I was hungry and ended up at Pho DJ, but unfortunately, I left extremely disappointed. I ordered the seafood pho and spring rolls. While waiting, I went to wash my hands, and the bathroom was filthy, cluttered, outdated, and poorly stocked there weren't even toilet seat covers. Seeing a bathroom that dirty in a restaurant honestly made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. To make matters worse, one of the workers was eating at a nearby table and left his dirty bowl sitting there the entire time I was there. The overall cleanliness and lack of attention were very off-putting. The food didn't redeem the experience. The pho had almost no flavor, and the spring rolls tasted old. The rice paper was hard and unpleasant to eat. I would not return or recommend this place. read more

I thought the pho was good. Coming from someone who lived close to little saigon. The price seemed alright. The service is what I expect from a Vietnamese restaurant. Yes there is a little language barrier but I didn't have a problem receiving what I ordered. I have been a loyal customer for years but lately things have declined. Staff are becoming more rude, not attentive and everything is becoming less in terms of portion. If you order take out pho. The broth is cut in half. The noodles stick together and even the spring rolls lack meat in terms of portion. They even give me a hard time asking for an extra container to pour in chili sauce. Lately I've noticed the charges for meals fluctuate and not consistent. They use language barriers to take advantage of transactions. The most recent transaction was supposed to be $11 for my pho and I signed my reciept thinking $11 was on it. When I looked at my bank statement I noticed I was charged $25 dollars. Luckily I had a copy of the receipt and it was for $1.00 instead of $11.00 but wow they had the audacity to change the tip and put in a 24 dollar tip. This is a loyal customer speaking here. Just shocking. I will never return again and I encourage you all to find other pho places to go to. This one is a RED FLAG!!!! read more

I was craving some pho after the gym so I came to Pho DJ. When I walked inside, the older gentleman directed me very politely to sit at table 1. I ordered the #3 pho with tendon, brisket, and tripe. It was absolutely delicious, the broth was extremely flavorful and the meat was tasty and tender. The only con I would say is they serve slightly too many noodles per bowl and the broth gets soaked up a bit, not that serious. Disgusting. I went in today for some pho and egg rolls, the pho was fine but the egg rolls were not it. when I received them there was hair on it, absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. I told the guy about it and he saw the hair on my food and told me that they were perfectly fine and still good to eat, I tried to be nice about it and get a new set of egg rolls but he didn't want to and told me that ill be okay and that the egg rolls are delicious. what kind of business is this. they still decided to charge me afterwords too. don't come here unless you want hair in your food where they will still want you to eat it for your money, never coming again. read more

We were there tonight. The meat was all fat and very little meat. They over charged us. We ordered 2 Pho Brisket@ $13 each. Total $26 + taxes $2.21 = $28.21, but the lady told me $32 at the register. I paid cash so no charge for a card...when I questioned her she told me "Because taxes". I used cash, so there was no charge for a card. She didn't write a bill for me, just only said at first "$32". I said " What? Excuse me?!" ..then she said "Oh, just $30". To be clear, the food was not very good. Barely any meat for a "Pho with Brisket" and it was fatty and not much meat. Mostly noodles. My husband when we got in the car..."well that was a let down". Unfortunately, that was an understatement. The service was terrible (only bringing out half of the needed silverware, napkins, waters), having to ask repeatedly for things, and language barrier (which is not an issue in and of itself but the waitstaff didn't even attempt to understand what it was we were asking for; they just assumed). The food was even worse. Salty broth, not enough meat, noodles that were a stuck together glob. The spring rolls were mostly lettuce, cucumber and wrap. The egg rolls were over crisp and bland. The combo fried rice that came out as we were wrapping up our meal was BURNT. We sent it back and was responded with an attitude. Riverside is seriously lacking good pho places. Really good pho! Came in for lunch and saw quite a few to go orders going out. Simple but clean. I had pho tai and my partner had pho tai chin (sorry for lack of accents). The noodles had good bite and the meat was a modest portion but good. But I was happiest to find a broth I liked! We have tried a few places around IE and I find it's usually leaning so heavy into the southern style, to the point of being too sweet. This place had a simpler, more beefy broth and I really enjoyed its balance. It's on the shiny side but I didn't feel it was heavy. I also noticed their menu had han dam (vinegar onion) which you usually don't see. I didn't order it so not sure if it's still available, but I will ask next time. This will probably be our spot for the days where OC is too far. It's enough to scratch the itch I think. :) read more

The customer service is horrible here- at least if you are interacting with the Female that answers the phone and takes your orders at the cashier. I attempted to place a telephone order for Boba milk tea but she rushed me off the phone and told me just to come in to place my order instead of going over the flavors they had over the phone. When I arrived she was on the phone having a personal conversation and seemed inconvenienced to have to take my order. I repeated to her twice that I wanted Taro (once as she walked away from me still on the phone). I sat and waited for my drinks to come out. When they were ready she walked out and placed the drinks on a random table (not where i was seated) and didn't once glance or address me to let me know they were mine. Keep in mind I was looking for a purple/ lavender looking drink and these were light brown. The Man that also works there noticed I had been waiting for a while and asked me if I had been helped. I mentioned I was waiting for my drinks. The lady above then came rushing out and pointed at the drinks sitting at this vacant table and said those are your drinks and then walked away again without much further. I took the drinks home thinking maybe their Taro was super light in the purple color but there was not hint of taro flavor. The drink was light brown in color. The flavor was dilute. I took a picture for this review specifically and moved on. Until today, my wife without prior knowledge of my above mentioned experience told me she tried their Pho this morning after donating plasma next door. She had a similar experience from the lady. The pho itself the flavor was "okay" not enough broth too much noodles. She said she just tasted noodles. Can't speak for the food myself though. read more

