I was completely proven wrong by Noodlebox and I'm glad I listened to everyone's recommendations to try Thai to go from here. Fantastic price, huge meal, and made speedy fast. Plus, they have a dedicated gluten free ordering system. I was blown away by Noodlebox and I wish I had one close by. I'll be dreaming of my spicy GF Pad Thai for a while. Disappointing all around. First, the "good" -- when I got my take out home, the ginger beef container was still hot. I was concerned needlessly about the temperature of the rice dish. And the spice level was perfect. I picked the second-hottest and that was a great level of heat for me. The "bad" -- all around completely disappointing. I booked my order for 6pm pickup using the App. I showed up 5 min early because I didn't want my order sitting around getting soggy and cold. I was greeted and instructed to wait at a table for them to prepare it. "Perfect" (I thought) as I really wanted it still hot when I got home. The cashier took a phone call for about 3 minutes and when he was done, picked my two spring rolls that had been sitting in the basket of the fryer, put them in a bag, and handed me one of approximately 15 take out containers that were sitting on the counter the entire time. Not impressed. So I get home and try it and it is awful. I mean bad. There was a bitter, burned, acrid flavour throughout the entire dish. Very off-putting. As I mentioned, the level of heat was good, but ginger beef usually has a sweetness to accompany the heat. This did not. At all. To cover up the burned flavour and bring up the sweetness, I added some sweet chili Thai sauce from my refrigerator. It helped, a bit. And the whole thing was soggy. Usually there's a crispiness to ginger beef, this had none. The texture was just completely missing, I could barely tell the scant beef chunks I received from the rice --the whole thing was mush. I had way, way better Ginger Beef, albeit less spicy, from the deli counter at Save-On Foods in the same mall. All in all a terrible experience, not worth the time and fuel spent to go pick it up. Will not be returning. Do not recommend at all. I thought Ginger Beef was not a difficult dish to get right. But you've proved me wrong. Awful. 0 stars if I could give that. At least if I was eating in-store, I could have sent it back. But with a 15 minute drive there and another 15 minutes back, plus whatever time trying to sort it out in the store and waiting for them to remake it... not worth it for $20. Last night we stopped and ordered very specifically a gluten free, nut free dish based on the recommendation of staff. After 6 hours emergency with our daughter we found out that they put peanut sauce on her dish. My wife was very specific - something gluten free and nut free. The manager reinforced this request and also marked the dish "no peanuts" on the box. We assumed all was good. When we went back to the restaurant to tell them that the dish we made my daughter have an anaphylactic reaction the manager indicated he would make us another dish. No offer of a refund. I asked later with a follow up call that he pay for the cleaning off my car with vomit throughout. Barely an apology was given While we acknowledge some risk of contamination when going to facilities like this we did not expect to get a peanut dish and for the manager to take no accountability. The dismissiveness is the most frustrating. We hope this never happens again to anyone else. I do not recommend this restaurant and it is highly unlikely we ever eat at this franchise again! read more

Ordered the pad Thai and it was brutal! I was so disappointed. First, the noodles were so sticky and chunky. Second, the 4 tiny cubes of tofu was comical. Third, the vegetables were almost non existent. See photos. Instead there were shavings of what I think was Broccoli stem and a white core of some sort. The pictures advertised could not be further from reality. Lastly, there was no sauce... I mean no sauce! There was no flavor at all. Pad Thai is amazing and this was a sad sad sad imitation. My partner pulled a hair from his meal to top off the experience. Highly recommend choosing another place to eat! Please save yourself the disappointment, money and time! Absolutely my favorite place in Sherwood park for noodles lately. Today I have the Black bean and garlic with chow mein and medium spiciness, chicken protein. It was amazing.The new owner is lovely, she reached out to me when I was struggling with food insecurity on Facebook and was kind enough to give me a gift card on top of that. I've tried 6 of their dishes, the Honey Garlic Chicken was my favorite. The medium hot spicy level is pretty darn spicy and I've even had ghost Pepper and Carolina reaper jerky and sauce before. The vegetables are fresh as heck, and I haven't had any issues. If anything I think the place should be more busy, I can't stress enough how much I prefer it over Oodle Noodle, Panda Express, Pad Thai/Chinese restaurants we have. I even prefer it to Wok Box. I had bad experiences with this place during COVID years but they were apparently a previous owner who was struggling. I have dined here on many occasions now,.Nice place. Trendy. Fresh. Flavorfull. Filling. I have sampled most of their noodle dishes, several sides, and some of the daily specials. Food looked great. Fresh. Flavourfull. Pretty damn good. I am always surprised how full I get. Doesn't happen this fast often. I feel they should have half order sizes...but they don't appear to. Sadly, my biggest point of contention of late is their inconsistant application of their spice. I always stick with a mere 1 on their scale. Several time now I have gotten home woth my take-out only to find that the dishes are hot enough to set my tastebuds ablaze. Given the range of spice they offer...the really so need to be carefull. It gets damn hot. Had I been dining in on these occassions...they certainly would have beem remaking my meals. Regardless...I'll be back. It is indeed quite good. read more

