The pho is less than mediocre. The staff here isn't welcoming and make it out as if they don't appreciate business. The only reason this place is still open is because it's one of the only pho restaurants in all of Humboldt. If you want better noodle soup or Asian cuisine in general go to Annie's Cambodian in Eureka. read more

Food was good and speedy. Prices were pretty reasonable. Would probably not go out of my way to recommend

Not the best, but they're the only Vietnamese food in town. They do make pretty decent boba smoothies.

I have been waiting patiently for about a year to see if things have changed, alas, like a swig of salt water this place a salty and rancid taste in your food service pallet. Over the course of 2 years I have visited this establishment about 6 times a year. however the last three times have been absolutely horrific in food service. Example 1: They have ran out of bubbles for their bubble tea the past four visits in the past 3 months. Dont put banners up for bubble tea if you plan on serving just tea. Example 2: Please dont walk up to my table, place a menu, walk away and make me feel like I owe you something. Say hello, tell me your specials or ask me for my beverage order. Absolutely horrid service. Example 3: do not pick your nose then serve a neighboring table their dinner. I threw up a little in my mouth on that one. Example 4: Service is horrible, did I mention this? though I did not drop serious coin here ,but my family's 300 to 400 dollars a year at your establishment will be spent elsewhere. Bye bye Pho Hoang you were good but unlike wine you aged not so well. read more

Pho Hoang - Seafood pho - Vietnamese Near Me - Arcata, California

This family owned restaurant deserves the clout! I loved the pho and the milk tea! I generally order pho but I recently ordered the yellow curry, I was impressed! The service here is great and the delivery option makes this place more accessible. The broth of the pho was rich and flavorful--I prefer more aromatics in my pho broth but that was my only qualm. They have a variety of delightful flavors for their milk tea, my favorite is the Thai tea! read more

I'm so relieved there's good pho in Humboldt! Coming from LA I'm used to having good pho and I wasn't sure I would continue to enjoy that here but thank goodness for Pho Hoang! The pho broth is very flavorful like it should be as there is nothing worse than bland pho broth. Their spring rolls were amazing, I should have gotten 2 orders! read more

Ordered the tofu pho thru door dash. It came with two small pieces of tofu. I called to ask if that's what normally comes in it and they confirmed. Yes, a little of everything. read more

I have been coming here quite often ever since Spring of 2014. Their chicken fried rice is delicious , especially with the hot sauce. The mango smoothie with boba is good and their coconut shrimp is very sweet and savory. I called a few days in advance to make a reservation for October 1 and the staff did an exceptional job in customer service and making sure they took good care of a group of 30. I give them props for keeping their cool in getting all the food at a timely manner. I can't thank them enough for taking good care of my friends and providing us with exceptional customer service. Thank you, you are all the best. read more

The ambience is casual dining. The pho is good and the spring rolls with shrimp are good to eat except the peanut sauce is not too tasty. I have had better sauce with this type of spring roll. The best part is the taro blended ice boba drink read more

Love this place. Great veggie curry and the best vegetarian fried rice. I would eat here everyday if I could. Great, fast service.

The only thing I can eat here is the curry, because I am gluten free - but it's delicious so that's fine.

Very good service even when they're at their busiest, it's a convenient walk if you live in Arcata as well, their food is yummy!

So my ratings of Pho places came from living in the Bay area and going to a lot of Pho places in San Jose with mostly asian colleagues. Pho is one of the best of asian foods, so I want it to be special. Pho Hoang is average but edible. Of Humboldt restaurants it is close to my favorite. The food actually has flavor and is not overcooked. It is comparable to the average Pho joints in the bay area, something that puts it well above most of the eateries in Humboldt. If you need a quick Pho fix, it is the only place in Humboldt I would reccommend. And they have Thai iced tea prepared properly. read more

There aren't many places for Vietnamese Pho (soup) in Humboldt County but we are lucky to have a good one on G St in Arcata. I usually have the Pho with chicken, but my sister loves the steak version, and I also enjoyed the one with beef meatballs. Wish they had the kind with fried pork belly, but that is wish to build a dream on! lol In addition they have other delicious Vietnamese dishes and some familiar Thai offerings as well as Vietnamese Iced Coffee ( what a treat if you are a coffee lover!) and Thai Iced Tea to top off your dining experience. So glad they're here! When they bring in the pork Pho I'll give them a fifth star! lol read more

The best yellow curry I've had in the U.S.! The vermicelli with grilled beef, pork, and shrimp was excellent! You won't be disappointed with the flavor. We might check out this spot again during our four-day stay! read more

This is my go to when I need some good Vietnamese food. It's hands-down, the best Vietnamese in all of Humboldt oh County (there's 2 places lol). I will get the combo vermicelli with steak, shrimp and pork and my wife always gets the combination pho. Both are very tasty and the next time I go, I will try to get the Vietnamese sandwich. Service is always good. Food is always delivered promptly. read more

We went there opening night and they were seriously unprepared for the crowd that showed up. Everyone was standing around waiting to be seated, but they weren't seating. Not that there were available tables. People seated after us had orders taken and foods brought before we could literally shout for one of the TWO waiters working to take our order. They brought our food to the neighbors table -twice. They brought five plates of food to our neighbors on five different occasions - none of which was for them. On the plus side, all of the food was terrific. Really, really good. If they can add waiters, figure out how to get the right bill to the right table (we got our neighbors) and speed up the service they will do well. read more

the stir fried noodles here is very tasty and the pho with brisket is also good. I wanted a banh mi sandwich but they said they do not have it which is weird to me for a vietnamese place. if they did add banh mi sandwich I would come here all the time! read more

