Great BBQ and a dog friendly patio.

Our family has had great experiences at Jasper's BBQ and in Big Bear, Jasper's is THE place to go for BBQ. A big part of our great experiences has been the service. The staff are friendly, cheerful, and attentive without being intrusive. A special shout-out to David who was phenomenal at our last visit. We placed our order to go, and David made sure our food was cooked just right and even checked in on us while we sat at the bar waiting for our food to be prepared. Our favorite go-to's are their pulled pork sandwich, sliced brisket, and mac n cheese. DELICIOUS! Our family will happily return to Jasper's BBQ again and again and highly recommend!

Busy night, all tables occupied, I was sue the wait would be long; I was wrong. We were seated right away, took about 5 minutes for a server to come by but once our food and drink were in, they rocked it! I split the Jalapeño Mac burger with my granddaughter, chose garlic parm fries as our side ($2 upgrade), burger served on a pretzel bun, cooked to medium, the Mac and jalapeño worked nicely together, but I'm sorry, the fries were disappointing. Another of us ordered the buffalo wings and said they loved em, and yet another got the ribs, side of Mac, fries and drink. I ordered the West Coast IPA which was delicious. Three servers hustled and kept customers happy, supported by a kitchen that appeared to be super efficient and good at what they do. They were pumping out the meals as the pick up window was constantly full. The decor and ambiance was something of an average nature but the mood was electric. Good job team!

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much after reading some of the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the pulled pork fries and they were good! There was a generous amount of meat on top, super tender, and the fries stayed nice and crispy even under all that pork, which I didn't expect. We also got ribs with onion rings, more pulled pork, and sweet potato fries. The ribs were bigger than we thought they'd be, and again, they didn't skimp on the pulled pork. The onion rings and sweet potato fries were solid too though I do wish the sweet potato fries were a bit less soggy, they still had good flavor. Service was great. Our server was really friendly and checked in just the right amount not too much, not too little. The vibe inside was lively but not too loud or crowded.

Good bbq place conveniently located near where we were staying. Got the 2 item combo with brisket and pulled pork because I wanted brisket and my bf wanted the latter. I ended up liking the pulled pork more because the brisket was a little thick and on the dryer side than what I'm used to at other bbq places. For the 2 sides we got Mac and cheese with salad (ranch dressing.) the Mac and cheese was good, the ranch was a bit but noticeably watered down. Food was decent for quick and easy take out. We phoned in our order for pick up. Portions of meat are pretty huge. We couldnt finish and had the leftover meat with mac and cheese for another meal, it was a lot for just 2 people!

This was some of the best barbecue I've had in a long time! While it was a bit unorganized when it came to getting a table, our service was pretty good. It's a smaller restaurant so keep that in mind if you're coming on a weekend, it can get pretty busy. Over all the food was delicious, drinks were good, definitely would recommend checking out!

Server Ricardo was kind and got our order exactly how we asked. The restaurant is very clean with a great variety of bbq and sides. Great ac and full sized restrooms.

My friends and I were walking around the village and as we turned a corner we were hit in the face with the best smelling BBQ! We all instantly got hungry. We walked in and was seated right away. I was surprised since it was midday and the resturaunt was kind of small. We also had 5 people in our party. We ordered our food and all I could think about was I really hoped that the food actually was as good as it smells. I'm from Louisiana so I'm pretty doubtful of most BBQ places in Cali. Boy, oh boy, did they live up to the smell! Everything was great! I ordered the Memphis melt with brisket and instead of fries I got friend pickles. The sandwhich was so ooey gooey with cheese and the brisket was so tender. I hate when you bite into a brisket sandwhich and the whole piece of brisket comes out or your sandwhich just falls apart. The fried pickles were very crispy, Just the way I like them! They served them with chipotle ranch. So freakinnnn good. My friend got the spicy mac sandwhich. Right when the waitress put it down on the table I was eyeing a little chunk of mac n cheese that fell out of the burger. I told my friend " ummm I'm taking this" . The Mac was so creamy! I deffinitky recommend atleast getting a side of it. All in all, eating as Jaspers was a great experience. We sat next to the windows which made for great people watching. I deffinitly recommend this place! Make sure to follow your nose!

Food was good but the service was where it missed the mark. The place itself is quaint so no problems there - we knew what to expect coming in. Employees were not very attentive and didn't take our order for 20 minutes after we sat unfortunately, but food made up for it! Fried pickles and mashed potatoes were delish and we enjoyed the ribs and brisket a lot!

I have been wanting to try Jasper's forever and finally did. I wish I hadn't waited so long. It was delicious! I can't have gluten and they were knowledgeable and helpful. I had the barbecue bowl with shredded chicken and it was amazing! I added extra bbq sauce because it was so good and I could not get enough of it. I brought my own gluten-free bread (weird I know) and dipped it in the regular barbecue and spicy barbecue sauces. So. Darn. Good. The only drawback for me is that the fries are all battered/breaded. But it's OK. There were plenty of other.options on the menu. Our server was so nice and helpful. I really like this place and can't wait to go back.

Our server Vanesssa gave us an amazing experience!! The host was also amazing!!! Good job to the Management. The food was amazing. Ambience was beautiful outside!

Food 4/5 Staff Friendliness 2/5 Cleanliness 2/5 (Rarely see staff wash hands after performing multiple tasks then handling food) I was sitting at my table today 11/30 5:38 and a patron with a stroller needed to pass. The woman (who is always rude to me) said "would you move so they can pass." I thought that was rude as she could have just said excuse me. I come in once a week for the last couple years and she always has an issue with my brother and myself. Today she had two ponytails, black shirt, blue jeans, and glasses. This might be my last time here. I ordinarily order the BBQ bowl with mashed potatoes topped with protein, cheese, green onions and pickles. The side of cornbread is generous and enough to share. The brisket burger is runner up for my favorites. This place would be a 5 star review if staff were friendlier and cleaner

You're fine, its also for patrons of the Cookshak. Next follow along around the side of the lodge into the backyard area and you'll come across a concrete patio w benches and tables. Order from the window and take your food to eat out on the back patio. The menu is different from what you can find on these Yelp menu photos so expect the prices to be a lot higher than two years ago, but prices are way higher everywhere from two years ago. I ordered a one item plate w two sides thinking I might not have ordered enough food but boy was I wrong. The sides portions are huge, the cornbread is huge, and the meat filled me up. The beans here are a spicy chili bean type that went great on top of the corn bread. The slaw was very good and the mac n cheese was reminiscent of kraft mac n cheese only w/ the addition of pepper and a sharper cheese flavor giving it a memorable taste. The potato salad was decent, potatoes prolly coulda been cooked a tiny bit longer but the rest of the salad tasted good. The star of the show was the brisket. You will get a slice or two near the end that might be cooked thru a little too much for my liking but the majority of what you get is melt in your mouth deliciousness. The honey mustard sauce they offer is perfect to dip the well done slices in but the juicy slices go great unassisted. I originally picked this spot because the other popular bbq spot nearby didn't open until 3 but I am glad I picked this spot because the food left me satisfied for the rest of the day and left me w a smile on my face afterwards.
