Not Vermicelli noodles. I ordered C3, the one with vermicelli noodles. this is cheap. between the poor taste, failed order, and the terse service, I won't be returning. and lemon instead of lime?? nah thanks

Arcata had a lot to see.

I was very happy with the space and the availability of staff throughout my visit for lunch. I had some spring rolls and stir fry and had enough for another meal. Well done! Highly recommend for freshness of ingredients and temperature of the food at service.

Pad thai

Being a Vietnamese restaurant, I'm surprised they offer pad thai. I should've trusted my intuition to not order pad thai because unfortunately, it's not very good at all. Immediately it tastes drenched in soy sauce which is, believe it or not, NOT an ingredient in traditional pad thai. It also explains why the noodles are unusually dark brown in color rather than a light yellow or orange. It's a little lighter in the picture due to me adding lime juice. It's very salty and not enough sour, so I had to add my own lime juice to offset the saltiness. The meat is also pretty.. disgusting. It has chunks of chicken and dark meat instead of thin strips which is highly unusual for a pad thai dish and it's not good at all. Secondly, I got the tiger milk tea with boba and they completely forgot the boba! 70% of my drink is ice. I didn't realize until I got home. Maybe I'll try the pho next time, but I'd recommend skipping the pad thai completely.

We stopped by today. First time visitors. [It is now in my top 10 restaurants in the county] Clean, friendly, smells good... The staff was fun and smiled easily. Bathroom (men's - my wife said women's too) was clean. Parking is adequate (small town). Ground floor. Easy wheelchair access. We started with the A10 - Vietnamese Style Crispy Chicken Wings. Wings and drumsticks. Wow! Crispy, juicy, flavorful. I think honey based. We got the V1 - Vegetarian Spring Rolls (to go) because we saw another customer with them and she was in bliss. I got a P12 - Eye Round with Fat Brisket. Ended up using a fast straw, the spoon wasn't cutting it. I needed faster. Next time I will get the egg added. Very tasty. The mixture of the meat with the noodles, broth and greens was outstanding. It came with a spring salad with bean stories and lime wedges, jalapeno and basil. I also ordered a Peach Smoothy (24oz). Definitely peachy. Not to thick and very flavorful! My wife got the C4 - Yellow Curry with Chicken. I don't go much for curry, but I had some and may do that one again! Comes with a side of white sticky rice. Her drink was a Mango Flow tea, also 24oz. I also got to go the P56 - Vietnamese Fried Rice with veggies and chicken, and also the P58 - Pad Thai with chicken. Sorry we were eating and didn't get photos except for the half gone chicken and my almost empty bowl. Will I come back? Absolutely!

1.5oz pork, 3shrimp, 1 egg roll completely flavorless sauce

The meals were really expensive with an extra $4.40 service charge for take out. They gave extremely small portions of meat, shrimp and egg roll. The pho broth was bland and had little to no flavor. It was over $40 for 2 meals that were trash.

This is my favorite restaurant in perhaps the entire county. As a Vietnamese person in Humboldt it is hard to find food that reminds me of home and this place does the trick. The food is delicious, very flavorful and refreshing. The building itself is very cozy inside and the staff are always polite. I highly recommend the Pho, Com Tam and Bun Thit Nuong, you won't regret it.

Delicious pho! I got p18 and my partner got p1, both good but i liked mine more we also got a green papaya salad and it was fabulous! They also had fast service!

I called in to order and the receptionist hung up before I could give my name for the order. When I came my drink had boba in it. That's kinda weird because it was a honeydew smoothie but I just accepted it because I was in a rush. There was something diluted about their broth. It lacked flavors and spices, but I wonder if it's because the demographic here can only tolerate a certain flavor? I do not wish to be judgy about that, but I have half Indian so for me it was lacking and I feel bad to say it, but the average pho restaurant in San Diego has better broth than this place. My mom had a veggie broth and my sister and I both got beef types of pho. My meatballs were small and easy to eat which is nice because I still have braces on. They were busy in store and with pickup orders so I know they're doing good with business. They did make sure I had chopsticks, lime, sriracha and hoisin, so the customer service is not bad. They do care! I'm going someday they are able to see my review and not be shy of tapping into their true authentic flavors. I love Vietnamese food and it would be a shame for them to tone it down just for less ethnic/ cultured people to consume it. Wish you guys the best. I did pay apple pay.

