Freaky fast pho. Too bad some sub chain already thought of that tag line. I'm always amazed at how fast the food comes out - I've been coming here for years and have never once been kept waiting. At least a dozen varieties of steaming bowls of pho, all served with a generous helping of bean sprouts, basil leaves, spicy jalapeños (hotter than most I've had) and lime wedges. Go ahead, load up your bowl with those healthy veggies - just don't overdo the sauces, as it's easy to accidentally overpower the fragrant but delicate beef broth. Failing to order the cha gio (A1) appetizer is a regrettable error (unless you're vegetarian, of course). In the summer months, when I'm not digging a hot bowl of pho, dish V8 (vermicelli with BBQ pork) is my go-to - followed by a cafe sua da (sweet Vietnamese iced coffee made with Cafe du Monde). This is the first pho restaurant ever that our food came out literally within 5 minutes! Like a express Pho. Broth is good, not oily like some places can be. they were very generous with their meats however the meat was not soft. Could have been cook a little longer. It was chewy & a tad too dente. I've been coming to Pho empire for YEARS now and can't believe I haven't gotten around to reviewing them until now. My go to is always the pho with eye round steak. The steak cooks in the hot broth and is SUPER tender. The prices are pretty reasonable as well. I always get a side of the shrimp spring rolls as well, which are refreshing! My friends know me as being sarcastic a lot of the time, but I advise you to take me seriously when I say this: BEST PHO EVER. I grew up in San Diego (city heights) where I believe it is the "Pho Capital" of the U.S. Tons of Vietnamese refugees, pho restaurants at every block. A solid Pho spot!!! I was not expecting this place to be a big spot, but the restaurant was quite large with a lot of seating available. Customer Service: The waitress that helped us was very sweet and helpful. One downside was that although chopsticks and forks were already prepackaged and covered on our tables the soup spoons were just sitting out. We've been looking for a new pho place around here - I think we've found what we're looking for! The pace of service in terms of pho is excellent. We were seated right away as walk-ins and had our pho in front of us 5 minutes after ordering! Amazing. What took a lot longer were the drinks. Our waitress said that they would take 5 minutes longer than the pho... But we got those right as we'd finished our bowls, so that was a little disappointing. We both got the Pho Bo Empire (Noodle soup topped with rare beef eye-of-round, beef flank, crunchy beef fat, soft tendon, bible tripe, and meat balls) - I got small, and my partner ordered extra large. The difference is quite noticeable for a small difference of $2! We got pork and shrimp spring rolls as well. We were a little disappointed by the pork in the rolls, as it was one of those pressed sausage ones. We also got the avocado smoothie with boba and iced coffee, and these took longer than expected. The broth is very flavorful and satiating, and they give you a generous portion, even for the small! Plenty of meat in the Pho Bo Empire! The avocado smoothie was very icy - less avocado than I would've liked. And the iced coffee was way stronger than I'm used to! But that's good if you're lookin for that extra caffeine boost! read more

For my #ThankyouThursday review, I would like to renew my review for Pho Empire. This locally owned Vietnamese restaurant is beyond delicious! It is difficult finding vegetarian pho and this place nails it! In fact, there is a full page in the menu dedicated to vegetarian options! They are taking full precautions when it comes to COVID. They have blocked off tables to keep diners distant from others. They have a plastic shield at the register to prevent the virus spreading. The employees are very friendly and the food is prepared quickly. If you like glass noodles, I recommend the K3 pho. The broth is delicious and offers fresh mushrooms, carrots, celery and onion. There are two types of tofu, as well. They even package it all up tightly to prevent it from spilling when taking it home. Their veg spring rolls with a peanut sauce is the bomb! I also recommend the shrimp papaya salad as well as the friend shrimp appetizer. I have actually increased my take out from Pho Empire so I can support the locally owned business. Be sure to visit Pho Empire- I can pretty much guarantee you will love it!! read more

