I love to try out anything Vietnamese so when I saw this place we had to go. They were closing at 830pm and we arrived at 8, they didn't usher us out or tell us they were closing. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered their beef satay spicy soup and we shared green onion cakes and veggie spring rolls. My friend had the beef vermicelli bowl. Loved the beef satay soup!! Cannot say enough about how delicious it was. Green onion cakes also a massive hit. The spring rolls weren't our thing. Also really great presentation on their food. Weak broth, lacking depth of flavour and isn't piping hot. Brisket is in chunks rather than slices. Amount of meat and noodle volume is consistent with industry standard. Brought ice waters to the table and didn't offer free tea which leads me to believe that they would have charged us if we asked for it. Two large soups and 1/2 order of green onion cakes came to $40 before tip which is kinda pricey for pho but inflation rises all costs. Service was above average for Vietnamese restaurant. We were looking for a restaurant that opened later and this restaurant fit the bill by closing at 8:30 pm instead of the usual 8 pm most Vietnamese restaurants closed. We made reservations, but there was no need as the restaurant was not busy at 7 pm on a weekday. We were seated right away. Our server was good at checking in on us, taking orders and clearing dirty plates. I ordered the pho dac biet which included all the different beef cuts. The broth lacked depth that I enjoyed in a good broth. I needed to add more hot sauce to make the broth tastier. The noodles had a good chew and there was a decent amount. The different beef cuts were good. I found the vermicelli bowls to be more enticing. The skewers in my brother's bowl looked amazing for the portion size. I would order a vermicelli bowl next time if I am at this restaurant. I took a sip of the iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk and it was delicious. Just how I like my iced coffee. Overall, 4 stars because the restaurant opens a bit later and the service was great. If you are looking for a late dine in experience, this is a good Vietnamese option. read more

The reviews made this place look promising, however, as soon we arrived and I noticed just a single table of Vietnamese diners, I knew that this place would disappoint. Service was fairly prompt despite being busy, and they even checked in to see how our meal was going, which is pretty spectacular for an Asian restaurant. Portion size is decent; I was nice and full at the end of my meal. I love fatty beef in my pho, and so I hated the lean meat in mine. The broth was fine; nothing overly spectacular. My mom said the meat in her vermicelli bowl was too tough and "cheap" (meaning the quality wasn't great). My brother declared the same meat too spicy. Price is a bit on the higher side in comparison to other pho joints, which is fine if you're getting quality pho; however, that's not the case here. I wouldn't come back. read more

First time coming here and the food was decent! Hoisin sauce and chilli oil condiments were available to add per taste. The broth was simple and good but it lacked the layers of intricate flavour I'm used to in other pho restaurants. The server was friendly and attentive. It wasn't busy when we first arrived. We ended up here last night almost by accident... we went for Pho at our regular spot a block away and found they were closed on Mondays. As you can literally see this spot from there we decided to give it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised. They have a great menu selection, a lot of options... both soup and rice or noodle dishes. We started with an order of shrimp salad rolls which were fresh and delicious. Heather opted for her go to, beef ball and steak Pho, while I decided to try something a bit different here and went with the Bun Thang Ha Noi... Chicken vermicelli soup with thin sliced egg and Vietnamese pork sausage (also thin sliced). Both of our soups were good. Our old standby around the corner is still our favourite, but this is a great backup option and you won't go wrong giving this a try to quell your Pho cravings! read more

This is a brand new, family run noodle house. It can be a little tricky to find because it is located in a strip mall that has buildings going in all directions. Google maps will get you close. You are welcomed with a smile and shown to your seat. The menu has a nice variety to choose from with most of the traditionally popular types of Pho available. The menu is available online if you would like to browse before you go. I love Pho but I am no expert. My favourite is satay, but I am not sure if that is traditional. Sadly, it is not on this menu. The Bun Bo Hue was just the right level of spicy and delicious. My husband had his "meatball soup" and his was great as well. I have also been able to try the five color vermicelli. It was delicious. The spring roll and the shrimp were done perfectly. The restaurant is nicely decorated and kept very clean. There is lots of free parking available. It is a bit out of my way to get to, but nice enough that I will make the trip to go back for more! read more

Pho Ha & Hoa, previously The Rice Pad, was a nice spot too grab dinner tonight. My family and I came to this spot under previous owners quite a bit when looking for something different for dinner. I didn't expect much going in as we hadn't always had the best experiences with The Rice Pad, but tonight I was impressed. We were greeted promptly when we entered, and once we sat down and got our coats off, the gentleman (who I assume is the owner) brought us a steaming pot of green tea. We were waiting for one more in our party, and they gave us the time we needed without feeling rushed. Having good customer service here was crucial, as it had been lacking in the past. Now onto the food... It was delicious! The green onion cakes we ordered as a starter were so much better than many I have had in the past. They didn't have an overly deep fried taste to them that I've become accustomed to, and they were light and fluffy (and huge!). I ordered the Grilled Beef Vermicelli bowl, my SO ordered the 5-colour vermicelli bowl, and the other two in our party ordered the Grilled Chicken Vermicelli bowl and the Beef Stir Fry over rice. We all seemed to enjoy our meals greatly. It's nice to see that they gave this spot a facelift in more ways than one. I will definitely be coming back again! read more

