Our server was excellent. We sat in a booth by the kitchen. She was a blonde woman. Super friendly and attentive. The food was solid if not spectacular. Prices seemed in line with the area. While nothing was amazing, most of the food was good. The chicken stuffed with cheese could have used more cheese. There was very little cheese flavor. The rest of the food was good.

Delicious dinner and great service. We ordered the scampi and scallop pasta. So good!

My friend and I stopped here at Peppercorn Grille for lunch on a weekend and were seated right away. We ordered 2 ahi sandwiches and 2 lunch burgers. Everyone enjoyed their dish! The food was delicious and flavorful, though I think some items can be a bit pricey, $30.99 for a burger is on the higher side, but the taste definitely made up for it. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the service was attentive and friendly. Overall, a great spot for a tasty meal .

We had reservations and were seated promptly. Their fresh complimentary bread and better was dangerously delicious. They did have evoo and balsamic vinegar on the table if you didn't want butter. The classic pineapple daiquiri and the basil blues I highly recommend. Refreshing and spirit forward. I got the lobster ravioli and clam chowder which were great, they both had chunks of the seafood. My husband got the house salad and filet. W/steamed veggies. The filet and veggies were a little overcooked, still good but not great.

Peppercorn Grille is truly one of those must-visit dining experiences when you're in Big Bear Lake Village. My husband Ray and I had dinner here during our stay, and it was such a memorable evening from start to finish. This is not a rushed, in-and-out kind of place -- it's intimate, quiet, and meant to be enjoyed slowly. You come here to relax, connect, and savor every bite. Ray ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad and absolutely loved it. The candied almonds were such a special touch, and the dressing was phenomenal -- perfectly balanced and full of flavor. I had the Cappellini Pomodoro, and wow... the Roma tomato sauce was incredibly fresh and delicious. Everything was so light and beautifully put together. Even when I was getting full, I still wanted to keep eating because it was just that good. The Parmesan and overall balance made it feel indulgent without being heavy. Our server, Tyler, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely cared about our experience. I couldn't decide between a side salad or the soup of the day, and he recommended their onion soup -- not your typical onion soup at all, but a unique recipe I've never tasted before, and it was fantastic. Such a great recommendation. Servers like Tyler make all the difference. When someone treats a restaurant like it's their own, you feel it -- and it's why customers want to come back. Five stars all the way. Peppercorn Grille is absolutely a place we look forward to visiting every time we're in Big Bear.

This isn't just bad hospitality--it's a textbook example of discrimination dressed up as "policy." Upon entering, guests are greeted with a notice emphasizing "consideration." However, based on how my family was treated yesterday, it is evident that this policy is not about consideration, but exclusion. Before our food had even arrived, both the hostess and waitress singled us out in an otherwise nearly empty restaurant to enforce their "strict policy," warning that our toddlers would need to be taken outside--in the cold. From that moment forward, we no longer felt like guests, but rather as though we were under surveillance. Every small sound our children made seemed to be treated as a violation, creating unnecessary anxiety at the table. I calmly explained that my three-year-old daughter is autistic and was attempting to self-regulate. She was not disruptive, loud, or running around--she was simply existing. Expecting any toddler, neurotypical or not, to remain in near silence is unrealistic. Yet instead of being met with understanding, we were met with judgment. My husband and I are well acquainted with social etiquette and fine dining, and we frequently dine out with our children at a wide range of establishments. We have never encountered an experience as unpleasant as this. What makes the situation even more troubling is the evident arrogance--particularly from an establishment that presents itself as more refined than it truly is. The level of disdain shown toward paying customers was entirely unwarranted. We paid, requested our food to go, and left without causing a scene--but the feeling lingered. Not just anger, but a deep sense of disappointment--the kind that comes from recognizing how little empathy and emotional intelligence still exist in spaces that claim to serve the community. I've never had to walk out of a restaurant like that before. I'm sharing this now so that other families know what they're walking into.

    Birthday brownie time

10/10 Experience! Knocked it out of the park for a 21st Birthday! We brought a party of 10 (including 1 child) here last night to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday, and they handled our large group flawlessly with barely a wait. The hostess was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and full of smiles--she made us feel like we were where we belonged right from the start. The service was top-tier. The wait staff was beyond attentive; our water, tea, and coffee glasses were never empty, and the bartenders definitely do not do light pours on the mixed drinks! Now, the food... wow. Every single dish was superbly prepared and delicious. Our table tried the prime rib, stuffed chicken, lasagna, fettuccine, lobster ravioli, salads, and everything was exquisite. To top off a perfect night, the waitress came out to sing Happy Birthday and brought her a birthday brownie. I have zero complaints and zero suggestions. It's rare to find a place where absolutely everything is just that good. We will definitely be back!

Peppercorn Grille is the best restaurant in Big Bear. Their new takes on some of their classic Italian dishes will have you enjoying every bite until there's no leftovers. The staff is also amazing and attentive. Also, Daniel wasn't even our server, but made sure we were taken care of.