If you've been following or have read my profile, you might have learned that my most recent discovery and enjoyment is Pho. So good! Hey, better late than never! I was happy to find this regarded spot close to home and on my way back from urgent care. Yes! I'll be back for sure. I walked in to order and was surprised to see how huge the restaurant was. It does not look it at all from the outside. There were lots of menu items to choose and the prices were extremely reasonable for the portion (like $10). I decided to go with P27, but may venture out next time...MAYBE. Like another reviewer mentioned -- if you're picking up a to-go order, no worries about it staying hot...it sure will! The natural lover in me hates the styrofoam packaging, but it does work well for insulation. All of my ingredients were packaged separately like blue apron with a chopstick on the side (aye!). I had so much broth left over that I turned it into another soup the next day. I was happy about that because making that beef/bone broth is an easy feat. Since when is 5-spice Vietnamese and where are the flats? Grilled chicken not good. Like a hunk of chicken breast in 5-spice yet again. No real lemongrass taste. This was my second time at Pho Empire. A few of my friends are in love with their pho. On my first visit I had their pho and what I remember I wasn't completely in love with their broth. On this visit I ordered Bành Hi. I decided on that because I'm not able to get it back home and it's one of my favorites. I got the grilled beef and the meatball. The beef was sliced into thin strips and the meatball was cut up into odd shaped pieces. The grilled beef was really seasoned well and tasted great. The meatballs were kinda tough and hard to chew. You really had to put in work. My friend ordered the same thing as me and he was totally overwhelmed by how much food you got in the dish. He also wasn't to happy with the meatball. He didn't even finish eating it. My aunt got the shrimp fried rice. This was also a very large portion. She was very happy with her dish also. Service is very consistent here. Visiting from CA, and stop by from the rav reviews. I got their special empire pho and combo appetizer. The pho broth was not as flavorful and lack the traditional pho taste that I'm used to. I've eaten a lot of pho in my life, from Vietnam throughout the US, so I know a thing or two about the broth flavor. This place doesn't deliver the great pho flavor, it's ok, hence the 3 stars. The meat was mediocre, I didn't enjoy the tendon, it was too chewy, and the tribe and beef was good. The appetizer was ok as well, too oily and no flavor. We were last there a year ago and the pho and pork chop was great. This time the pho seemed it was not hot enough as it cooled by 5 mins. The pork chop was a smaller cut than before. I recall getting bigger pieces at other restaurants like PQH. The pork chop was also missing the shrimp on the plate, when we ask about it they said its in the bean curd. Since writing this review, I've been back multiple times. The last couple times have been very bad service. The second to last time I ordered here was pick up and they were upset at me for not specifying which size soup even though i told them the number and the size I wanted before on the phone. They were very rude in the way they handled it when i didnt want to pay for the item i did not order. Today, I went to go and see if Service had improved, and two staff members very rudely ignored me when i had been standing waiting to be seated, other people were seated TWICE before me. When requesting a different table, they didn't want to accommodate and had me in the worst spot close to the front where the cash register is. Who wants to sit next to people being seated and people who are picking up their orders? I believe this restaurant has declined in service and you should be careful and aware of the risks when coming. read more

The spring rolls came to my table in 1 minute which could tell something was not right but I knew that spring rolls were cooked and you just needed to heat them up, so that's fine. Then in another 2 minutes, my sandwich was served. WTH, I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, didn't you need time to grill the chicken? And yes I was right, the chicken was cold and they were so so so dry and hard. So dry to swallow. I had to drink water each bite with the chicken or I couldn't sawllow the chicken. Yeah, tgat dry. Great place if you're craving Vietnamese food! Large and roomy seating inside, no need to worry how long the wait will be to get a table. I stuck with my tried and true dishes - beef pho and egg rolls and I was not disappointed. First off, I appreciated seeing that you could order 3 different sizes of soup bowls. Sometimes just craving pho because you love it and needing pho to cure a hangover requires different bowl sizes if you know what I mean. The broth was perfectly salty and the beef was tender. The egg rolls had the classic crispy crunch with a side dipping sauce. If I lived in Texas, I could see myself coming here regularly. There was no messing around in this kitchen because the food came out quick. I personally like to eat my appetizer first before the soup, but I wasn't sad when both items showed up. Their beef pho isn't my favorite, but when I go here I get the pho ga empire (chicken pho with vegetables and quail egg), which is super satisfying, healthy, and loaded with crisp broccoli, bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, chicken thigh and breast, and a tasty quail egg! A small is plenty and will fill you up, and the broth is especially great! When I'm not feeling soup, I get the pho ap chao, a pan-fried noodle with a crispy disk of wide, flat rice noodles and sauteed meats and veggies in a savory gravy on top. I came here for dinner with my fiancé and the restaurant is deceptively huge! Lots of seating and very pretty on the inside. We were promptly seated and asked what drinks we would like. They serve coke products but also have a variety of teas and coffee you could order. For an appetizer, we ordered a side of two egg rolls. These are pretty big egg rolls and very flavorful! I ordered the vermicelli bowl with BBQ pork and an egg roll for my dinner and it was delicious! I could have done with more veggies personally, but everything was very fresh and the pork was really good and definitely had the BBQ flavor. I added lots of their chili garlic oil and sauces to my plate and it was perfect! My fiancé has the S77, which came with a bed of crunchy noodles with a variety of meat and veggies on top. He finished nearly all of it and said he would definitely order it again! After you're finished, you take the receipt they leave you to the front and pay up there.