Nice family owned Vietnamese restaurant and fairly new but the food was completely bland. I had the 5 color vermicelli bowl and the beef, chicken, and pork marinade were all the same lemongrass salty flavor with no sweetness. Makes you drink a lot of water to wash down the salty taste after the first few bites. The fish sauce for the noodle bowl was beyond bland, it was more like just plain water with bit of vinegar and carrots to pour over the noodles. They also missed adding the green onions as garnishing on the vermicelli bowl because every vermicelli bowl needs a touch of green onion on top. And last, the deep fried spring roll was filled with cabbage, carrots, and noodles, where's the meat? It didn't say vegetarian spring roll!!!!!!!!! I had the best dinner here ever with my family we were going to go to the pho place a block down but they were closed on Mondays so we came here I ordered the Bun Bo Hue it had the best spices. My kids ordered Kids A,C,D and my husband ordered the 5 colour vermicelli bowl and we ordered the green onion cakes and spring rolls they had the perfect fry they didn't have a overfry taste. Pho Ha and Hoa. I may not know how to pronounce this place, I call it foe-hah-and-hoewah (emphasis on the hoewah), but I sure know how to describe it: fast, cheap and delicious. Most Vietnamese places are created equal, but this one is my favourite. Order some green onion cakes and a three colour grill combo and you have a very good time. The prices are very reasonable. The service is always friendly and fast. The food tastes fresh and delicious. The green onion cakes are very tasty and great for sharing. You get more than enough food. I really can't complain. I went to this restaurant on Saturday (Jan 28) for supper. It was just the two of us, and we arrived at around 7 pm. It was a terrible experience all around. The restaurant was pretty busy when we stepped in, and I noticed that multiple tables had plates and bowls that weren't cleared. We were seated after some delay. Thinking back, that was only the tip of the ice berg. After we were seated, we perused the menu and had picked out what we'd like to get. We then put down our menus and waited for a staff to take our orders. 15 minutes ticked by before we were able to order...and that was only because the table next to ours (who had arrived before us) managed to flag down who I assumed is the manager to complain about the service (or the lack therefore). We overheard the manager explain to the table next to us that they were "short staffed" and that they were "super busy", and that food would take 20-25 minutes to arrive. We were not offer any drinks while we waited. And when we did get our drinks, it wasn't what we wanted. We asked for water, but received tea. 25 minutes after we placed our order, our two bowls of pho arrived. For those of you wondering, pho noodle soup should not take nearly half an hour to be served after placing the order. The pho wasn't great at all. The soup was lukewarm at best and the noodles weren't cooked completely through (they clumped together and was very tough in some spots). Having hot/boiling soup would have definitely helped in that regard. The meat was okay, comparable to other pho places in the city. As we ate, the table behind us complained to the manager that they were waiting too long for food--tables that were seated after them had received food first. The manager told them about them being "short staffed" and "super busy" and that there was "nothing he can do" in regards to getting the food out faster. They nearly left, but then food came out for them. The table next to us and behind us both got their food comped in the end. We did not tip the restaurant at all; our orders were not taken in a timely fashion, we got no drinks when we waited for a staff to take our orders, and when we did get our drinks, it wasn't what we asked for, and lastly, we waited for nearly half an hour to receive poor quality noodle soup. The customer service was severely lacking. Maybe we should've raised a fuss, and gotten our food comped too. I did see how busy the restaurant was, and I do believe that they were short staffed, but I felt that they should've handled the situation better. Cording off parts of the restaurant (fewer patrons to ease the workload) or being told up front about the wait time and situation would be preferable to just sitting and waiting and receiving poor quality food. This may been an off evening for the restaurant, and I do sincerely hope that they are normally not like this. But it was my first time trying this place, and needless to say, will not be returning, and I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone. I came here two times. Once with a few friends and once with my family. Both times were pretty good experiences. The appetizers that they give are really good. The pork salad rolls use grilled meat rather than just boiled pork belly. The pork spring rolls are loaded with meat and feel really satisfying to bite into. The Pho is over-average. It's a lot better than most places in Edmonton. It just loses out to my mom's cooking ;) The service is also really good. The staff wear really big smiles on their faces and are really on the ball when it comes to checking up on you and refilling water or taking dishes away.
