ponzu sauce. It's a real treat. Bonus points for being very reasonably priced relative to other sushi houses and they tend to be larger as well. To take advantage of the Happy Hour menu, it is available every day of the week. Monday through Thursday until 7pm, Friday through Sunday until 5 pm. It's an abbreviated menu but has great choices, fairly priced. Their service is tops, seating is limited (probably not more than 40), the interior is warm and quaint, and parking is no problem. And don't forget to respond to their friendly farewell with a duplicate, heartfelt "See you tomorrow" as you leave! Enjoy!