I love this place, the first thing you notice as you walk in the door is the super friendly staff and the nice decor. I love that you can order your food with different spice levels. The staff were very friendly and informed us how the menu worked and that some of the ingredients are locally sourced! The teriyaki bowl was flavourful with lots of noodles. We had 4 item from the menu. Pad thaï, coconut curry, kung pao and spicy peanuts. Every thing was great and the portion were very good and super filling even without any protein. Let's just say we're VERY far away from your local Thai express chain. You know when you find money in your pocket that has been there for a long time, like a 50 dollar bill. That's how it felt finding this place. It's been open for two years now. This place is a Gem. From the staff,ingredient, the biodegradable ustensiles they use and the price. Chef Jeffrey was there to answer all of our questions we had about the very interesting menu and diverse item which includes very specific level of hotness. Interesting note, the spiciest was made with the ghost pepper. We actually went with friends who travelled across Asia and they said that's the most authentic cuisine they had on our side of the pond. I came here today for a late lunch after reading such positive reviews. Needless to say, I was disappointed with both service and food. When I walked in, there was just one other customer eating at a table. Being this was my first time eating here, I had to take a minute to stand at the front to review the menu board overhead. There was a gentleman (possibly the owner?) standing at the cashier waiting for my order. I told him it was going to be a minute or two as i had to review the menu. In the meantime, a couple walked in and strolled right up to the till to order. Fine. By the time they were done ordering, I was ready. I decided to try the Cambodian spring rolls & Thai green curry. The gentleman asked me what kind of protein I wanted and what spice level? So I asked for beef and mild. He immediately responded that I could expect the curry to be very spicy at least a 5 on the scale of heat. Alarmed, I second guessed myself. I told him I'd had green curry plenty of times before from authentic Thai restaurants throughout the city, to which he replied if it wasn't spicy then they didn't make it right - "Thai green curry uses green chilies so it's supposed to be spicy and if it isn't then it wasn't made right". He seemed very annoyed he had to explain and educate these things to me. So after he scared me how spicy the curry was I decided to change my mind and instead ordered the Pad Thai noodles. But before I finalized the order, I inquired about the Thai style Chow Mein and asked what exactly it was. He then proceeds to "educate" me that it's just like Chinese style so "If I've ever had Chinese style chow mein it's pretty much the same except with basil" (Um excuse me? What's with the attitude? And you can clearly see that I'm of Asian descent - Chinese actually -so yes I have had Chow Mein many times since I was young, heck i've even made it so please don't speak to me like i'm an idiot). Anyways, I decided to stick with the Pad Thai with Chicken after that explanation. The gentleman felt he needed to warn me once again that the spice level of this dish was a 4 because of the red chili. Fine. I paid and sat down and waited. When the food finally arrived, I was surprised to see must how anemic my Pad Thai looked. The rice noodles were barely coated with sauce - they were sticky and needed a lot more sauce to make these taste good. The ratio of noodles to toppings was large - I basically ate biteful after biteful of noodles and every so often was lucky to get a piece of veggie, egg, or even chicken (I think I counted 8 small bite-size pieces of chicken throughout the whole bowl). Also, the spiciness level was surprisingly so little - what heat?! - that his forewarning made me laugh - I should've ordered the Green Curry after all. It was disappointing. Also, the Cambodian spring rolls never arrived because the same gentleman thought I wavered on those and so didn't order them for me even though he apologized and said he should've asked - he didn't. I didn't have enough time to finish eating my Pad Thai so I got a take out box to put the leftovers in. I'm disappointed in the whole experience. I was wanting someone to welcome me warmly to this new & exciting establishment, to take the time to tell me what the values were for this business - it looks like they believe in sustainable products? But then again i'm not sure. I wanted to know the story behind this place and I got none of that. I feel like the owners think they have a great knowledge of Southeast Asian cuisine - probably because they've travelled there before, and I suspect many a time. The place itself was too cold with air conditioning and the music being played overhead was Oldies diner music. How strange and mis-matched to the food and surroundings. The set-up of the establishment is nice with an open-style kitchen, a long wood communal table, some high top tables, and window seats and floor to ceiling windows on 2 sides of the place which brings in lots of natural light. Overall, I would be very hesitant to return after this very disappointing experience in both service & food. read more