Pleasant Surprise in Big Bear! Classiest spot we could find. The pastas taste really authentic with depth to the sauce. The Spinach Ricotta Ravioli was delicious with fresh cheese filling & a creamy tomato sauce. The Beef Stroganoff was surprisingly tasty for a mushroom pasta. There was great service & food but for the price point, they should bring out better bread & butter. The thick slabs of white bread were not good.

Great service! Highly recommended to make a reservation as they may not take walk ins. Had the lobster ravioli and it was good but very rich and heavy. Good sized portions. The crab cake appetizer was delicious and fresh. Great date night spot. Pricey but still recommend.

This was easily one of the best dining experiences we've had in Big Bear. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere and a charming patio where we were able to dine comfortably with our dogs. We started with the bruschetta and the calamari steak served with a zesty lemon aioli--both dishes were generously portioned and full of flavor. Two members of our group are vegan, and the staff was happy to accommodate them with a delicious capellini pomodoro, served without cheese. I shared the flatiron steak, which was crusted with peppercorn and topped with a rich peppercorn cognac cream sauce--absolutely mouthwatering. If you're visiting Big Bear, this place should definitely be on your list.

There were a a handful of people waiting to be seated when we arrived and the couple before us were seated at the last outdoor patio table available. The hostess told us that we could go upstairs to the bar area and sit anywhere we wanted and a server would be with us directly. So that's what we did. As a side note, the whole vibe of the restaurant was very comfortable and the building itself is pretty remarkable. Water and menus were delivered within minutes of us selecting our table, and our waitress Victoria maintained that same level of attentiveness the whole time we were there. The biggest shortcoming of so many restaurants in and around Big Bear is the bar and their specialty drinks. But this place just slam dunked on every other restaurant we've ever tried over the years - and not just for the drinks. I love a good old fashioned but until last night, every place I'd been to served their old fashioned in a glass full of ice like I was getting a soda at a fast food drive through. Not here. A proper big block ice cube made the "Maple old fashioned" (hands down) the best drink I've ever had. (I think they've got like 7 or 8 different varieties of the old fashioned and I will definitely be back to try them.) Our potato skins appetizer was on another level and that was before our entrees even arrived. My beef dip sandwich was perfect as was wifey's chicken Scaloppini. The timing of food arriving and the periodic check-ins from our waitress was flawless. We spoke briefly with the bartender, Doug (who may or may not have been one of the owners) to express how much we enjoyed our drinks and dinner. The hallmark of a well-run restaurant is that everyone who works there conducts themselves like it's their name on the sign out front. That's exactly what we got from everyone involved. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen staff deserves a Michelin star rating. The rest of the staff is equally impressive. I can't say enough about this place. Excellent drinks, excellent food and dynamite service. If you want a top-notch dining experience in Big Bear, this should be your first and only choice. From now on, it'll be mine.

We're a family of four with a well-behaved standard poodle, so we completely understood that our seating options were limited. What we didn't understand was watching two other families with dogs arrive after us and get seated well before us, along with what felt like half of Big Bear. Our "table is ready" text finally arrived 53 minutes after we joined the waitlist. If the real wait is an hour, just say an hour. At least then we could have taken our dog for a hike, grabbed lunch somewhere else, and possibly returned in time for our table.

We assumed this was because it was a Sunday, but the lake view during the sunset was beautiful, the server was friendly and attentive, and, again, the meal was delicious. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, I told my husband I would pretend he had rented the place out for us.

A guitarist playing really nice music in the background. Greeted by the owners, Midean and Jerry. A good start that turned horrible. Our server, Alan was sweet but didn't know what "aldenté" meant for my Clam Linguine. Sadly, the lnguini came overcooked. When one of my girlfriend went to tip the musician and asked if he could stay another hour and she would pay him, he said yes but needed to clear it with Midean. My friend was treated rudely by her. As an owner of any establishment, service, service, service is top priority to your customers. This was not the case. Midean's demeanor was short and annoyed. Mind you, restaurant hour closes at 8:00 pm. However, the bar closes at 9:00 pm. Towards the end of our dinner, it felt hurried. Additionally, staff never complimented a dessert with a candle and a birthday song. But Alan offered to box our leftovers. Jerry, the husband owner was nice. But we know who wears the pants - the mean old lady. Menu prices in other upscale restaurants, server offers these services. Next day, my mediocre, less than 6 pieces of clam linguini was not packed. Went into town to grab a bite to eat before heading down the mountain. Keep in mind, Corkage fee per bottle here is $30 per bottle. Typically, elsewhere is $15-20. Beware. Upon discovering my clam linguini was not packed, My friend who graciously paid the $600+ bill called and spoke to Midean ( elderly owner lady); again, the owner was super defensive and pushed the responsibility on us for not packing the leftovers ourselves. Polite response from my friend to Midean, "your server Alan offered to pack our leftovers," shifting the responsibility back to the restaurant. When asked if my food could be replaced, a rude response was a stern no, it's not our fault! I asked how will you address this incident to your staff? She said, " Will tell server never to offer packing leftovers to customers." Furthermore, she told us to never come back. Wowzer - indeed, we will be taking our business elsewhere and warn others not to experience your rudeness.
