Hello all, i am finally back with another review yesterday, my family and i went to big bear and got hungry, and of course due to the cold weather we were craving something warm and soupy. We decided on this small place that's kind of hidden, and upon entering, they had plenty of customers! now, the area wasn't the most clean to be honest, but there were 2 or 3 people working and at least 20 customers, so i brushed it off. The menu and the food on it looked great! i decided to split a beef soup and noodles, but i think my brother messed up the order, because i only received noodles with soup. No problem. The food came quickly and we started to eat. In my mother's first bite of food, she got a massive hair in her noodles :( ! She immediately returned it but no longer had an appetite. The noodles i received kind of tasted like microwave food, so i didn't quite enjoy it, but my brothers enjoyed their food! they got brisket pho, the steam bbq pork bun, and thai boba ice tea. I liked the taste of the pork buns, and the boba was delicious TL;DR, i didn't get a stomach ache, and (most of) my family enjoyed their meal. The servers were great and polite, but the place could use some upgrades ambiance wise and more cleaning . Fairly priced. read more

HAPPY FOR PHO! Thankful for some decent asian food in Big Bear! Location is kind of hidden but park next door in the rental area and quick walk to a small restaurant. Pros: 1. No wait, food came out quickly 2. Outside dining & clean restrooms 3. Pho had generous amount of meat 4. Veggie egg rolls were our fav. Kids liked the steamed dumplings. 5. Variety of Asian dishes was nice. We got the beef stir fried noodles, crunchy veggie egg rolls, steamed dumplings 6. Girl working was friendly Cons 1. Appetizers were not made in-house 2. We had 3 pho and they all had different amounts of cilantro, onions etc. One bowl had a ton cilantro and the other barely had any. Broth was a tad too sweet for me and it wasn't served piping hot. 3. Only a few tables inside which will make it hard during the winter service Overall this place is great for beginners who have never tasted pho. Ask them for a free drink! The service here is nice and convenience is great if you're staying at nearby resort. I tried the pad thai and was not a fan, it was not terrible, but was completely drowning in sauce that made it really difficult to eat and overly sweet. Some of their other food looks good, maybe give some other menu items a try and not the pad thai. read more

I've always said that Big Bear needs a pho restaurant so I'm glad to see my wishes came true! This restaurant is on the main big bear city road; however it is a bit hidden. The first floor has about 3 tables but there's plenty of seat outside if the weather is nice and I also found out there's an upstairs dining area! Owner says it will be open for the winter season. We ordered 3 bowls of pho and the combination fried rice. The pho broth looked a bit dark but it did have the aromatic flavor. They were pretty generous with the meat but the brisket was dry. The fried rice a bit greasy for my taste but my son enjoyed it. All in all, a great place to fill our tummy and get the pho fix! The owner was super nice and hospitable. read more

I'm very torn on the rating. The pho broth was decent and probably would have have earned 4 stars by itself(or possibly a big bear 5), but the crispy noodles and Chinese pancake were very disappointing. We got 3 bowls of pho and the noodles were overcooked for one bowl, on the soft side for a second bowl, and good on the third bowl. If you're looking for Asian food in big bear, then the pho is probably one of your best options. If you're walking from the streets north of the restaurant, google maps will try to take you through the back, but it's all fenced off and you'll have to walk up to the Main Street to get in. Workers were friendly and they quite a selection of beer options. read more

My Daughter and I just shared an amazing dinner at this HIDDEN GEM in BIG BEAR LAKE which featured a very welcoming mountain ambiance and authentic Chinese cuisine at affordable prices ! Our host was extremely pleasant and the Chef himself literally served our entrees with a smile on his face, which has never happened at any restaurant in my entire life, lol! My Daughter ordered the Kung Pao Chicken & I chose the Vegetable Chow Mein, both items were appropriately seasoned and arrived in a perfect amount of time. We were fortunate enough to meet the lovely owner of the establishment who is such a blessing to interact with, her energy is beautifully engaging and really leaves you longing for the next visit. As a true lover of pho I had to check this place out and see if their pho was any good. The broth was pretty decent. Not the best bowl of pho I've ever had but hey, when you're in the mountains of big bear and want a bowl of pho this place comes through in a pinch. Service was friendly and the waiter who came to serve the food had a big smile on his face and accommodated my request for additional accoutrements such as lime and I'm sure would have gave additional bean sprouts as well. They also have a wide variety of beers there, not just the traditional Asian beers but they also had some craft beers in their offerings. After hiking in Big Bear, we wanted to find something to eat, and this was one of the closest spot to our hike. The workers are super friendly, but it does seem like the girl working the front was really nervous. Food came out super quick, and was brought out by the cooks. We got the pad Thai, spring rolls, a sprite, and a mango smoothie. The smoothie was really sweet, and tasted like it was made from powder. The spring rolls were probably the best item out of the whole meal, since it was filled with veggies and paired with a really good peanut sauce! The pad Thai was a really good portion size, but it was very saucy and oily. The flavor of it was a little off from typical pad Thai flavors, but texture-wise, it was standard. We didn't see a whole lot of indoor seating, if any, but there's plenty of outdoor seating which made it dog-friendly. There's not a whole lot of Asian spots in Big Bear, so we were still appreciative of this spot offering some Asian flavors. This place is hidden inside the plaza of the Bear Creek Resort. There's parking on the side of the restaurant, or you can possibly also park in the Bear Creek lot and walk over. read more

I tried this Vietnamese restaurant with a couple friends. The pho they had was okay, but not exceptional. The Bahn Mi sandwich I had would have been good but they used a frozen roll that was thawed but the bottom was hard as a rock which ruined the sandwich. I took it back and they made another one. But any decent chef should know that the bread roll is key to a good sandwich. They did take it back and make it again for me. But again the bread was hard. We ate here on our family's last night and it was so good. The service was awesome, I will definitely come back on my next trip.

Unfortunately I was disappointed with my order here. I got the steak and brisket pho and the meat was very questionable and dry which turned me off. The broth and noodles were good. The orange chicken was good, but nothing you couldn't get anywhere else and it wasn't hot. It just seemed like classic frozen orange chicken. We finished the meal with boba Thai tea which was my main excitement for coming. The boba was way overcooked and not sweet while the tea itself barely had flavor. I wish I could say better things as the staff was nice and we got our food quickly, but I would not go back here. After coming on here and reading other reviews of all the bugs found in food I'm afraid I won't be eating my leftovers either. read more

The Pho is very tasty and the broth is homemade they even sell just the broth it's that good. Shrimp Spring Rolls are yummy and filling especially with their homemade peanut sauce. Usually I dine in but today I decided to call & when I did the phone rang and no one answered so I hung up. Just thinking it was a busy Saturday night I disregarded trying to order out , then my phone rang. Busy Holiday week. Was able to place take out order waited 20 mins for soup. Chicken pho was very good. Veggie broth lacked flavor but added spice and it was good.
