Stopped in before a basketball game at the nearby high school in the summer and we still talk about these drinks. Both drinks, one blended matcha and one caramel frappe both were made perfectly. We stopped by here after lunch, we just checked yelp to see the closest boba place where we at, we got the avocado with boba, watermelon slush, Vietnamese coffee and green matcha macaron. Clean place, I love the anime wall and the furnitures. Avocado tastes like avocado and boba is soft. The staff are friendly, my husband spilled some of the avocado, I think their cups are a little bit soft and the avocado was heavy, they did offer to fix it for my husband but we just asked for a another cup to put it under the first cup to make it more stable. Inside the place is decorated with hand drawn art with different characters from different anime shows as well as some plants. The honey boba is very good. Worst boba I've ever had. I got the easiest drink. Thai tea boba. It did not taste like Thai tea. In fact if I were to close my eyes and drink it I would think I was drinking sugar water. It was so overwhelmingly sweet I went home and split it in two cups added extra ice and milk just to not waste the boba. I even asked them to adjust the sweetness to not add any if possible. My kids got the matcha and the lychee. The lychee was pretty good but the matcha was also so sweet that it stole from the matcha flavor. The shop itself is cute and clean, has a lot of anime decor and a few tables. The girl working the register was ok, she wasn't going to ask about the sweetness adjustment and originally said no they don't do that. Then the girl making drinks said they can. Came here after I tried to hit up my usual spot across the street only to find that they are closed on Sundays. =( Yelp led me and my fellow Yelper buddy to Boba Star, which is located off the Magnolia exit in the city of Corona (no vahhhhhrusss, G!! Lol). Ample parking is available in the plaza. Pricing is pretty average for a boba shop and the employees were friendly. Masks are still required when entering the establishment. We ordered the Spicy Marsala Chai and the Tiger Milk Tea with boba. They were great! My tiger milk tea was pretty sweet so I wouldn't recommend that if you don't have much of a sweet tooth. The boba was perfect, not super chewy or hard! I like how they have colorful walls inside. The anime wall was cool...you don't see THAT everywhere! The opposite wall also had a unique mural on it. I'd definitely recommend this place as they have quite a few drinks to choose from. Now I know where to get my boba fix on a Sunday in Corona!! Work ordered through DoorDash and they mess up the order . One is either missing or they send us the wrong drink. When I called them to let them know who ever answered was RUDE stated that we had to go get the refund or they can make the drink but we had to go pick it up . I let her know know the reason we ordered through DoorDash is because we are all at work and can not leave the office , lady started yelling at me saying she will refund or we go pick it up . I told her again we can not leave work to go pick it up and she stated well come after work idk ... now one of my staff members is left with no drink ... it's not they was to resolve an issue that they created . I love boba and know my boba very well. I'm giving it 3-stars because it wasn't terrible but it was not good. It has good reviews and I love the anime theme happening so I decided to try it. The boba was kind of hard and the tea not very flavorful, granted I got 25% sweetness but I can usually taste the green tea but not here. The strawberry jelly was good but that was not the best drink. Also ensure you check your receipt because I was charged wrong for something I didn't complain because I felt bad it was a new trainer but still worth noting. My family and I tried Boba Star over the weekend and we were excited about a new boba place. My husband's blended caramel coffee drink was amazing! It was really good, I would come back for that one for sure. My iced coffee with boba was REALLY sweet, I didn't even make it halfway through my drink because it was incredibly sweet. The boba in both drinks however was really chewy and hard, it definitely took away from the drinks, but I read in other reviews that it is usually quite good so I will definitely have to try on another day. The staff was friendly although their drinks and drink options were average and similar to other boba shops. The boba tasted and felt like it was fresh, still warm and chewy. The place doesn't feel welcoming at all my experience both times was terrible, treated poorly & was denied for my drink to be made sweeter? Lmao honestly I just don't understand it. Whoever is running this business or is the owner, you are in a business of customer etiquette! Make sure your employees apply this same rule also.
