Restaurant has a huge parking lot and the decor / ambiance is very welcoming & super clean in addition to the staff being attentive and amazing! Pho - Broth was savory and flavorful and lots of meats only one missing was beef balls ... but overall really good . Perfect amount of broth and noodles and proteins . Egg rolls - were fresh and got crispy and crunchy and a lot of filling it was delicious wrapped in the lettuce and herbs and sweet fish sauce . Spring rolls- was decent ... still good but wouldn't order it again . Overall - it was pretty good and quite authentic. Good food quality and affordable . The chicken pho is clear and well balanced with tender thighs and breast meat. Overall a beautiful restaurant in the El Cerrito area of Corona close to hospital and freeway and Walmart Supercenter too. A truly amazing location at the center of everything here. Pho 36 has become another one of our regular lunch spots during the week. Is this the best pho I've ever had? No... but it's good and reliable, especially for Corona. I love how many options they have on their menu and the service is consistently good. There are always tons of tables and overall, I haven't had any issues. I usually order the pho combo or pho ga (chicken with rice noodles). Their pho ga definitely doesn't compare to spots in the OC or 626, but their broth is tasty and they give all dark meat, which is more than what most pho places offer. I actually came here about over a month ago but this was my First time here and was introduced to this place by a friend. So they've been there before but it was my first time. After years of passing it by, it was time to see if Pho 36's reviews were reliable. We have loved authentic Vietnamese food ever since it became vogue in the 1970s. I am happy to report, we absolutely enjoyed our meal here. #44 Cha gio- crispy egg roll. Their delicious filling is made of finely minced meat and vegetables, seasoned to perfection. The platter of 4 comes with a huge pile of fresh greens, grated and pickled cucumber/carrots, cucumber, cilantro, and giant spearmint leaves. Traditionally, you take a leaf of lettuce, lay an eggroll in the middle, pile on some of the other veggies and herbs, then wrap it and dip it in their lovely, amber colored sauce that is an exotic mix of salty fish sauce, lemon juice, and sugar. It's addictive. It's sloppy. They know how to make me happy. Demand extra napkins. #32 Com Chien Thep Cam - This is a well seasoned, fried rice dish with a combination of meats (chicken, shrimp, and thinly sliced, sweet Chinese sausage), peas, and carrots. They serve it with a small bowl of their delicious pho broth. It's a meal in itself, but there is plenty to share. #56 Bahn Hoi Thit Nuong- Thinly sliced, bbq pork strips served over a very thin, rice vermicelli. Accompaniments include fresh mint and cilantro sprigs, lettuce, shredded pickled carrot and radish, bean sprouts, cucumber, and roasted peanuts. So good! Wrapping it up using those divine lettuce leaves, just like you did with the egg roll, then dipping it in the sweet/salty sauce is the way they eat it. A Word of Warning. I accidentally ordered #55 charbroiled pork first, rather than #56 bbq pork, not realizing there is a significant difference. The charbroiled version is more like spam. They graciously offered to remake it, no charge. My mistake. Thank you for indulging me. #84 Che 3 Mau - Do try this dessert! Sweet red bean/yellow lentil and green jelly dessert with sweetened coconut milk and shaved ice. This is refreshing and exotic. You will be proud of your adventurous self for tasting something new and downright delicious. What really impressed me was the abundance of food and reasonable prices, and the greens that were all so crisp and fresh. The flavors in each dish we tried were amazing, and the menu offers a wide selection. The restaurant is spacious, very clean, and the service was excellent. After my experience today, I'm definitely not returning. Upon arrival, was greeted with a passive aggressive attitude by the younger Asian server with camouflage pants and glasses. My sister and I came in for an early dinner and upon ordering felt rushed by the server. The server asked "are you guys ready to order?" To which I proceed to politely order a #1 and she cuts me off and asks my sister what she would like. Not sure if we were interrupting her conversation with someone as we noticed an AirPod in her ear. Simply put, the whole entire time we felt uncomfortable. Food was great! Service was a no. We've been to this place twice and have been assigned the same server both times. Young girl with glasses. She seemed very unhappy the first time we tried this place, but we loved the food so we decided to come back! Then tonight was super disappointing. My husband and I sat down to order and immediately was asked what we wanted... good thing we already knew ! I had ordered the #1 and asked for no tripe because I've had it before and I wasn't fond of the texture, taste was fine though! So I had politely asked her what exactly was tripe, to which she gave an attitude and said it's beef. She then proceeded to say if you don't want it why don't you just give it to him? I said sure no problem... we got our food fast and everything tasted amazing! I even told my husband we might be regulars here despite the service. My husband drinks a lot of water so he was done with his one glass ONE glass mind you pretty early. We had waited for the server to come back to refill for almost 10 minutes. I then just looked over at one of the other servers and pointed to our water cups with a smile. She then told the other server we asked for water while she was talking to another server and they all looked over at us and started laughing and speaking in their language. My family, friends, and I tend to go to this pho shop quite often. It's conveniently close by and they are nice for the most part. They seem to keep up with cleanliness and can be attentive to their guests most times. Other times you do have to be vocal but shouldn't be an issue. The food is good id say a 3.5 out of 5. This time I decided to get the seafood pho and my girlfriend got tofu spring rolls as an appetizer along with her rare steak pho. We enjoyed our meals and although I wasn't able to take a photo we did end up getting a dessert. It was the Ming beans and fruit dessert which was good. I'd give the dessert a 3 out of 5.
