We chose spicy tuna rolls, mixed tempura, spring rolls, fried rice, and california rolls. Service was good, but it took a while for the food to come out of the kitchen. It seemed again to be pretty quiet, so i encourage people to try it because it definately is a business that deserves to be there. Food was delicious and plentiful. For sure the star runner was the spicy tuna rolls. So delicious and flavourful! I would order this again. Mixed tempura was tasty and the batter was amazing. Spring rolls were good but on par with other places. Fried rice and the california rolls were flavourful as well. Try it!

They have recently changed their menu. The restaurant wasn't busy tonight. It is very kid friendly, with high chair(s). There are no change tables but there is a table in the bathroom. The kids love miso soup, tempura and the yaki udon. If you ordered the bento boxes, miso soup comes with it. So, it was economical to order bento boxes and let the kids eat off our plates while we each had a small serving of sashimi with Bento Box B pption. Dinner for 4 came to around $72 (two bento boxes and 2 dragon eye rolls) after taxes and gratuity, so it is a nice place to go to for special occasions or when you are in the mood for good Japanese food.

Recently they have opened up to having dine-in, and we thought we'd finally go back and have a meal in. I can't believe that I haven't written about Ichiban in the past. I love this little place. Quaint, unassuming, with all the atmosphere you'd expect from a small sushi shop. Ichiban has a very extensive menu, and most types of Japanese meals you can think of they have them. I have tried the odd few items on the menu, but I keep coming back to the sushi/rolls. Tonight's selection was not to disappoint as per all the prior visits to Ichiban. We ordered a Red Dragon, White Dragon and Tropical roll. Our servers were all decked out in protective gear, and I appreciate that, and were incredibly efficient. Tea and water was on the table in no time and the rolls were not far behind. Considering all of the walk-ins for take-out orders we saw, I was very pleasantly surprised to see how fast the kitchen and sushi chefs pump out the food. Rolls were delish as we had come to expect. Overall, this is my go-to for sushi. Moderately priced, fresh, tasty, great service. This is a winning recipe ! I'll be back to try out a few more of the large variety of rolls/maki on the menu.