Ok, here we go. Straight from my heart to you I used only the good words, but I used them all…read more Four stars, four and a half if they'd let me, five in my heart. Some restaurants win you over with flawless execution. Others become part of your life, quirks and all. Pho Tien Long, oh honey, this place has practically become family. I spent a year working in Los Angeles as a traveling medical professional, surrounded by Vietnamese restaurants. I ate my way through plenty of them, and you know what I discovered? Not one could outshine my beloved little Pho Tien Long in Eureka. Match them? Absolutely. Surpass them? Not in my experience. There's something about the food that feels personal, like somebody who knows me is cooking dinner. It's familiar, comforting, and made with what I can only describe as love. Is every dish perfect every time? Lord, no. The Pad Thai occasionally misses the mark. The pineapple fried rice can go from spectacular to merely decent with the slightest variation. And if cilantro tastes like soap to you, speak up before ordering, because these folks are enthusiastic about their cilantro. But their Vietnamese noodle bowls, consistently wonderful. Cool noodles, fresh vegetables, your choice of meats or egg rolls, and that glorious sweet-savory sauce you pour over everything. It's the kind of meal that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. Their portions are gargantuan. Come hungry. And can we discuss the spring rolls? No mint, hallelujah. I cannot adequately express how much I appreciate a spring roll that doesn't taste like somebody stuffed a toothpaste garden into it. Their Thai iced tea? Absolutely on fleek. In fact, I've occasionally wandered in around nine in the morning, well before their usual opening time, because I was craving one. If the door happens to be unlocked, they'll sell me my tea without making a production of it. That's my kind of establishment. Now, the parking lot. Oh, sweet baby Jesus, the parking lot: approximately 12 spaces of automotive gymnastics, surrounded by bushes apparently determined to consume your vehicle. Getting in requires precision, getting out requires prayer, and the nearby alley features potholes large enough to qualify as geological formations. Did I mention the confusing one-way situation? Good luck, darling. May the odds be ever in your favor. And yet I love that ridiculous parking lot. I love the inconvenience. I love the whole gloriously imperfect experience, because somewhere along the way Pho Tien Long stopped being just a restaurant. I remember returning after they'd unexpectedly closed for two weeks. Naturally, we demanded to know where they'd disappeared to. The gentleman cheerfully explained that they'd made so much money from customers like us that they needed to go into the mountains and bury it. I laughed and laughed. And recently, I've watched a young boy helping around the restaurant, bringing water and learning the business. That one gets me right in the heart. I grew up in my grandparents' businesses. At five years old, I was counting change, translating conversations, and helping negotiate transactions between adults. Watching another child learn those same lessons reminds me of where I came from. There's something deeply familiar about a family business where everyone contributes and the next generation learns by doing. Maybe that's part of why this place feels like home. I doubt the people at Pho Tien Long could pick me out of a crowd, despite my rather distinctive appearance, but I know them in that peculiar way you come to know the people who quietly become part of your routine. And I adore them. So why four stars instead of five? Because I'm reviewing the restaurant, not writing a love letter. The occasional inconsistency deserves acknowledgment, even if I've grown ridiculously fond of the imperfections. But understand something: every complaint I've made comes wrapped in affection. The parking lot, the potholes, the cilantro, the unpredictable pineapple rice, all of it. This restaurant has character, generous portions, wonderful food, and a place in my heart that a hundred polished restaurants couldn't buy. And now, a word to my fellow Humboldt County residents. If Pho Tien Long ever closes because you people didn't support it, I will hold every last one of you personally responsible. I'm not kidding. Well, mostly. Four stars on Google. Four and a half for the food. Five stars for the place this family has earned in my heart. Now go eat there. Just be careful backing out of the parking lot

The food was fantastic. None too oily, nor too saturated with complex flavor profiles. A consistent experience throughout; however, this place shines when it comes to an unexpected item. Their coffee. I walked in once and ordered just a coffee. No sifting through a tiny menu booklet, peering over ridiculous coffee names, and no micromanaging ingredients. I simply requested a coffee and they gave me what is the greatest cup of joe in my entire life. It reminds one of espresso, a kind of dark roasted and chocolate-y flavor, but it is palatable and pleasant. No bitterness at all, but it doesn't sacrifice its richness in getting rid of the bitterness. If nothing else, go to this place for their coffee! Purely and simply a divine brew.

I pulled up, and the lady comes out to talk to me, she asked me if I had been there before and I said I didn't. She said take a look at the menu, and I will come back to you. It turns out she was going back-and-forth between being the cashier, and taking orders. If they had a box, it wasn't working. I decided to go with the pulled pork sandwich on a baguette, I chose all of the veggies, with no cheese or avocado, which was extra price. I requested the barbecue sauce, which was the non-spicy version. The sandwich was excellent. The baguette was a very high-quality roll, the pulled pork was savory, and all of the veggies were nice and crisp. The barbecue sauce tasted like it was a vinegar based, and it had a great "Tang" to it. It provided a nice pop of acid to offset the richness of the pulled pork. I could only finish half of my sandwich, and I had the other half for dinner. The sandwich came out to $14 and change after tax, , which was reasonable for such a good sandwich. The reason I'm taking off a star, is because of the wait time. The wait time from when I pulled up till when I pulled out with my sandwich was roughly 15 minutes. That's quite a wait for a sandwich. You can order ahead online, but you still have to wait in the line to pick up your food. They do delivery, but they only do one delivery run a day at 11 AM, and so you have to get your order in on time. They shouldn't have the person running back-and-forth between being cashier, and taking orders as well. Maybe have another person taking orders. Hopefully the next time I come back, the wait won't be so long. I wish these guys would get a "brick-and-mortar." They would do very well. Thank you!

The shrimp was so tender, I usually never eat the tail but it was so soft we just ate the whole thing, and both sauces were delicious! The Pad Thai were also just as delicious!