Ordered A2, Fresh Spring Roll to go. $9 + $1 tip. Got to Redwood park to eat and found the rolls to be just shrimp and lettuce (and rather small), NO noodles. I ate one, and went back. They said they changed it. I said that they should have changed the menu. They said there was extra lettuce. I said lettuce is not noodles. So I left, never to return. Gave the remaining 2 rolls to a homeless man along with $20, turning the negative experience into a positive one. I will never go back to this restaurant. read more

Such a great option in town. The pho broth is light and flavorful while the rice noodles are in such a great quantity that it's impossible to leave hungry. The curry is also next level and my girlfriend who doesn't like curry loved it! If you need a comforting warm soup on a rainy day in Arcata Pho Hoang is the place to go! read more

Food is yummy. Service is quick and the staff are nice. When we are craving Vietnamese food we drive to Arcata to eat here versus the Vietnamese restaurant in Eureka as this place is soooooooo much better and cleaner. Prices are reasonable as well read more

We eat there about once a month. Good food, quick service, and boba tea. If you're hungry for Thai food, this place is where to go!

It was fine. I didn't think it was bad or anything but I have been to much better Vietnamese restaurants. I think the only way to describe it is that the yellow curry, chicken vermicelli, and lemongrass chicken spring rolls didn't have enough flavor for my liking. Staff was friendly, attentive and quick. Prices were comparable to the quality of the food. Nice decor, welcoming feel. And looked very clean. read more

I was really excited to find a Vietnamese restaurant passing through town, saw the great reviews, but was disappointed when our meals came out. The tofu vermicelli came with three tiny pieces of tofu, the broccoli and lettuce were wilted. The other veggies also didn't look fresh. The only flavor was from the peanut sauce and I asked for a second side of it so I could eat my noodles. My partners veggie stir fry had a hair in it. Wish we had enjoyed our meals, place is cute and the prices decent. read more

Friendly, quick service, delicious food -- what more could you want? I was hesitant to try pho, as I am with most new food. But my friend talked me into it and I'm so glad he did. The first thing I got was the V5: egg noodle plate with tofu and mixed veggies. Not really knowing what I was doing, I ordered the noodles crispy. I couldn't recommend that more. It's a bit tricky to eat but the crunch is so worth it. The tofu is cooked perfectly: crispy on the outside, well-seasoned, and tender on the inside. And the Thai tea is amazing. The food comes out within minutes. I don't know how they do it, but it's always hot and fresh and consistently good. I've never waited for a table and the servers are always attentive but don't hover. Honestly I don't know why somebody wouldn't like this place. Tip: Instead of waiting for the check, just go up to the register. It's faster and they don't mind a bit. read more

Really good pho! Generous amount of meat, both the tendon and the noodles had a great texture, tasty broth with a depth of flavor. The only thing I could think to ask is different sizes for the soups. It's a BIG bowl that you get, for a good price too! But a smaller bowl would be great to not have to worry about taking home leftovers if you aren't too hungry. :) read more

The food is decent. P7 Pho is in point. The service is college town rude. In a city of young upwardly mobile faux hippies I'm sure one can get jaded, but slamming my food down in the table ain't all that cool. Maybe get a bong in the kitchen or something‍ read more

Great veggie options- I always go for the green curry or veggie pho. One of the few places that has quick turnaround for takeout.

It's a good place if you want quick, no frills service, and good food. Kinda confused about people giving them only 1-2 stars for not getting a full conversation from the waiters, or "passive aggressive slamming of bowls" lol. Great pho and even better curry, all around very decent, average prices in comparison to the area. read more

IF YOU'RE VIETNAMESE, DON'T EAT HERE. I wish the Yelp reviews had warned me how bad the food is at this place before coming in and wasting $50 on food that taste absolutely nothing like authentic Vietnamese Pho. As a Vietnamese American from the Bay Area, I enjoy a bowl of Pho at least once a week. There's certain standards and flavors that we come to expect. Today, we made a long trip to Eureka. Our favorite ramen shop on G St. was closed, so we settled for this place. We ordered Chicken Pho, Beef Pho and Bun Bo Hue (spicy Hue style noodles). The food we got did not taste like Pho or Bun Bo at all. First, the Bun Bo did not have the right type of noodle. It was more like a bowl of Beef Pho with spicy seasoning. My wife couldn't finish it bc it's so bad. I couldn't finish my bowl of Chicken Pho either bc it was full of MSG. The chicken was large chunks of steamed chicken, instead of lean cuts of pulled chicken as it suppose to be. They barely gave us any herbs. The papaya salad was stale and had a strange taste. We were pretty hungry after a long drive, but unable to eat the stuff they gave us. Service was horrible since we were the only Asians in the store, and they probably know we'd disapprove of their food. Now I understand Arcata is far from everything, so it's hard to make good Vietnamese food when u don't have fresh supplies. But the food they gave us couldn't possibly be classified as Vietnamese. To the average Caucasian patron, they probably can't distinguish that this is really bad Viet food. But if you're Viet, please don't come in here for the love of god. You'll be greatly disappointed. read more