I don't know why it took me so long to try noodle box... possibly because there are so many restaurants in that part of sherwood park and the place is simply called noodle box, but once I did try it is was pleasantly surprised. I like my food spicy, so I ordered my satay noodle box spicy..... the guy behind the counter launched into a questioning period of 'have you eaten here before' and 'are you sure you want it that hot '.... he recommended I only get it as medium hot. He was right, medium hot was perfect.... they chop Thai red chillies into your bowl, so the hotter you request, the more chillies they add. I wouldn't have wanted more than I got. My sister has been raving about this place for ages as she's from Vancouver. Her peanut bowl was consistent and delicious but she said the spice level was a bit milder than van. My Singapore bowl was very filling and very bland. Not like Singaporean food at all, and certainly not like a curry. The thing that was great was the amount of fillings and quality ingredients. Chicken was plentiful as well as the veggies. It isn't one of those bowls that are all noodle and no filling. For that, it felt healthy, hearty and is worth trying. read more

This is probably my favourite "fast food" noodle take out place in Sherwood Park and Edmonton. I love their pad Thai - most fast pad thais are too saucy, and this one is just right. Guys this place is amazing!!! Right in Baseline Village in Sherwood Park, Noodlebox serves just that....noodle boxes. There are stir fry and curry options (so yes, some have rice) but the coolest thing is that everything is made fresh in the store daily. This means their sauces don't come in big plastic bags that are trucked in from around the world. All of the meat and produce is locally sourced! How amazing is that for a fast food place!? It's like an Asian version of what Tres Carnales does for Mexican food. Their spice levels have more kick that normal, so if you like mega heat you will definitely feel it with their Scorching Hot level. The staff is super friendly and we were given a full breakdown of the menu and how everything works upon entering. Such a great little spot with a great vibe inside. Noodle bowl was ok. Nothing to spectacular but what I found more disturbing was the large mural on the wall talking about ethical food but when asked about it the response was disappointing. They buy local when possible but really only for 2 months out of the year. Then the staff member went on to tell me how they ensure all animals are slaughtered with the upmost care and only use Halal meat. Anyone familiar with Halal meat knows it is definitely NOT the most ethically humane way to kill an animal. In fact it is the opposite. Spent about an hr looking for this place as i got lost coming off all the construction between anthony henday and yellowhead . Finally reached home plate and bought some Tom Yum soup to stay and some spicy peanut and kung pao to go which i'll eat later. Staff is friendly and the layout of the store is very simple and informal. There are utensils and sauces on the tables in case you need hot sauce. They have a lot of water glasses on a side table with 2 types of water taps for plain and bubbly in case your face starts on fire i guess from the heat. You pay up front and they bring it to you. I doubt i'll drive this far from the west end enough times to get their spice system down pat so i ordered everything mild/medium as i read they understate everything. You can always make stuff hotter later but you can't un-spice things. The soup turned out to be much like a spicy pho broth with small thick beef pieces,vegetables and flat noodles . It was pretty complex and very good. It wasn't very spicy at all though so i ladled in a bunch of sambal olek to crank it up. I'll have to add more to this review after i eat the other dishes. read more

We tried this place for the first time today. It would do in a pinch, but I don't think we'll be back. We were greeted by the staff after having a chance to look at the menu. They are friendly and helpful. Service is an A+. We ordered the thai green curry, the teriyaki stir fry, and the ginger beef to go. Unfortunately the stir fry and the curry were packed on top of the ginger beef and fell through the flimsy box, so everything was covered in ginger beef. The food was mostly tasteless except the green curry which wasn't good. There were very few vegetables in the curry and the stir fry- just a few pieces - and since I ordered it without protein it was 90% noodles. Here's the deal.. I hate cilantro.. Remember this... First time in, got what looked like an amazing dish! Asked to have it without cilantro.. no big deal! Waited around a little while, clearly made fresh as much as possible! Took my first bite and decided, I'll be back frequently! Great grub! Second bite.. Cilantro... Whole dish, ruined... So I went and asked how much of a pain in the ass would it be to have it remade without cilantro.. He said it wouldn't be, but he'd have to recharge me for it... To which I replied, but I asked to have it made without cilantro... To my surprise.. He disagreed and said I never did.. So here's the deal... His attitude toward the whole situation sucked and I expected more.. Maybe I didn't ask, but I distinctly recall requesting my dish without cilantro.. BUT, the reason this establishment is getting 5 stars, he gave me the benefit of the doubt, remade my dish for free and have me a to go box for the tainted dish. Please eat here! Like I said, the attitude sucked in that interaction, but, by giving me the benefit of the doubt, I will certainly return. Also, the food is top notch, 100% amazing! This used to be my favorite lace to eat. I could not get enough of their spicy noodle box Last time I went the price went up. there wasn't a lot of meat in it and very very little veggies.