Had never had pho before until now and it was a great experience! The owners were very nice and accommodating despite us coming in 45 minutes before close and the food came out very fast! The dining area was very clean as well and well stocked with condiments. Oh boy was the food great! The broth, meat, veggies everything was super fresh and almost rejuvenating i felt like a new man after eating. Great deal too man i only paid 32 for two bowls one being the xl #1 pho bowl and second #21 chicken pho bowl. Great experience, Great place, extremely underrated. Today I ordered Vietnamese iced coffee, with condensed milk as opposed to black (the menu gives you this choice). It was $4, plus 75¢ for paying with a card (yikes, my bad), and they could not take my Discover card but Visa was fine. It tasted good and made me happy. I love to see how different places make their Viet coffee. This place makes freshly crushed ice for your coffee, which fills the plastic cup to the top with ice. For me, I have a feeling I'm getting less liquid with this kind of ice but I haven't done any experimenting to confirm. I have eaten here before and enjoyed the spring rolls, too. read more

It's the worse pho I ever had. I would give a 0 start if there is an option! Went in today just because it's close to home and wants some pho. First came out with the bean sprouts which already went bad and the server saw me looking at it then asked if I want a new one. I said yes. So he changed a different one (it was alright) I ordered rare steak with the tendon. The rare steak wasn't even rare and it was all the way in the bottom and smell weird. I also asked a little bit more onion which they didn't tell me they will charge extra which turns out is $1 more. I found that out when I tried to pay for the bill. It suppose to be $13 plus tax and it came out $16.50. I asked for the check and the lady just gives me the change and walked away without providing me the receipt. What a bad service. I don't mind to pay extra but they should've told customer before they charged it which is not even said on the menu! Won't go back again for sure. My husband & I were in the shopping center trying to find something good to eat & came across this lovely gem. To start off with the restaurant was very clean, organized. There was a man that was sitting at a table doing paperwork & a lady who was sitting across the way, both had gotten up greeted us & brought us waters. The man took our order & the lady made it fresh. The food was absolutely AMAZING! Although I wish they would give a bit more meat as we paid roughly $14 a plate the food was AMAZING! I use to love this place. It tastes pretty good, but now that they increased their prices, they also lie about them. We originally got 2 #1's for $13.50 and a #14 for $12. We saw signs stating they increased their price by $1 for any meal above $8. Somehow our total came out to $49. We did the math and unless there was a $7 tax they overcharged us and when we asked about the prices they made it sound like we had the math wrong. No receipt and we even paid with cash so we didn't have to spend a 0.75 cent credit card service charge fee. We will not be returning and getting ripped off a second time. read more

During my cold edition, December 2023 Pho Dj has been a life savior! It's delicious phos have kept me alive this ugly cold season. My favorite has been the Pho Ga ( chicken pho). I always call and a friendly voice takes my order, and in 5 to 10 minutes my delicious hot pho is ready. Luv it!!! The establishment is pretty plain, located in a plaza with limited parking ( a post office is located next door) but the food is delicious, in special if you don't feel well, like me , right now :( read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I had been here twice before Today's visit and always thought the food was pretty good. My last visit something seemed off with the pricing and today even more. Are they up charging and not disclosing the prices?? And there is no itemized receipt to verify your total. Looking over the menu items I ordered and the listed pricing it did not add up. What's worse is that I get home, sit down to eat my take out order and as I'm biting into my second spring roll there's a hair. I begin to pull it out and it's stuck in the lettuce leaves. As I unravel the wrap to inspect further I find a SECOND HAIR wrapped up further into the spring roll wrapper. IM SO DISGUSTED!!! Needless to say the hair was the final straw. attempted to go in and pick up dinner to go. i was "helped" by an older man. I ordered one of the plates that come with steamed rice & salad. i inquired about switching the steamed rice to fried rice and he went into a tangent about how they don't do that it's to expensive and it's to much food for me . i'm assuming he thought i wanted both steamed rice and fried rice, which if i did ?? i explained i wanted to substitute the rice and would pay but if it was to much trouble it was okay . he goes to the kitchen to put my order in and comes back to charge me and AGAIN tells me that's to much food for me! while i tried to find the comedy in the situation i was still highly offended by the unnecessary comments about the price of the order being "expensive" for me as well as that i was ordering to much food for myself ( he assumed). will never come back here . please learn to properly communicate or do not interact with the customers. read more

As I step foot inside the restaurant this place reeks of old wet towels . The lady who took my order doesn't acknowledge her mistake. I ask for hot coffee , she brought over ice coffee . When I told her that's not what I asked . She insisted I "give it a try it's really good ." I had to tell her I drink coffee black and don't want any creme / sugar in it and my health will not allow me to drink What she brought over .
